Obra Dinn is one of a handful of pieces of media I wish I could erase from my memory just so I could experience it all over again from the very beginning. Absolute masterpiece of a game.

I mean, they're different games. Portal one had a sence of creeping dread as you approached the omnipotent voice. It was a complete reinvention of how you tell stories with puzzels. Portal 2 is an absurdist romp that is a lot closer to Hitchikers guide to the galaxy part 3 than I have no mouth but I must scream. It used the format for comedy and memorable characters rather than building on the story telling techniques.

I really loved the Obra Dinn. The 1-bit 3D graphics with all the options for all those retro screens really works, and then the voice acting is great. It has "texture", you can feel the boat as you discover new places. I like to revisit the game, even if I have completed it already. And this review is what I needed to finally play Edith Finch, which has been sitting in my library for some time now. Thanks!

Edith Finch and Obra Dinn are both S tier for me. I haven't checked out the other two though, will need to do so.

These reviews are so frustrating, because I just don't do gaming (no patience, I think it's a neurology thing), but I'd totally watch these things as movies. I haz a sad.
