HOLY FRIGGIN CRUD I HAVE A VIDEO FOR YOU!!!

Exporting this was a farce. My laptop is apparently not up to the effort of compressing even fairly simple graphical effects, so this gave me tons of of crashes and freezes. I finally managed to export in a different, less compressed format and then convert it to something reasonable in Media Encoder. Not sure whether that'll be the workflow going forward if I keep using my laptop for editing.

But this is the final CO-VID! Sorry it's such a long wait for a comparatively insubstantial video. This was supposed to be quick and fun. But it feels good to finish!

Only thing missing in this cut is outro music. Not sure what to use yet.

Kudos for finally getting work done again!! Getting back into what used to be routines taking MONTHS is totally normal for health issues, as I'm sure you know, but I thought I'd remind you. :) Out of curiosity, what was the "unreasonable" video size out of the editing program before you encoded it?

Belsameth Taken

Yay. New vid! Glad you're healthy enough to work again :)

This year I found a YouTube comment section underneath an extended version of some music from Chrono Trigger that was full of people just checking in to nobody, and saying hello, and sharing their problems. It was extremely sweet to see.

I'm in Boston too, and I got COVID this week despite being vaccinated since April. I hope this thing really is going to end...

Ezri Dax

I also loved The City in the Middle of the Night!

Sarah H

A very wholesome vid. And my last 12 months hit a few of those beats, too. I didn't grow an excellent beard, though. Top work 👌🏼

Erik

Excellent video, picked me right up. 😊 The countdown (countup?) sounds are a bit on the harsh/loud side for me though. Oh, and nice beard!

Homebrew Futures

Maybe it's my lack of imagination, but I like the absence of exit music. It lets "thank you for watching COVIDs. Let's get back to work," just hang there. For me, it gives a sense of closure for this series. Maybe that would also be true with the right music, but I like the feeling this left me with.

Ceno

Ah. This one just made my day. Loved it! Coincidentally I just so happen to be in the market for new sci-fi-y books. I'm all hype for The City in the Middle of the Night now!

TransHusko

as someone with........ similar attachments..... with dummy, I'll totally will give Third a listen!!!

Carlos Maza "How To Be Hopeless" made me cry like a baby 10/10 content

Rory

This is literally just 13 minutes of joy and I didn't even know how much I needed that until right now.

Will Bower

Josh Grey

Adding Wonderbook and The City in the Middle of the night to my reading list.

Ornithophobix

I spent several sleepless nights last year falling in love with Martinaise. Charlie Jane Anders seems right up my alley too.

Enshano

Ah. Enough media recommendations to ruin the rest of my summer. And a big long deep breath. Thank you.

Aida Manduley

Yay! Welcome back! So tickled to see Snow 🤣 Seconding liking no outro music and that leveling the sounds would be helpful esp for someone wearing headphones. Jarring and loud otherwise 💜

Lireoec

This got me to play 'Procession to Calvary'. Thank you so much! Glad to have you back.

KSCHatch

I love this so much! I'm going to riff off of it with a blog of my own list of things that are getting me through. LOVE! THANK YOU!
