Musicians react & analyze ♡ KickFlip - 응 그래 (Umm Great)

THEY ARE HERE and we love them already :') The new group from JYP that we've all been waiting for—KICKFLIP—finally got their debut date out (Jan 20) and gifted us with a pre-release track, Umm Great (aka 응 그래). We've been hearing about KickFlip since 2024, and as massive STAYs, we are here to support and follow SKZ's younger brother, so to speak :D. But all that aside, Umm Great proved itself to be a competent debut track with lots of fun sounds and lyrics, so let's just delve right into it and talk about what makes this song so, umm, great! XD Also, if you wish to get vids on KickFlip earlier than others, or if you want extra contents for other groups like SKZ, check out our patreon page at http://patreon.com/handsomesausages !! :D Kpop producer and singer-songwriter react to KickFlip's '응그래 (Umm Great)' (Music Video) Enjoy! They have short track instrumental spoilers on yt shorts with their introduction vids. Seems like the album is going to be quite versatile!

I loved this song, I can’t wait to hear the whole album. It was so bouncy but still felt cool and reserved.

🥰🥰🥰 They’ve already dropped some intro content for the members. Counting down the days! Trying to figure out if it’s possible to watch their debut showcase here or not. So if anyone knows, please help lol

This song has been in my head since it came out. Haha. Very catchy. I love that each of their voices is very distinct. Hope they have a successful debut!

Coco Nies

The song is super fun and catchy and the mv is adorable! I'm very hyped for the album drop now

So fun I love this!

Oh I'm so excited that you reacted to this. And I don't know even if everybody has their own style. I feel like they end up trying a bunch of things anyway. I was not expecting these deep voices from these little boys. So I was very shocked with that. But they sound really good. This song is so bouncy and fun. They are all so ridiculously adorable. I cannot handle this. Honestly with them being so young I definitely want to see them try a bunch of different genres. And also the ending of this choreography reminded me of the ending of get cool, which I know we shouldn't be comparing groups and stuff. It's just that move reminded me of that same move from that music video so yeah. Oh wow! Not the Pokémon Brock mention!! Ayyyeee. Yeah, I enjoyed this very much. I like how empty the background was actually.

Love this song. Reminds me of TWS debut song.

I LOVE the song and their whole vibe. Also all of the skateboards in the video, which goes with their group name, KickFlip (a "kick flip" is a skateboarding move). I'll definitely be watching how the group and their sound develops!!

Olivia

I’m very intrigued by their concept! it’s so fun and playful. i’m for sure gonna tune into their album. the sound of this song is very neo, nct ish! pls also check out NEXZ!! i can’t wait for both of these groups to be the next gen of JYPE

Did you guys watch the survival show they were formed on? LOUD? i know there were two groups technically, PLoud and JLoud. they’ve been training for a very long time (ahem stuck in the jype basement😒) but i’ve very happy for they get to debut now.

hi

btw most of them did a cover of backdoor with 3racha in loud (if you're interested in watching the survival show you should check it out its my fav survival show ever) to give you a run down of the show why most dont have the "JYP look" is because in the show most of the contestants were never trainees and that why JYP took a while to debut them and they even added new trainees to the winning group

Zesti

I'm SO SO SO HAPPY for this debut!! We've been waiting SOOOO LOOOONG for them. I'm just sad that Yoon Min left JYP before they got to this point. I think he would have been an interesting addition to the group. I Highly Highly HIGHLY recommend you guys to check out LOUD, the survival show they were created from. I personally feel it was one of the best survival shows in terms of artist treatment.

Hypatia

I've been obsessed with this song i need it on spotify now i don't want to wait til the 20th. They were on my radar and i told myself i would just support through streaming and views and then the music video dropped and then the dance practice and the intro videos and now i have their album preordered. I want them to debut well and get so much support. They're adorable and talented, there's so much potential. Also thank you as always for your insight into the lyrics!

J.A. Moore

BTW, their song has 12M+ views in 3 days. AMAZING for a group that hasn't even officially debuted yet. I love it. --------------------------------------------------------- For anyone that wants to follow KickFlip, here are their official social media accounts: Website: https://www.kick-flip.com/ko IG: https://www.instagram.com/kickflip_kickflip/ JYP IG: https://www.instagram.com/kickflip_jype/ (<--- not sure if this will stay active since they now have their own official IG acct) YT: https://www.youtube.com/@kickflip_jype *****Not sure whether they will add a second YT channel for Japanese releases. minje is the member that caught my eye so far. i also found out that my friend was minje’s vocal coach/mentor and helped him get into jype so that’s a nice coincidence

Stacy Marie

The vibe of the song is interesting, it feels completely spot on for the concept of cool, chill skaters completely unbothered by anything. I'm also just a huge fan of songs with anti-drops as the chorus so I'm really excited to see what other songs they have in store 👏

sysrae

I really like the song! There's something very earwormy about it.

Lari

This song has such a good vibe! I like it!

Rina

Finally out of the JYPE-basement! I have been waiting for them! So excited to see where they take it! You should check out their survival show. And also, their rendition of back door (LOUD ver.) is really great, and there's a stage performance ft 3racha from the show. It is SO good! https://youtu.be/Yhb2g3TqiJ8?si=7QyRZiNuVMhjxhFv

Im excited for more Kickflip, I really enjoyed the song and concept. It makes me giggle a little because it sounds kind of like an English northerner saying hungry XD
