SO much respect for these two right now :0 If you've ever been around this channel, you already know we name drop Epik High at least once every couple videos. So there's no need to talk more about our stance on Tablo's artistry. But you may not know that we have just as much respect for RM currently, especially since we never reacted to his tracks on this channel. Well, off-cam, we've been listening to his solo works and have been massively falling in love with his style. So imagine our reaction to learning that Tablo and RM has done a piece together :D We'll let the video speak for itself, but we're hoping they'll do more collaborations down the road. As an Armytiny I always get so excited when you have BTS stuff on your channel, it's always such a great surprise. I'm absolutely in love with RM's latest album as well it's a masterpiece 💜

So glad you guys liked the song! It's been stuck in my head since it dropped. A potential point of interest re: RM's lyrics is that, in addition to the reference to Blood, Sweat and Tears, there's also arguably reference to one of the songs from his most recent album, Lost!, at the point where he talks about feeling lost - that one has a really cool MV (which I think might've won an award in its own right?) and is from the same album as Come Back To Me. I also saw a clip online of J-Hope reacting to the song on a recent live; he starts to bop his head along as RM's verse starts, but when he hears the line about the 27 club, which he clearly wasn't expecting, he goes completely still, and it takes him a moment to recover. There's also a recent interview Tablo did with Rolling Stone talking about the collab - I won't quote the whole thing, but there's a really touching line about why it took so long for Tablo to release the song, namely: because of the subject matter, he was worried that if he put it out while RM was in the military, he might suffer, but then RM rang him up and was like, "Why haven't you put the song out?", which is why he dropped it when he did. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/tablo-epik-high-rm-bts-new-song-interview-1235328609/

Would love if you explore RMs work! I’ve always seen that the way he writes is like poetry. And that the normal translations don’t give non Korean speakers the full experience. So, I would love to see you guys break down some of his lyrics

When you said the lyrics looked like work in progress that reminded me that RM sometimes posts photos of his Notebook where you can see the draft of a song or a letter. And it has a lot of scribble and crossed out parts.

Tablo featured on RM's song All day on the Indigo Album. So if you wanted to dive into that, it might be a good starting point. I am not sure if you are familiar with BTS and Epik High's relationship. RM and Suga say that there wouldn't be BTS without epik high and now they are quite close. Tablo was also at Suga's show Suchwita which I recommend for a deeper talk.

I've been hoping to see your reaction to RM's album Right Place, Wrong Person because I think it's excellent. Even if you've already heard it I would still love to hear your breakdown of the music and lyrics. And his earlier albums Indigo and Mono would be awesome too. He's also done some great features with Balming Tiger and So Yoon for example. If you wanted to dive into the BTS member's solo stuff that would be really cool, it's always interesting to see people who aren't familiar with them check out their music and how/if they differ from expectations. They've all had very distinct albums.

Thank you for checking this one out. I would also love to see some dives into RM's work, especially for your perspective on his Korean lyrics. As someone who doesn't speak the language and has to rely on translations and what I feel from the music, I know I'm still not grasping everything that he puts into each song. RM is such a thoughtful, conscientious writer and poet--I'd just love to hear more breakdowns of his words and music! RPWP is such a complete album, and his documentary working on it is also an excellent archive of that moment in his life. I recommend it, also, if you love the album!

Also, I don't know if either of you has been watching Epikase, but every episode has been so chaotic and fun. They also have an interview (Mithra & Tukutz doing the interviewing) of Tablo about Stop the Rain which is both insightful and ridiculous (very on-brand of them).

I think the handwritten lyrics in the mv are their actual handwritten lyrics. Tablo has put up a few posts on IG breaking down the mv and song. He mentions that this song was made before RM enlisted but he didn't want to release it while RM was enlisted because of how personal the song is and how it shows such vulnerable sides of both of them. The only reason Tablo dropped the song is because RM asked him why he hasn't dropped the song yet. Also, the animation is connected to their lofi channel/video from last year

This was my first time hearing RM solo and it made me want to check out his other songs. I've been a huge fan of both Tablo and Epik High for a while and I love Tablo's voice so much. This song feels so raw and emotional that it's almost hard to listen to because it makes you sad but at the same time it's comforting because it makes you feel less alone. It reminded me of spoken word both in terms of the honesty and vulnerability of the lyrics as well as the actual flow and tonality

In all honesty, I was not expecting a reaction to this song, so I was pleasantly surprised to wake up and see this. I love both Epik High and BTS and anytime I see Tablo with RM, I just know it’s going to be good. RM’s latest solo album is probably one of my favorite albums. He’s just a lyrical poet and his music just resonates with me. I wouldn’t be adverse to seeing you react to some of his stuff lol. He has another song with Tablo on his Indigo album. But in all seriousness, thank you for reacting to this. I really love the song and it makes me happy to see your thoughts.
