Mingyu Spreads House Music All Over the Place This time, it’s Mingyu’s “Shake It Off”—and wow, what a track from start to finish. Mingyu’s sexy rap is pure joy to our ears. What’s especially exciting is that this is pure house music—something we don’t hear often in K-pop, at least in our experience. “Shake It Off” is the kind of track that deserves to blast in every club, and you can bet we’ll be there shaking our asses! if i had to choose a genre to listen to for the rest of my life, is definitely any derivant from EDM music. the moment i heard this track, i was hooked and loved the energy he put into it. just fyi, one of the writers, Samuel Arredondo (Samuel Kim), is one of the pre-debut members of svt. he was pulled out by his mom because he was 11-12 years old and was too young to debut back in 2014. but he's still close with the members today and they adore him so much. so having him in the 10th album feels like a full circle moment. i'm so excited for the next song, so good! thank you for another good reaction.

the C.K in the lyrics stands for Calvin Klein! it's why mingyu's solo was the only one censored from music shows, i think 😂

Out of the tracks, I think this one was that surprised me the most, in a way that I don't usually lean in this kind of genre. But Gyu's SHAKE IT OFF has a distinct addictive charm. The more you listen to it, the more it get stuck on your head.

Ha! Ive danced to this song so many times already, but this is the first time I've ever sat and watched the lyrics too. Wow. I like it even more now. It reminds me of the clubs in San Francisco back in the 90s.

Seventeen actually have a lot of house-inspired b-sides ! They start dabbling into the style more in 2017 and have regularly dropped house influenced tracks since. Seventeen has very varied discography but their main inspirations do seem to come from funk, RnB and EDM, specifically house, with a sprinkle of rock at times.

Mingyu's rap often gets overlooked because of his visuals and because when being in a unit with powerful rappers like Vernon and SCOUPS makes it hard to shine, but his style and the way he writes are so cool when you focus on them. I read somewhere he's more of a melodic rapper, unlike Vernon for example who's more lyrically-focused, and you can tell it has merit in this track because he really plays with the rhythm and the tones. His rap is so cool, he's like a hidden gem! Danger and Shake It Off are kinda like their own club music section in this album, then we get to Happy Virus and Destiny which are more like a soulful, heartfelt wishes section of songs. You'll see! Also, thank you for explaining the Benjamin Button reference, I did read about it but I didn't know it was so mainstream in Korea! That's cool to know.

This track really captures the "Kim Influence" Mingyu personality, I love it so much for him! And his flow!! It's so dancey and vibey, and damnnn I'd really love that outro to be longer. We have DK's nexttt I'm so excited for it!!

This is my first time listening to the full song because i always ended up skipping it to get to DK’s solo when listening to the full album, but your reactions made me appreciate it a little more! Y’all aren’t ready for the tonal shift with DK’s solo 😝
