Yeh it's always 'surprise after surprise' with SVT but ARE YOU KIDDING US RIGHT NOW?

THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST HIP HOP UNIT TRACKS WE'VE HEARD FROM SVT AND IT'S A FCKING BONUS TRACK THAT FOLLOWS "WHO" AND IT'S ACTUALLY GOT ONE OF THE BEST LOOKING MVS AS WELL WAT?!!

Y'all be just trolling at this point. This is insanity.

We got the MV. The Picnic Live (which, the arrangement could've been more fun but the SONG IS TOO GOOD ANYWAYS), and the notorious Caratland unit switch version THAT ACTUALLY WENT HARDER THAN THE ORIGINAL AND JUST HOW.

Okay.

Do we do one more with more links (if there are ones that we could pair with the mentioned recording behind video that is ...preferably not concert clips) or do we move on to TEEN, AGE album and check out the Intro track (+ Chang Up if Intro track is literally an intro)?

Let us know. We're done.

Love <3

With the teen, age album first I think you have to it's a must in caratland to watch the teasers for the this album they are very special to this album https://youtu.be/8LAfPM3CY4M?si=XevE2zRJEw_LapXU and https://youtu.be/gLwNQfgKbhQ?si=7q90tIe2KiIxvz01 They are like 42 secs long teaser and as you asked, yes the intro is just an intro track but it's a must it's also a very short intro so I think you can do that with change up MV and the mnet live performance https://youtu.be/nshmwFK3yd8?si=XLi42ET5_713zRZe

JEONGHAN CHICKEN JEONGHAN CHICKEN 🐔🐔 As much as i love the original version, the vcu version is more attached to my heart <3 The caratland performance is actually full of references too! Like the members replace the names of the cities with their hometowns, the picture for Jeju City at 14:43 has a very ICONIC backstory (theyve talked about it in MMTG), and the melody at 14:39 is a snippet of their song Heaven's Cloud. I personally vote continuing to Teen,Age! Intro is just an intro, so better to pair it up with Change Up. Links down below: - MV: https://youtu.be/6iCn6Qpy36k - Mnet special performance: https://youtu.be/nshmwFK3yd8 Teen,Age has such a diverse flavor profile of songs. Not my top 1 full album from them (face the sun is just too powerful) but the songs on this one are just...indescribable. Especially the unit songs!! I think it's a transition to newer sounds and newer concepts as well. I cant wait to hear how you pick apart the intricacies in the music. And before moving on to the next album, Im curious about your top picks for the Al1 album too!! Like which songs you've been playing repeatedly, if you have new favorites in the discography so far etc.

Brianna E

As a toddler carat, it's so satisfying going on this journey with you, as you're taking a much more organized and comprehensive approach than I have been. I've seen Jeonghan chicken with no context so many times and now I can finally appreciate it fully! XD I vote for moving on to the next album, the recording behind covers all three of the units and the songs they switched as well so I think it makes mores sense to wait until you've covered the other unit reverses from the 2021 Caratland, otherwise you'll be spoiled on the other units' performances. When you do get to those though, there's also a dance practice behind you can check out! The Caratland unit reverses are one of my favourite Caratland segments that they do, and are always well worth the deep dive into the behind the scenes content as well.

Quwarichi

I think it was Scoups that said "the vocal unit is where all the rascals are", and he was right. THEY ALWAYS DO THIS DURING UNIT SWITCHES. I think the reason everyone (myself included) were so hyped for you guys to get to Check In is for the switch version with Jeonghan Chicken, but the original song itself is also really good and the MV is gorgeous. It was around the era in KPOP were all the MVs had really sharp and nice colors, which you'll see with the upcoming album TEEN,AGE. Maybe I'm just impatient but I actually would rather you guys just go ahead and start Teen,Age. It's such a strong album it might be my favorite of the entire studio album collection, and yes I am saying that it might be stronger than Happy Burstday. THAT'S how serious I am. It's the best kind of Seventeen album - IT'S A MIXTEEN ALBUM! You're not prepared. The first track is Intro, but intro is 51 seconds long - banger music but literally just an intro, so CHANGE UP (SVT LEADERS) LINKS AHOY: Links: Intro. New World audio: https://youtu.be/QE6hljUk6Gc?si=6IpRkJqSxU8Sw8S8 CHANGE UP MV: https://youtu.be/6iCn6Qpy36k?si=ZW6-6KMjFqYCE4X6 CHANGE UP mnet special presentation: https://youtu.be/nshmwFK3yd8?si=qWKNUZzrmO2JB1ts CHANGE UP stage mix: https://youtu.be/kTrNXMIXLBA?si=V0M84yc4mn89KR0y CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ros

Oh my god you're finally introduced to their unit reverse/switches hahaha!! I'm so excited for you guys to see more of them.

anayahss

YEAH I CHECK IN!!! JEONGHAN CHICKEN!!! honestly so glad you guys did the VCU version because that's the version my brain plays even when listening to the original 🤣 i vote for moving ahead. The behind is fun but i think it'll be more enjoyable (and spoiler free) if you've seen other unit performances too. Teen, Age is one of their best albums (i know we say this about every one) and has some of my personal favorite most played seventeen tracks.

anayahss

Yes! The teasers are a must before the album!!!

dav

Totally agree with you😭🙏

dav

Now you know how iconic Caratland is

Normal SJA

Tho I would love the second part for check in, I am more looking forward for you to check on their next LEGENDARY 2nd Full Album. Teen,Age. This is the Final album in Seventeen Second Era in their career that still have rookie Seventeen sounds but the evolution of their music peak here. I AM SO EXCITED!!! This album actually is the PEAK seventeen as CLAP really boomed and the unit songs ( Vocal, hip hop and Perf respectively) really went viral on radios and general public. Especially it is more meaningful that this was release on 2017 and the boys said that they wanna make it their year due to you know “17” and they actually did. They had their first Caratland fanmeeting and lot of awards. It was a memorable year this album spit barssssssss~~~~ Actually for this era extra content, I really wish you could check ASK IN A BOX maybe after you check all the tracks if you dont want any spoiler cuz at part 2 they talk a lil for each tracks introduction. but I you dont mind a teaser, and little explanation wont a be a harm. Ask in a box: PT 1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=DUWurmCLkI8 PT 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsYgN0oHglU AND I REALLY2 want you to check below live after you check all 3 vocal, hip hop, and perf unit track cuz below live is legendary, performed in 2021, There is a big backstory to it but I will save it for later. Rolling Stone Live In My Room https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFcsPXQWN6U Anyway. Looking forward to the next one! Love, a Sausage and a Carat. 🌕💍

Mikayla

YEAH I CHECK IN JEONGHAN CHICKEN!!!!!! In all seriousness , I was so excited to get here specifically for this unit reverse because it's just so iconic. I vote we just get to New Age because the album is just banger after banger, and I cannot WAIT to see you guys hear some of these tracks. I personally love change-up so I will be waiting excitedly until next week!! Now for links MV : https://youtu.be/6iCn6Qpy36k?si=3ghWFjc_deqDohW_ mnet performance : https://youtu.be/nshmwFK3yd8?si=g30BqxbpgPPmcize

konekochan

Wait I never realized that the context for those videos is that they're teasers for the album, lmaoooooo 😂😂😂 if they dont check this out next week, I'll recommend it in the next svt livestream

Cheonmi Dae

YES TEEN,AGE ALBUM LETS GO. My top 3 Seventeen album together with attacka and henggarae

Hannie 1004

Really hope they could react for the Caratland 2019 Unit reverse but I cant find any links 😔 I think after Teen.Age album they will have heard all the songs already

Thunder Monkey

D'Some if this is the best thing you've seen so far for SVT, then buckle up, Buttercup! They have volumes of masterpiece contents that will clap you in the gooch! Sorry. (Well it does in mine) 🤣🤣🤣. I LOVE THAT U GUYS GUESSED CHICKENN!!!!!!!

CavaeStella

HanC, I'm honored that my comment in Who got you curious about chicken.....err, Check In 😆 I wish there were CCs for the vocal unit version cos I wanna know the changes they made. And yeah, that Jeonghan Chicken part does get stuck in your brain for a while. Especially when eating fried chicken. I vote for going straight into Teen;Age and combine Intro with Change Up. Change Up MV is still one of my favorite Seventeen MVs with its concept and colors.

Dilia

The recording and practice behind is really good to see each unit’s dynamics, but it is better to wait until other units performances too

reginamva

YEEES ANOTHER FELLOW CHANGE UP LOVER, I also really love that MV I think it was of the first ones I watched and made me really curious about SVT

Mira ❀

It would be an absolute joy – no, an honor – to move on to 'TEEN, AGE' next! ✨ This album is such a solid one – powerful, highly vibrant and inspiring. It's quintessential "Seventeen", while incorporating a level of experimentation that I find very unique and full of character. I'd even go as far as to say it's my favorite SVT full-length album. It features so many of my absolute favorites, including my top LEADERS song, my favorite Hip-Hop Unit track, and my all-time favorite Vocal Unit song. What makes this album particularly iconic and original is the variety of songs featuring units or different member combinations. It’s the "Mixteen" album par excellence. Another point that I'm especially fond of is the signature style of the music videos. They were all directed by Jo Beomjin (VM Project), who collaborated with them across this entire album (and has worked on several other MVs since "Don’t Wanna Cry"). On a personal note, this album is very dear to me as it helped me through a tough time, so it has a very special place in my heart 💖 I'm so excited and thrilled for you to embark on this new adventure. Let's gooo! 😙

Mira ❀

I’m jumping in because I couldn’t agree more! This is easily one of my all-time favorite MVs from Seventeen. Every time I watch it, I’m still blown away by the production and the vibes, the aesthetics are just on another level 🥰

MattyIsWhimsical

When I think if Check In, I only ever remember the VU unit version. Jeonghan chicken is forever etched in my mind. And the bts videos of recording, particularly Joshua's! Joshua is a hidden rap god. I need him to drop a mixtape.

Fay

i suggest also watching the behind of vocal unit recording the song! Whenever they do a unit switch for hip hop unit, they always make things up and joke around💀 the whole process for check in was hilarious https://youtu.be/UOA2jBRff5g?si=TGTXNTjtdz9-7Jfl

hoshi baby

the next album is legendary

Dawndream

ahhh i dont have the links for caratland 2019... but i do have the links for caratland 2020, so i'll def be sharing that with you guys once i manage to get to my PC :) i recommend holding off on the vocal unit behind because it has other unit switches as well, so its easier to watch it as a whole later on. CAN'T WAIT for you guys to check out TEEN,AGE album, which has mixed unit tracks, as well as the first ever LEADERS unit track, Change Up, which is SUPER iconic.

Viyanca

i haven't see this mv since it came out ,, i forgot how beautiful the color grading was

Jade V

Check In was released in November 2016, way before Al1 came out and even before Going Seventeen (the previous album). Hip-hop unit was inspired by all the new experiences they had during their first overseas tour, made this mixtape upon coming back and released it as a little bonus for their fans that also served to hype up their next comeback with Going Seventeen. But since the track got a lot of love, they ended up releasing a remastered version on Al1.

Jocelyn A

totally agree!! id love if they could check it out in full later

Jocelyn A

in the future i think it’d be great to check out the other unit switches! you could leave it as one of the “extras” for whenever you finish an album

HISA

Next album arrived, with its higher-budget visuals, costumes, and expanded related content, CARATs' reactions were being shared more actively online. I simply can't wait for RollingSTONE 【IN MyRoom】! The marathon is displaying some splendid running.

PaperCrown

I'm so glad you guys like Check In. I love it too. If you do look at more links for this song, I would love to hear more about the lyrics please! I also love when the vocal unit covers the HHU because it's hilarious. Whenever they cover the Performance unit, they tend to do the first half of the song with a beautiful rearrangement where they show off their vocal skills and then, like with their HHU switch covers, they devolve into comedy because they can't be serious for more than 5 minutes or they'd die. TEEN,AGE is one of my favourite albums. It has so many iconic songs and that era has so many iconic moments. Even though I love CHEERS, my favourite leader line song is Change Up so I can't wait for your reactions. The MVs for the TEEN,AGE songs are gorgeous. Here's the Change Up MV link: https://youtu.be/6iCn6Qpy36k I hope you'll check out the Hip Hop unit's mixtape songs: un haeng il chi, sukyo, mmo, etc. The performances are amazing and for un haeng il chi, the vocal unit did a really funny unit switch performance for that song (they changed the lyrics too). I also hope you'll get to the other Caratland unit switch performances. Some of the newer ones can be actual reactions because there are better quality footage of the performances, but I think some of the older ones would be better suited to the livestream reactions IMO (assuming no one has a good quality version somewhere).

sabaninotte

That video is a good representation of so many things I love about Seventeen. They are so wildly talented that, even when they are being utterly ridiculous, it's still obvious. They always take a joke all the way, they don't half-ass it. They commit to the bit entirely which just makes it so much funnier. I have been waiting for Teen Age!! It's up there for fav album. So so so many amazing tracks. Including Clap which is the song that made me become a carat.

hoshnothoshi

the behind the scenes of when they recorded and choreographed this is top tier content honestly i will never forget watching this caratland live

ema - simplywoozis

I've been neglecting commenting during this whole album reaction journey, but let me tell you, I am in love with Al1. It's perfect top to bottom and inside out; the amount of times it went platinum in my room back in 2017😙🤌🏽. I think that Al1 and HAPPY BURSTDAY resonate with me so much because of the sound and genres they did, especially DWC. it's been almost 9 years and still is my favorite release of them. I definitely vote for moving on to TEEN, AGE. I'm telling you, 2017 was really their year because the amount of growth they had for this album is visible; plus, it has many of the fandom's favorite tracks (and the iconic "burgundy army" group was formed, it includes Monsta X and ASTRO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OsD6uY8keU, around the 1:32 mark). The into for this album is a good mood setter, in my opinion. You'll see the change in sound while maintaining their seventeen-ness, which is why is another stand out in their discography. As for Change Up, you better be prepared, as this is the first sight of the LEADERZ Unit. Wow, they gagged us back when they were releasing the songs, no one expected such a new sound but they talk their shit like in CHEERS. I'm so ready for this new chapter, it's a total banger. 1. Stage Mix: https://youtu.be/kTrNXMIXLBA?si=I4m9Oh1spoBirqu9 I couldn't find videos from Ideal Cut Concert but I'm sure someone is going to provide other links. Can't wait for next week!

can

i always thought of check in as part of Teen,Age somehow lmao I CANNOT BELIEVE WE'RE GOING TO START TEEN,AGE SOON the first album that got me into Caratland, still one of my fav albums to this year. Clap, you will forever be my eternal Queen. shout out to red haired HOSHI! I kinda wish you could react to the song back to back because I don't know, listening to the album in its entirety hits differently than listening to it one by one. but anyhow, LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR REACTION! ps: this reminds me, though I have my phone on silent all the time now, I still have the Outro as my ringtone lol

amiey ieyra

One thing about vocal unit is, no one would expect that they were the insane one in the group—if you are not a Seventeen fan. We have Dokyeom and Seungkwan, a comedic duo. Joshua, who has greed to be funny and he never dissapoint. Then, we have Woozi who seems like nonchalant but he lowkey enjoying it. Of course, Jeonghan the mastermind, the idea bank. If you check every single performance from vocal unit in Caratland, you’ll notice how they never ran out of idea and always took the song to another level of parody 🤣

SVT's Riza

Out of all the units, during Caratland unit switch, VOCAL UNIT is the NEVER SERIOUS unit. The last one where we thought they finally took it seriously, we were clowned. I love them so much hahahaha

Skye

I do hope you can react to the full caratland fan meetings someday cuz they're just SOO fun, it's like watching gose on stage. The performances, the games, the skits, and of course THE unit switches all in one package.

going yellow

PLEASE REACT TO HHU UN HAENG IL CHI AND THE VOCAL UNIT SWITCH IM BEGGING LOL

carat sebongie

I vote for going forward through to teen, age with intro+change up. You guys can circle back to the inside seventeen things later on (not that it's not fun but I'm just personally excited to see you guys hype teen, age more). There are links for the change up mv. I love check in and jeonghan chicken + vocal unit part switch is just iconic in itself so that's always fun.

tim

Comedian unit? Lol the cutest, funniest and craziest unit lol..just imagine, Leader Woozi with Evil twin and BooSeok

Hansol's Gums

YES and how they made the new lyrics was so fun

Hansol's Gums

I vote for teenage!! Then afterwards you can probably watch the unit switches in caratland 2019 since you'd have heard all the songs in it by then hehe (up until teenage)

Priyanka Banerjee

Jeonghan Chicken! I have checkin associated with it lol
