Don't Wanna Cry VS Without You. Battle of the century.

Glad we walked into this knowing that it's a brother track to DWC, cuz that made this reaction ten times more fun. :D

Also, you'll see what we mean, but this is more like an evil twin brother than just good ol' brother who is...not...evil.....thanks to the "zhuzh" this song has that puts it ever so slightly on the less mainstream side of the spectrum.

Oh and maybe you knew this would happen, maybe you would've never guessed this would be the case, but this became one of our all time favourite SVT choreo.

With that, we'll let our video selves explain what we mean here :D

CLAP NEXTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!Enjoy <3

Without you is such a beautiful song. And the fact that this comes before Clap and after DWC to bridge the narrative. And the choreo might not be the most energetic, the precision and control they put into perfecting the movements must be really difficult to pull off. OMG. We're doing CLAP next. omggggg. Before Super, before Hot, before HIT, Clap was *the* seventeen hype song. It's basically goosebumps galore right at the beginning. And it's finally time for you to witness the 3-tier seventeen cake Links: MV - https://youtu.be/CyzEtbG-sxY Dance Practice - https://youtu.be/K_qlkKYL-54 Japan Arena Tour Performance - https://youtu.be/QqpuUz2TUB0 Ode to You Performance - https://youtu.be/1xXKIOmEYEE P.S. enjoying this whole discography journey 🤭🤭 you're right, its basically banger album after banger album

Aww my dear, WITHOUT YOU~🥹🩵 It's just so lovely despite being a breakup song. And I gotta agree that the choreography is brilliant. It's actually one of my personal favorite SVT choreos to this day. Love how they were able to cleverly capture the lyrics and emotions through dance. Another big thing maybe for me is that the point choreo are something that anyone can do. My body just instantly moves whenever the parts 모"자를 눌러쓰고..." and "변해볼까 해" come up.

Without You had me so confused on my first listen I almost disliked it lol. After a couple of listens it became one of my faves on this album. It was the first SVT track with such a unique structure but the unclear prechorus/chorus definition and the "fake drop" become a regular reoccurence from here on out. As for Clap, I only have one link to recommend but it's an absolute MUST-SEE : the Japan Arena Tour stage https://youtu.be/QqpuUz2TUB0

I am glad you guys enjoy without you as much as I do.. The lyrics portrays the loneliness after breakup in such bittersweet way compared to DWC. and the choreo man.. still one of my favourite. The things you guys said about b-sides actually makes me felt touched and happy cries lol. Cuz ever since you guys decide to do the deep dive with seventeen discography I actually have doubt you guys gonna gets the b-sides. Cuz Seventeen have different approaches with their B-sides — it was never a filler songs. Being self-produced team which Woozi as main producer alongside with Bumzu, and members heavily participate with the lyrics they never took any b-sides for granted. Even when there is b-sides that is misunderstood will be cleared once performed. And THEY PERFORM every b-sides in their concert, award shows, live clip or special performances throughout their career. No B-sides left unsung. And the way they treat their b-sides so preciously taught carats to be so and that is why we are always anticipated tracklist announcement, unit songs. And yes, the Japan Arena Tour performance IS A MUST!!!! Also love your comment about every album after another is always somehow better in its own way without diminishing previous album which making album discovery journey more fun and memorable. And me too also arent able to pick best album and always separate them by categories when asked lol. Anyway. Looking forward to the next one! Love, a Sausage and a Carat. 🌕💍

I love everytime one of you says this is my favorite choreo... Then another one hits and you say it again! 🩵🩷🩵🩷🩵🩷 the best part is there is so much more to go! Here's to you both! 🍻

If they’re THIS amazed with Without You, I can’t wait to see their reaction when they check out Falling Flower 😌

I never noticed it until you mentioned it, but Without You might've STARTED the trend of fake build ups in SVT songs that Woozi makes. It's like his signature in later albums and title tracks, and I know more popular title tracks he did that with like THANKS and Fallin Flower (Japanese single) but only after you noted the fact that the prechorus is in this weird confusing structure did it drop for me that THIS is where it started. It's super interesting because I think TeenAge is actually a very important album in the setting of the future SVT sound (which I feel like I say about every album but in this case especially) and you can tell a lot of effort and thought went into every little thing. The choreography for example: from the last pose of DWC to Without You and then, next time you'll see, Without You ends on the pose that starts CLAP. It's like they're made to be a set. (Fun fact: HOSHI MADE THE CHOREOGRAPHY FOR WITHOUT YOU!) Random stuff to note: apparently it used to be a trend in 3rd gen kpop groups to put an album in choreo videos to show off the center for the audience. In Aju Nice I think they put a fox doll because Wonwoo couldn't be there. Other thing: Someone asked Mingyu before if it bothers the members about line division, how in some songs someone gets more while someone else gets less, but he said that it's something they don't mind because it means all 13 of them can perform together. I think with the popular trend of shortening songs nowadays it's more apparent that sometimes you can't have all 13 have equal line distribution but what I like is that even when they can't all have bigger parts they make their own part unique and memorable. Next up we have CLAP! Self proclaimed by Scoups to be HIS song, and honestly, he's right! LINKS! Okay, I have so many thoughts so will attempt to get through them all with as little rambling as possible... Firstly, I had zero recollection of Without You, it's on my SVT playlist but my brain was stuck on the loading symbol when I tried to remember what it sounded like. For whatever reason, I still think after re-listening to it with you I'm gonna forget it so apologies to Without You (it's not you, it's me). I can definitely see why they switched to Clap as the title track. The choreo is something that is so distinct to SVT, when they do this style of choreo it reminds me again of how unique they are as a group. Like, if I didn't already know this was a SVT track I'm almost certain I'd be able to tell if I saw another group cover it. That being said, I don't think it's their strongest choreography, I much prefer Don't Wanna Cry for choreo in this style. Also, this isn't specific to this song but as someone who listens to music largely on vibes alone, it's always so fascinating to me the elements you're able to identify and point out as interesting/unusual. I'll just be bopping my head/tapping my toes and one of you will go "Whoa, what's going on!? They changed the chord??" or call out the weirdness of the structure as I'm mindlessly humming along in my head. I just love that we can all listen to the same song and have such different experiences in the process!

okay no one mentioned but good catch with the choreo at the start,, dwc+without+clap are all connected in terms of choreo.

When I first discover this song, i was really amazed with the lyrics (how they describe break up) and really love how the choreo potrays the lyrics..it was easily on my “on repeat” playlist

without you gives a very cinematic feeling, and their jpn arena tour stage with a new arrangement was a really good depiction of that vibe visually too. recommend it to carats who haven't seen it.

Do you have any plan to watch Super Junior Killing Voice?

Athalia_kleo💎

Exited when they discover a easter egg on the An Ode album 🤐

Wait you're so right, I swear I was getting Fallin Flower vibes from Without You and this must be why

A lot of people talked about the DWC + without you + clap connection, just wanna add my appreciation too. I think one of the most clever things is how the formations are connected as well. The ending pose of DWC connects to the start of Without you and the ending formation of Without you is the starting formation of Clap. I think story wise the progression is also really connected about going thru breakup and grief and trying to move on and then finally saying screw it let's clap at all our problems and live on.

I really love this song and choreo, it's too good, wow! The choreo is so smart! My fav is them dropping off members one by one at the start and later when they tap and turn a member, and their direction of walk changes like wow! Also, there is another SVT song, which I cannot remember exactly, but that also has a similar lyric to DWC.

Jordan

Truly dont think ive watched this choreo. Or when i did i didnt realize it was connected to DWC. I loved the street lights turning off, definitely reminded me of DWC and then the end i was like WAIT, and noticed the formation at the end was for CLAP! Seriously always amazed by SVT and so happy i became a carat!

SVT's Riza

The choreo is a trilogy, actually: The ending pose for DWC is the beginning of WITHOUT YOU, and the ending pose for WITHOUT YOU is the beginning for CLAP.

SVT's Riza

Also, the beginning choreo of WITHOUT YOU is the reverse choreo for DWC's ending.
