Musicians react & analyze ♡ WOODZ - [ARCHIVE. 1] CD 1

WOODZ DROPPED ARCHIVE. 1 TO SAVE THE K-POP WORLD 17 tracks. SEVENTEEN FREAKIN’ TRACKS YO! And not a single one to be wasted. Not a single one that ain't memorable. For today, we listened to the first 9 tracks (well, 8 if we exclude “Bloodline,” which we already checked out when it pre-released with Cinema), and it almost feels impossible how perfect every single one of them sound. Can't even begin to imagine what we'll get from CD B, which we'll be reacting to VERY soon while CD 1 is fresh in our heads. In the meantime, we're hoping for a music video drop for "Na Na Na". Now, buckle the fuckle up because we're gon go in depth with this one. And don't even get us started on Human Extinction cuz we talk extensively about that one fo sho. Let's get this party started. First of all, it’s only March, but I’m already convinced that Archive 1 is going to be album of the year 😂 There’s just no way it won’t be. Just to give you a bit more context,like D some mentioned, WOODZ went on several programs and shared more details about the album and the tracks. He said the main reason behind having 17 tracks was: 1. He wanted to show everything he likes and is capable of, beyond just “Drowning.” 2. He wanted to change the structure of his concerts and do what many Western artists do, release a full album and perform all the songs live (which he actually did). 3. He also mentioned that no one really does this anymore, so he thought, “why not do it myself?” (such a Leo ♌️). About the album flow you were totally right. He said he carefully selected and arranged the tracks in that exact order to create that specific vibe. Fun fact: he originally wanted “Human Extinction” to be the final track, but the company strongly suggested changing it 😂 so that’s why it ended up as track 5. “Super Lazy” was actually the last song he wrote, and it perfectly reflects his desire to just take a day off. At that time he was doing festivals, TV shows, concerts, filming a movie, and preparing the album all at once 😭 For “Human Extinction,” there’s a YouTube video where he analyzes the lyrics with a poet, and it’s really interesting(https://youtu.be/z0u8bQu04zs?si=KjrjAHnMvd5m7362 )And yes, you were basically right, the interpretation of “light” is the main theme. I highly recommend watching it! STRAY… I barely survived it at the concert this weekend. Like Han C always says, it’s 2 minutes and 48 seconds of pure “hair erection” 😂 He also mentioned that most of the lyrics are actually based on negative comments he received. The only lines he personally wrote are basically: “okay, but look at your people they’re all following me.” He said he made the song as a way to relieve stress, but ironically got really stressed preparing it for the concert because it’s so hard 😂 My favorite? Impossible to choose. This album has at least 10 tracks that could be title tracks..I seriously can’t pick one. I’m really curious to hear your thoughts on the rest of the songs 😍 I honestly can’t get over this album, it’s perfect to me. Sorry for the long comment, i hope it helps!

Quick request: since now you know how important song order is, maybe listen to Cinema for your CD#2 reaction, just because of that. (Or use it as an opp to watch the Cinema concert clip?)

I just went to Woodz's concert in Singapore last Thursday, and it was AMAZING. He really spoiled us by even extending the soundcheck for another 15 minutes and he even briefly sang two of uniq's songs. It just shows how much he appreciates moodz, and I'm so proud of him for what he has achieved thus far. Can't wait to see your reaction for CD#2!
