We'll keep this one short.

This was an amazing episode, yes. But listen up.

LET THEM EAT YO :') Especially Wonwoo our favourite Debate Night Host :'((((

That's it. Otherwise, this is already peak content.

Also, shoutout to SK for keepin it professional at all times with your sacrifices (constantly being funny, talking, and just being a pro entertainer XD)

Some CC stuff here and there, but mostly all good, so if you have other questions, please ask away!

We'll talk more in the comments :D

Enjoy <3

I agree that it is hard to watch this and them not getting proper food is like no joke they are kids. But watching this just gives everyone an idea that Seventeen in their pre-debut and early debut era were dealt a very bad set of cards when it comes to variety content and when you see them at the top now with GoSe you just know that they did the best out of the cards they were dealt and where they are is because of their efforts and their efforts alone. Regarding the next watch after OFD I would say jump into Nana Tour and then circle back to In the Soop 1 and 2 and then later on get to OFD season2

Hansol's Gums

I'm also game to watch NaNa tour after!!

Megan D

It will be nice to see the difference between the two. I also was unhappy with them not being able to eat. My hope is that behind the scenes they did give them some food.

konekochan

About wonu and seafood: he's not allergic, he just doesnt like the taste. But he does try to eat some at times, it's just sad he barely ate anything in this episode 😭😭 I love Coups' leader moments shining through in this one tho. He chopped the firewood so members won't get hurt, he was glad he found the screw in his portion and someone else didn't, and he made sure they had food the next day and planned to go fishing. Also big shout out to Mingyu our literal all-rounder. They really had to do anything to survive. Nana Tour would be a good choice after OFD!! As you said yourself, you wont mind the song spoilers too much and it will be very rewarding to watch after this ~~ I'm sure you already know but there are a few prelude videos to watch before Nana (Chattering with God of Music 1 and 2) as a 'teaser' for the show so i'll just link those again once it's almost time for Nana Tour reactions <3

Tiffani

Nana tour after this pleaseeeee

Priyanka Banerjee

Them eating with the screw in their 라면 reminds me of when Jeonghan's pimple patch dropped into his 열무콩 보리밥 during a livestream and he couldnt find it so just continued eating until he found it in his mouth lol. ㅠㅠ The screw one more dangerous tho ㅠㅠ

konekochan

wait omg that moment is so iconic tho, I want to share that clip once they get to Henggarae album 😂😂

Quwarichi

Watching Seventeen eat is so therapeutic because they get so excited and happy about eating so seeing them NOT get to eat and having their food TAKEN AWAY from them is almost traumatic. Why are we starving them. Hoshi needs kimchi every day or he actually starts losing his spirit. Give them rice, at least! They'll still cook and everything, just let them have basic necessities! Even prisoners get food a few times a day! What's interesting is that it seems that even without interference, if you dropped Seventeen on a tiny island, they could make it just fine. And if I remember correctly the staff just told the head of the village that they're gonna film there and the fact that they probably needed to get permission to film there makes me think that the head of the village at least let the residents know. But the members never went back to the island, to the public knowledge. Also, about Wonwoo: from what I gathered when I looked into it, it's not that he's allergic to seafood, it's that he genuinely cannot eat it. The smell and the feel of it is apparently so repulsive to him he used to hunt down the tiny pieces his family put in his food and pick them out because he couldn't stand it. Some people are like that, can't eat cucumber or fish. What's cool about this show is that it actually created a lot of moments and nicknames that were still being mentioned 9 years later, 10 years later. It really is essential for later shows. I don't know if I could convince you guys to watch season 2, and honestly I don't think season 2 is as important for Nana Tour, but you know what show I feel like is but wasn't mentioned? Hit The Road. If there was ever a show that proved Seventeen needed Nana Tour, it's Hit The Road.

Brianna E

I think with this show I feel the cultural difference moreso than other k-content I've watched over the years. It was interesting to hear your perspectives, and how you aren't finding it overly harsh. Maybe I'd be able to find it more entertaining if they went into it aware of the actual premise of the show (and if all the members were at least adults), and obviously it's great to see the members work together to make the best of the situation, but just knowing how tough rookies already have it in the idol industry, especially from a smaller label, and the power dynamics at play on top of that, it just doesn't sit right for me. It also bothers me that the producers likely took away the extra food they were given in order for the eventual games to "win" bonus food to have more impact. Maybe that's me overthinking things, I'd love to give them the benefit of the doubt that they may have had some kind of food off screen but it doesn't feel like it to me. Regardless of my personal feelings about the show, I am enjoying seeing your reactions and hearing a different perspective from my own! Agree with others as well that Nana Tour works great once this is over, like you said you're not planning on watching everything chronologically leading up to it so I don't think there's any one show that would make more sense to watch first. Edit to add my thoughts on the Hit the Road recommendations: It's a great documentary that does give a lot of insight into the members and where they were at that point in their career (2019 iirc), but I honestly think HS know the members/general korean idol music industry enough to understand and have an appreciation for why Nana Tour was such a great experience for Seventeen without needing to watch specific content such as Hit the Road.

Mi

The first two episodes are the hardest to watch, but it gets better. They get more food and adapt, it gets easier to watch, luckily! For whats next to watch: I would like it, if you watch in the soop 1 first and then nana tour, but I would be fine with nana tour right after this too.

Mi

Oh hit the road would be nice too, it's also rather short in comparison

heavenscloud17

if it was possible to finish whole shows in 1 day I would've said do in the shop 1 and 2 before Nana Tour, not necessarily due to spoilers or getting even more comfortable with the members but because I feel like by watching the shows in order you can see like the gradual changes or even similarities in members and their relationships. however since ik its not possible to finish these things in a day and I'm impatient I would defo say just move onto Nana Tour next, as circling back to the other shows later won't really affect anything

Hannie 1004

Yesss please.. I hope they do Hit The Road first before Nana Tour.. its a good filler as each episode are just 10-12min & also a good way to understand each mmber more beyond the variety show format.. 🙏🙏🙏

Hannie 1004

Please do "Hit the Road" before going to Nana Tour. each ep are just 10-12mins 🙏🙏🙏 it will be a good filler in between & to get to understand the members more beyond the Variety show setting. And i think you will appreciate Nana tour more after watching Hit The Road & wud understand why Nana Tour is such healing show to both Seventeen & Carats..

Aman

I second watching a shorter content like Hit the Road before Nana tour just to get a different insight to each member before the iconic series we love so much!! Also , I feel like hit the road is super underrated on how much you get a peak into the personalities of the members! Can’t wait for ITS as well!

HISA

I think the next NANATour is a good choice, as it seems both of you can’t wait any longer. It’s a bit long, but I’d recommend the full version. I suggested the ‘Production Announcement Press Conference’ as a starter, but if an hour seems too long, you might want to start by watching the 7-minute preview of Sc.Jh.Wo. and NaPD!

Marnz

I do want to see Nana Tours again but best to watch HIT the Road, shorter and In the Soop 1, 2.

To answer your question, Nana Tour is quite different from Youth Over Flowers. Na PD actually changed the concept specifically for SEVENTEEN. In Youth Over Flowers, the cast has to figure everything out themselves. Such as budgeting, transportation, food, and other travel logistics. But in Nana Tour, SEVENTEEN doesn’t have to worry about those things. The trip is designed to be more of a healing and relaxing experience for them. That said, the show still keeps some elements from Youth Over Flowers, like the surprise “kidnapping” at the start. Overall, it really feels like a project that shows how much Na PD cares about SEVENTEEN. If I had to recommend something to watch before Nana Tour, I’d suggest Hit the Road. It’s not required, but it gives more context and shows how much SEVENTEEN truly needed a break, which makes Nana Tour feel even more meaningful and rewarding to watch. Plus, each episode of Hit the Road is pretty short, it’s around 10–13 minutes so it’s easy to watch a few in one sitting.

shin tan

Lets do Nana tour. I just want to see a newer content, along side the ealier ones. Juseyo.

Mi

Edit: skip in the soop and watch that later. And please watch the Chattering With Na PD episodes with seventeen which came out before the release of NANA Tour, they are kine of like a teaser.

For some reason, I was always under the impression that Coups really did offer a bite of chocolate to all the members but that some members probably turned it down (if I ate mostly dalgona like Wonwoo, I'd be sick of sweets too poor guy) because of the part where it says: 'the 13 good boys, it's nice to see them taking a bite under the blanket'. I also thought so because of how Dino reacted to Seungkwan eating that sausage since both Dino and Seungkwan ate the chocolate but he still questioned Seungkwan's team spirit for eating the sausage XD. Then again, it's Dino and Seungkwan, and the edit wasn't clear, so who knows what happened. I love how SVT are so close that they say they'll joke about doing something mean and not actually do it. In the previous episode, Jeonghan joked that they should let the PFU find the house on their own, but if you pay attention to the shot where the PFU reach the house, you'll see that Woozi, Coups and Mingyu went out to fetch them. Also Jeonghan (because ofc it's Jeonghan again) joked that he, Joshua and Coups should eat the chocolate themselves, but it's Jeonghan's blanket they're hiding under to share the chocolate. It's not just that they can joke about fighting and bullying each other but in the previous episode, Coups wiped Seungkwan's runny nose with his bare hand. I feel like the music industry (not just kpop, but everywhere) like to use friendship as a marketing ploy and even exaggerate how close groups actually are, but I remember comments about the bare hand/nose wiping thing like "I think only my mother would do that for me and even then I'm not sure" which showed that SVT's closeness, even during their rookie days, was not just genuine but that they were close to a bizarre degree. I mean, it would be crazy to do something kind of gross like that just for the camera. Seungkwan didn't even react so it was like he was used to it XD. It's not just Coups and Seungkwan btw, there's plenty of footage of SVT's complete lack of boundaries/personally space with each other. I think the craziest thing is watching them eat food that's practically been in another member's mouth. I get exasperated when they act shocked that illnesses spread easily among them, like gee, why do you think that is? This isn't to say that you have to be like this to be close, but I think it contributes to the joke about SVT being a single organic entity or the bluetooth-connected idols (because of their synchronicity) because they even share germs. This is an unrelated point but, this is the first time I actually sat through the recorded commercials while watching this because I wanted to hear your analyses. That tire ad was cool-looking but confusing as hell. Final, semi-unrelated thing: Here's my warning/advice: always have something to eat when watching SVT content. You're just torturing yourself otherwise.

Mira ❀

Oh please, just go easy on the poor babies! It still makes my blood boil to see them struggle for a meal x’D But it's in these moments of hardship that we see how their journey has shaped who they are today. Whether it's their adaptability in the face of the unexpected – which turned into a literal survival instinct – or that beautiful spirit of mutual support and protection. The way they've learned to care for one another through every struggle, that deep bond and unity born from adversity is exactly what makes Seventeen so special. We're getting to NANA Tour, I promise! 😉 Aside from Going Seventeen, it's true that you haven't watched much full-group content yet – since you’ve mostly focused on units or solo appearances. And I really think it'll hit harder if you soak in more full-group content first, especially in "travel" or "stay" formats like One Fine Day or In The Soop. You'll appreciate the group dynamics so much more once you've seen them in this kind of setting. In The Soop, particularly, is one of my favorite SVT content: it's so healing and really captures their true, natural selves. On a completely different note, Hit The Road is a great shout too, like some others mentioned. Just a heads-up though: that documentary is a real heartbreaker. That said, I'm actually so excited for you to eventually dive into NANA Tour because it's such a complete standout and so dearly loved, and I just know you're going to absolutely adore every second of it! 😊

Cipher

I'd recommend In The Soop to watch next but honestly, you can already watch NaNa Tour. In The Soop & NaNa Tour are both healing in their own ways, so it doesn't exactly matter which comes first. there's also a beauty in circling back to the older series. in case you'd decide to watch a shorter series, you can try Hit The Road which is a total of 15 episodes but ave of 11 mins per ep.

Jill Estrada

Guys…. It’s time to double up on 17 content. They have years more content than all the other groups you feature. Pleassseeee!!!!

grapefruit

i think they already doubled up for us

grapefruit

i second this! i don't think we need another series

can

i kinda want you to watch In The Soop first because it's like the upgraded version of their fire making and cooking after watching this episode lmao but of course if you want to jump into nana tour next, that'll be great too

shirin

I found it really unfair that they had to return the kimchi and the rice because they did work for those. They found a way and made it work. While I feel for the boys because this situation was really harsh on them, this series really made me appreciate them so much. They're very self-sufficient. With all that was happening, they still found a way to entertain themselves and the audience. And they were still 7-month rookies then! Imagine the faith and trust that the production (and higher-ups - both OFD's and Pledis' sides) had on the group for them to create a show that would rely this heavily on the group's chemistry, teamwork and entertainment value. NANA Tour had elements of Youth Over Flowers but they can't make it the same exact format. Of the 5 seasons of Youth Over Flowers, they've never had a cast of more than 5 people. I've only watched the Reply 1988 and Winner seasons, but in those they had to find their own accommodation, food and travel means. It would have been a logistical nightmare for NA PD's team to have Seventeen do that. I'll include spoiler-free descriptions of their other shows and hope it helps you decide what you want to watch next. They're all really great but also very different so it all really depends on what kind of show you are in the mood for. One Fine Day in Japan - Also a travel variety show. More in line with the original format of OFD. Hit the Road - A behind-the-scenes documentary of their 'Ode to You' world tour in 2019. Candid and emotional. In The Soop S1 and S2 - Very chill. The members are left to their own devices. Minimal (if at all) production intervention. NANA Tour - A travel variety show, so there is an itinerary. Also since it's NA PD, it wouldn't be a spoiler to say that there are a lot of games. NANA BNB - A staycation variety show. Think of it as a Seventeen version of '3 Meals A Day' (NA PD's show). A lot of games and a lot of cooking and eating.

dav

I'm fine with anything either it is In the shop or Nana tour But I can assure u Nana tour will be so nostalgic after you watch it I saw many svt content and Nana tour is one of the most nostalgic among all 😭😭😭 when I see clips of the show I wanna rewatch it immediately

dav

I've seriously read “Of course it's Jeonghan„ exactly in D-Some voice😭 Girrrl “Because they're even share germs” is so funny I cant

Jade V

I saw a bit of the discourse in the comments of the first episode and I agree with you guys that OFD isn't too harsh. The only meals they didn't have supplies for were the first dinner (but they had had a big seafood buffet for lunch just before) and first breakfast on the island. I also thought the staff was mean to force them to return the food they had gotten from the neighbours when I first watched it but then you find out the staff had set up a whole game to give them supplies right after, so it's not like they were actually going to let them starve. Maybe it's because I've been in Kpop since 2012 and have since my fair share of variety shows so I know what to expect but compared to things like Law Of The Jungle, this isn't too bad. I can understand newer fans being shocked if they have never been exposed to it though, but it's clear by the end of this show that the boys enjoyed the experience and learned a lot from it even though it wasn't always smooth sailing.

anayahss

nana tour next please! it's such a beloved little show and really captures the dynamic of present seventeen. i agree with the comments that say to watch chattering with nah first then nana tour. for these kind of variety shows the order doesn't matter as much to me because we can enjoy them as standalones and in their entirety. nana bnb, in the soop, ofd 2 are all super fun and enjoyable as next watches. they are all so baby here 😭 watching them start their own fire, sharing food, and have those moments with each other is so precious 🥹🥹 and thinking of some of their recent shows (coughnanabnbcough) they really haven't changed much huhuhu

Cn Ngb

I’d recommend chattering with Na /Nana Tour next 🥹

Eiyel

i’m all in for nana tour next, especially with chattering with na as the intro, but since you’re about to finish 17 Debut Plan, i think it’d be nice to squeeze in hit the road first since it’s pretty short

T_큐티_섹시_러블리

Please react to NANA Tour straight away. There's even behind cuts :) An additional request, please react to episode one in FULL instead of cutting them up in parts and uploading them on different days. I understand that the episode is loooong, but NANA Tour holds a very special place in Carat's hearts and it feels more meaningful and sentimental to watch that episode as a whole.

Muhammad Amin

I think nana tour and Nana bnb are the final peak, if you want to see them grow slowly watch Svt In The Soop S1 and S2.

T. A

One fine day season 2, In the soop season 1, In the Soop season 2, then Nana Tour, Waggle Waggle, Nana BnB

T. A

In the Soop 1 and 2 is definitely the better choice next, before nana tour

T. A

In the Soop definitely feels like the natural next step before nana tour

Cipher

same coz ITS is somehow a direct continuation of OFD. it'll show them the growth & maturity of the boys. also ITS will show them more of how the boys are total foodies which will kinda explain how the boys seem like they don't get too full & eat whatever is being served in Nana Tour 😅 but I'll still go with whatever they decide after this ❤️

Jessa

I recommend watching them in order since it will make you appreciate things more. From OFD s2 to In the soop 1 & 2, and Hit The Road documentary. I dont know maybe it's because I watched them in order that I saw their growth as an idol and an individual. You'll see different things from how their variety selves grew since OFD S2 started befofe GoSe. In the soop 1 & 2, you'll see the members comforting each other during a rough time (individually) since ITS 1 was filmed during Your Choice album as well as their contract renewal. In The Soop 2 was filmed in between the schedule of their Be The Sun World Tour, so they literally had a small break in between which they deserved. Hit the Road is also a good watch before In The Soop 2. You'll get to see their struggles during their schedules and off camera.

Jessa

I suggest to watch in this order: OFD Japan - In the Soop 1 - Hit The Road - In the Soop 2 - Nana tour - Waggle Waggle - Nana BNB.

Jessa

I know it's tempting to watch Nana Tour right away, but the shows before Nana tour made me appreciate their Europe tour more. Most likely it's because of their openness in their struggles of the shows before nana tour: teamwork for OFD Japan, personal struggles during pandemic in ITS 1, Group and Individual struggles for Hit The Road documentary and ITS 2. Nana tour is a light and enjoyable watch compared to OFD Japan, ITS 1 & 2, and Hit The Road. They're just having their best time of their lives in Nana Tour. I just think it's best to end in light atmosphere.

Undercover Eunice

I think you should watch Nana Tour next. I don't think it's necessary to watch them in order. I feel like Nana Tour does a great job of highlighting the members so you get to know them a little better. And then Nana BNB highlights their relationship to each other. I revisit both shows periodically.

dav

Honestly I am down for Nana tour. It doesn't require certain info since there aren't much context and inside jokes behind and I am pretty sure you're already familiar with SVT to simply enjoy any content!! Tbh I just missed recent SVT even tho it's been few years

SZWI

Nana tour next ❤️❤️❤️

gyuzii

I understand why every one wants nana tour so bad cuz it’s really fun but my thing with it is that scoups isn’t in it much because he didn’t go with them 😭 that’s why I want In The Soop first (at least the first one) and then nana tour to see more ot13 dynamic first. buttt I guess in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter because they’re going to get to all of it anyways at some point (right..? 😅) but yeah! there’s also Hit The Road documentary as well which is a good short one! which I thinkk you can watch anytime but for sure has to be watched before Nana BNB, because there is a major song spoiler (the entire song) for Us,Again - which is the epilogue for HTR anyways love scoups being the wood chopper here LOL This is the start to him being seventeen’s wood chopping pro 🤣 what a strong leader, axecoups LOL

Ariel Farah

It could be cool to do this order, one fine day castaways - in the soop 1 - nana tour - one fine day japan - in the soop 2 - nana bnb?

jumpingcat34

I think ti will be good to do in the soop 1 next. To be honest I havent watch in the soop and nana tour

Ianha

I think you guys are more than ready to watch Nana Tour. Whenever I go any svt event places in Korea, I met new carats and more than 60%of them said that they became a fan because of Nanatour or during the period when Nanatour aired. So did I. I watched Nana tour just after checking Game Caterers and some gose episodes. And…I became a carat and found my bias! I think this explains the beauty of Nanatour. Can’t wait to watch your reaction to Nanatour.
