Not what we expected, but has it ever?

That's why we love SVT. :)

Firstly, Seungkwan is our MVP. He works the best when the song's got a slightly dark tone to it. He's just perfect for that kind of sound.

Secondly, and again, not what we expected. We thought it'd be a very chill, sweet, SVT track, but nope. It was way heavier than we thought. And we loved that it wasn't what we had in mind :D

Lastly, DINO CHOREOGRAPHY is a CRAZY line to read at the END of a performance video. SHOUTOUT DINO for an incredible choreo. Performance unit never ceases to amaze us!

We'll talk more about this one in the comments with you all, but for now, ROCKET.

FLOWER!!! IN MY TOP 5 SEVENTEEN SONGS OF ALL TIME!!! Thank you Teen,Age for MIXTEEN THE ALBUM!!!! It's just so good, Dino CHOREOGRAPHY, Seungkwan VOCALS, Minghao and Wonwoo RAP, Jeonghan's VOICE, Scoups ABSOLUTELY TEARING HIS THROAT FOR THAT LAST PART. Every performance of Flower where he growls is cherished in my heart. My favorite part is the transition between Jeonghan's heavenly part to Scoups' hellish (in a good way) part is so good. I just love every live performance Scoups line he knows how to dominate a stage. Han-c saying that Teen,Age is gonna be his favorite album is so real it's my favorite FULL ALBUM of Seventeen even to this day INCLUDING HAPPY BURSTDAY AND THE FAMOUS FACE THE SUN. It's kinda funny I did a calculation the other day, and if we leave room for 1-3 extra videos for each album, by the end of 2026 you might be reaching An Ode, which is the NEXT full album from Seventeen put out in 2019. Good news because it means you can experience the song that is Network Love, which I think can fight some of the best B-sides you've heard so far, and sad news because that means no Left & Right for Han-c until early 2027, but we have so many tracks in the middle and so many mini albums because back then Seventeen used to put out like 2.5 albums per years! AND STARTING IN 2018 THE JAPANESE SINGLES ARE JOINING THE MIX AND YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THEM!!! NEXT UP! ROCKET! Flower is my favorite in this album along with Change Up, love the darkness of it and that big chorus is sooo satisfying. Pretty sure the "yeh~"s in the pre-chorus are Bumzu, I don't really hear Woozi's voice but I could be wrong. Next track is a super fun one ! You get to hear more of Vernon's personal style in it and he has quite a recognizable touch lol

Tbh Flower isn't my most played svt track but my god I am absolutely addicted to Scoups part 😫 And I love it more after watching that concert version. And with such a title, yes youre so right, the sound is very unexpected I dont think we can get another unit like this again, because the Flower unit basically has the members that aren't in the other mix units. So for this album: - Hoshi x Woozi for Bring It - Coups, Jeonghan, Minghao, Wonwoo, Seungkwan, Dino for Flower - Shua and Vernon for Rocket - Jun, DK, Mingyu for Hello It's so sweet to hear when Han-C said this reminded him of the first tracks u checked out for seventeen hence the nostalgia. I know youve got a lot more of svt to check out, but youve already come a long way as well Next up is Rocket!!! Idk if anyone has mentioned this but Still Lonely was choreographed by Hoshi and Dino.. and if there's something I miss ,, that would Dino's choreos that he drops randomly.

Okay, please bear with me because I LOVE. THIS. SONG. and I have many thoughts. So many that I had my notes app open so I could jot down ideas so I hopefully didn't forget any of them. Firstly, yes the contrast of the song being named Flower and then when it starts realizing - oh, it's a hard song? SO GOOD. This song is on my workout playlist and definitely up there as one of my favourite SVT tracks. I love when they play with a darker/heavier sound, similar to Fear! For how well know they are for their brighter/funkier sound, I think this sound suits them just as well, but I love that they can do both (and more!) I also thought that Seungkwan's voice is perfectly suited to this darker sound and he KILLED that chorus, and Jeonghan's voice contrasted his beautifully, I loved that we got the space to really appreciate Jeonghan's tone here. And then S. Coups and Wonwoo's darker timbres (SO. HOT.) also suited this song so well! My one critique/note, or maybe just observation is that to me it felt like The8's rap part wasn't as tailored for his voice, and I definitely could be biased here because I love his singing tone so much, I preferred the line he sang near the beginning of the song. Sometimes I feel that where the vocal and hip hop units have more distinct roles, the performance unit serve as chameleons who have to be more flexible in adapting their voice to the needs of a particular track, which is great in that we see the range of their abilities, but at least to me it feels like sometimes that means their parts are less distinct/unique to each of the performance unit members' voices. Sidenote, I feel like I've seen clips of Dino creating and/or teaching some of the choreo to the members before. I could definitely be making that up or confusing it with another song, but if any videos do exist for that I would love if someone could share the links!! Finally, so curious what your thoughts will be on Rocket next week. I have no links to share, but just to make you more curious I have a chart to try and keep track of my music library/playlists and beside Rocket I just have the note "why tf do I like this song??". So, yeah.

Flower wow. I feel it has some kinda special charm to it which makes me like it so much! And yea Dino choreographed it. And I have also seen some behind clips of him making the choreo and teaching the members. I can find a fanmade edit on yt but idk where the original clips are from.

Flower is one of my favorite songs on this album and, dare I say, SVT songs. I encountered this song at the beginning of my carat journey but now that it's been some years, I can so clearly see Dino's style in the choreography. A beautiful "Flower" indeed 😊 I've had this one on repeat so many times, I just love the intensity and the raw emotion it conveys. You're spot on about the depth behind Seungkwan’s bright persona. His raspy vocals suit these darker registers perfectly, but it's the heart behind the voice that really gets me. Since their debut, he's carried the weight of the group on his shoulders, constantly pushing for opportunities to make Seventeen shine, and often hiding his own fears behind a smile. He has such a sensitive soul and a resilient heart. Truly our "Giving Tree" x'D This track is full of highlights. Jeonghan is stunning here, especially when he pushes his vocals with such power and emotion. Then there's The8, with his unique timbre and that perfect mix of fluid and sharp dancing, and of course, Wonwoo's charisma and Coups' sheer intensity on stage. I remember how they left such a huge impression on me at the time. And we can't forget our "little giant" maknae – a true multi-talented king. It's amazing to see him so deeply involved in the creative process and literally setting the pace for the group. If you're ever curious (I actually suggested this for the first Seventeen special livestream!), I'd highly recommend checking out his DANCEOLOGY series. Seeing him create original choreographies and collaborate with the other members is really inspiring. He’s a creative powerhouse and a relentless worker. Truly admirable. "Rocket", alright, let's go! One of my personal darlings and such a fun track. Definitely a happy pill for me whenever I need a little boost 😙

I think I see what you mean by Seungkwan's voice. If I remember correctly, he also said something about it when he recorded an OST that his voice tends to match sad songs more than happy ones so he has to put in extra effort for those. super interesting to me because I never thought of it that way (that some voices match specific moods) ROCKET IS NEXT YAY Vernon and Joshua were my first 2 bias/bias wrecker duo in SVT hehe 💖 so excited for you to hear it ^_^ When you revisit the album, maybe you can also watch GoSe 2019 Ep. 5 since that's a caratland behind which includes songs from this album (specifically unit reverses hehe). I unfortunately don't have the links to the actual caratland performances :< Also, I have a question: will you also be listening to their Japanese releases? Flower (and your excitement over musical-esque choreo) made me think of one of their JP releases called Fallin' Flower hehe. I was just wondering since it'll be in Japanese and you mainly react to Korean lyrics/music?
