Ohhh this one's gon be FUN to talk about with you all :D

So firstly, there is the strategy misfire.

We thought it was a risky but entertaining move, and obviously, that worked out for the worse for Jeonghan's team, but they kept it going and made it work with lots of fun twists and turns, so overall, we say this was a success as a show.

It's a variety show, and whatever problem occurs, there is always a way to solve it—in this case, it was the PD getting involved, which was awesome. Would it have been more ideal if things could work without him getting involved? Of course. But given the situation, that definitely saved the day. :D

Now, the problem, or confusion, came from the RULES.

We talk plenty about it, so we won't really go into it here, but we'd love to know what you thought about this one!!

And of course, for now, ENJOY <3

It’s a good morning!!! Watching going seventeen is the best! Thank you for reacting!

Rewatching GoSe really does put it in perspective how much silently Hannie carries the show. Yes the PD getting involved was for me the best most interesting part and like yes Mingyu's team put a lot of thought into it and they were amazing with their strategies but I very much side with the winning team. Actually when the episode came out SVT variety content popularity was also rising rapidly and because of that (not to blame) baby carats who didn't really have an experience with how SVT play games didn't like Jeonghan doing this and were calling him selfish you know the regular blind toxic stuff on twitter but it also wasn't that serious but yeah there was a lot of chatter around this episode on twitter.

and thats the day they learned you shouldn't mess with Yoon Jeonghan 😏😏(and Coups, especially if they're on the same team). His plan failed in the beginning, but he made sure to come out as the winner still. The twist at the end absolutely floored me when I first watched this!! I didn't even know a whole controversy happened until SK brought it up in a future episode. While svt can be very competitive (mygoodness I was also so nervous seeing them running around on slippery floors, CLIMBING THAT LADDER), at the end of the day, they're not greedy about the prize money or the outcomes. I'm sure they all wanted to show Carats and Cubics a fun episode, and it's all just a game 😌So kudos to the PDs too for enabling Jeonghan's mischief 😂 Ok EGO next!!! I mentioned this before, but Minghao and Jun won't be in the next episodes for a while. But I'm sure you'll love the rest of GoSe 2021. Fair warning, Ego gets really scary, so treat it like you're going to watch a real horror movie :D

oh my god i can't wait for you guys to watch EGO! it's SO CREEPY. similar to wanteez hunt, i couldn't watch this at night because it is SO creepy. no spoilers, but this was the episode i really could tell that the GOSE team put in a LOT of effort into making and planning these episodes. catch stock was very controversial and jeonghan got a lot of flak on social media for this, but i feel it's very seventeen of them to break the rules of the game like this. in the end, they did it for the sake of the show and to make things more fun, and i'm sure the members talked it out amongst themselves and worked things out.

I've always paid more attention to Jeonghan (bias things) but this episode made me realize just how much he carries GoSe. Not saying the other members don't, but you know what i mean.. you can see it too, how the gears turn in his head throughout these episodes. So yea, he got so much hate from this episode (I think that was the "controversy") that it made me notice his role in a whole new way. Anyway, really really excited for Ego!!

Yess rewatching GoSe really does put it in perspective how much silently Hannie carries the show. Ofcourse all the members do amazing but the more times you watch the more you see the little things. And yes the hate was very unnecessary which I feel bad for him because no hate to other members but nobody brings spice to these games like Hannie.

Ok, first time watching these episodes and the rules also confused me slightly re: the teams not having the same amount of money to work with. Hyunseok's "interference" 100% needed to happen in my opinion, because it would've been so boring otherwise with Mingyu's team setting their values so much lower in comparison to Jun's team (unless I'm still confused and misunderstanding something). And the whole point of Going is that they do push the rules/limits to try and get away with as many shenanigans as possible, so I feel like cheating/making deals/bribing, whatever you want to call it, is expected and fair game at this point. For me with these slightly more complex strategy games, the entertainment comes less from the game itself, and moreso from the gameplay of the members, if that makes sense. I think the PDs leave a lot of room for interpretation/loopholes on purpose so they can see where the members are willing to take the game, and adapt accordingly so the episodes can evolve more organically in real time with the members' active contributions. This makes Going Seventeen a lot more engaging in my opinion, because you never know where they'll end up taking the content.

Handsome Sausages

WOW so uh, yeh, the "controversy" being about Jeonghan was the last thing on our bingo card XD let me tell you THAT with certainty. Zero issues there; if anything I thought MAYBE ppl didn't like the entire bit with the PD getting involved (which still doesn't make sense cuz the game would've been boring otherwise). Whatever the case, they most likely aren't fun at parties...

Handsome Sausages

Yeh but then again, riot on twitter is never by anyone over 12, so I don't count that as real people. XD CONTEXT PPL. It's a variety show :D Fine not to like the episode for how it turned out, but you can't hate on a member for trying to save it with the PD! :)

Dawndream

exactly! i basically saw the discourse happening and moved on, LOL. at the end of the day, it's a show, and them doing their utmost to save it with the PD was actually really nice of them!

That's also the reason I don't like that sometimes fans take the games to face value and portray Jeonghan as the swindler and liar "oh he is just a cheat and that's all he does" and so on while ignoring the efforts that he puts into GoSe and how much he loves that show and the members.

Marnz

Love Jeoghan’s wit… he is always scheming something for entertainment. I enjoyed these episodes… learning about stocks, physical way kind of educated us on how stock markets goes up and down or plus or minus. Members always in competition…

Bemenotme

That is why I like episode 58, imho Jeonghan can win the games without his schemes if he wants, but he brings so much to GoSe with his “cheating” side, SO he needs to do it

Okay, so I did not watch this in 2021 but in 2022 or 2023. So I'm not aware of the controversy that happened, but I was personally annoyed at the PD a bit with what happened in the end. Now, you did mention that you have seen such interferences by PDs before in Infinite Challenges, etc. But that was not the case for me, so it was kinda new, that too on such a big scale. But still, I can understand the interferences if things don't make it too much of an unfair advantage for any team. Like for Mousebusters, Jeonghan and team make a deal with the PD to inform the location of where the mice are hiding, since it was so difficult for them to find it right? So that was completely okay with me cuz it makes sense and doesn't give an unfair advantage to them, and was honestly needed. But here the reason Mingyu and team were winning cuz the other team made a mistake with their pricing strategy in the first round. So technically, Mingyu and his team didn't even need the 20% deal at all; they could just win if things played out. But I understand why PDnims gave that deal, requesting to try and make the prices as close as possible cuz that gives the other team a chance to win at least. Which is again fair. But they added the clause that "in the last round I(PD) will tell you the other team plan" that again kinda made me think like "but why then Jun's team again gets disadvantaged", but okay lets see. But then giving the Mingyu team wrong info and tricking them didn't really sit well with me. It's also like a breach of trust cuz they would also not think that false info would be shared. Like this is how I see it should have been, don't give any wrong info to the Mingyu team, just don't give any info at all. Give them something else for Mingyu's team for agreeing to catch up with the score. Like how in Noraebang, the team that won in 10 minutes got those special coupons to continue the episode (Just an 예시). Cuz if we see how round 4 played out, we can see that the Jun team have +1,000,000 and hides well, right? So even if the Mingyu team had no info or the right info, they could still not find them. And since rest was negative, they could still lose. Or if they found them, they found Jun's team and Mingyu's team wins. So no one's trust is broken, and things still play out just as they did with the deal. Now I know, I know it can be said that even with the deal, if Minygyu's team found someone in round 1, they can still win, but like there is still a break of trust, and yes maybe it's chill with the members and all, but yeah I guess I felt bad for them cuz they did it all right, so it was not needed. And also Jun's team seemed to have got the correct info about Mingyu's team for the 60%. Cuz at 1:09:40 Jeonghan says that we will give you 60% and you can leak their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round stock price. So basically! What I'm trying to say is that I personally feel that it's okay to interfere only if it's fair for all members. So sorry... but yes, I am one of the Carats who did feel a bit 기분 상하다 and still feel the same when I watch this ep. So I never rewatch this ep by myself. And seriously, I don't have anything against the members, for me it was more towards the way the PDs intervened.... And really sorry, I know I'm one of the minorities, but yeah. And sorry for the long comment.

Thunder Monkey

Ego! Ego! Ego! 🩵🩷 no Spoiler Kwons here!

8watermelon7

han c don't worry the next ep is not actually THAT scary. it gives psychological thriller more than horror... with some jump scares. it's creepy and spooky, especially during the night scenes, but I wouldn't say it's really scary imo. and that's coming from someone who refuses to watch horror/thrillers of any kind and is a self certified wimp😂

Fay

Whenever more than one of the 95z are in the same team, the gameplay is insane😭😭

Fay

honestly i never understood the criticism for this episode like at the end of the day it’s a variety show and they are masters at entertaining us and i was thoroughly entertained😭the twist at the end will always be iconic
