Yay!!! OMG!!! Chase is a huge Atiny. She was on Tablo's podcast with Hongjoong and Mingi then on MMTG with Woosan. So much to check out. Wooyoung sounds amazing in this album. In their Season's Greetings video, Woo said he's been working on his vocals to help Jongho with the high notes especially. I'm so proud. Can't wait for your LeeMujin Service reaction. ALSO, YEOSANG!!!!!!!!!!

The live stage of this is amazing. I love seeing Chase become a successful Atiny. She has been telling anyone who'll listen that she loves ATEEZ, including Leo DiCaprio and Paul Thomas Anderson (the director) from One Battle After Another. She said she thinks the director even added an ATEEZ easter egg in the movie by putting "ATZ" on the license plate of the car she drove in the movie because she talked about them so much. Chase ATINYs even more than I ATINY - and that's saying a lot! I just don't buy photocards or have a dance crew. I saw clips of her on pretty much every red carpet in the movie industry talking about ATEEZ being her ult group - someone even asked her BTS bias and she made sure to talk about ATEEZ! A debut ATINY who even went to the Expedition Tour 4 months after debut. She's the real deal.

Firstly, before the rambling ensues I will second/third/etc. all the recommendations to check out the Hey Tablo episode with Chase, Hongjoong, and Mingi, you'll get the full lore on how her role came about! (It's also just an amazing episode, so please check it out!) Secondly, love when you're able to do the full album reactions in one sitting, it's always great getting to hear the album from top to bottom in one sitting, and hear your thoughts not just on each song but on the album overall as well while your thoughts are fresh on each track. Final disclosure, this was my first time listening to all the tracks except for Bad, which I checked out a few times already. Now that that's all out of the way, here are my thoughts on the actual songs/album: Bad- wasn't expecting how much I'd love this song, this easily takes the crown as my favourite Golden Hour title track overall (probably would've been Work before, but I much preferred b-sides to title tracks in the previous GH albums). The bad pronunciation also bothered me on the first listen, but I do agree I think the "correct" pronunciation would've sounded awkward, and I quickly warmed up to it. The song just has the perfect vibe and I'm here for it! Mamacita- going in I thought this was going to be my favourite track on this album, and it's definitely up there for me but I think I slightly prefer Bad, at least for now. Will have to see if my opinion changes once I've heard it a few more times, either way I still love it (although Blind remains my ultimate favourite in terms of Ateez' latin-leaning tracks). Toxin- this one didn't stand out as much to me, I'll have to listen more to get a better feel for it. Fallin'- I was pretty overwhelmed by this one, and from the beginning I felt on the fence but then when the chorus hit the low part was pretty jarring to me, so this one isn't making my personal playlist. Body- I don't typically love/enjoy this style of track from Ateez, even from the teaser I didn't think I'd end up liking this song. This one's not making it on my playlist either. Sidenote, similarly to Han-C, in a few of the songs I really struggled to tell who was singing certain parts, and I have had that struggle in the past with Wooyoung typically, but here it felt like more parts than usual. Maybe with a few more listens I'll be able to distinguish them better, or maybe it's an intentional production choice, who knows? One other note, you talked a bit about the overall theme of the songs/lyrics mainly being about sex, and I'd seen similar discussions online already about the topic being the main focus of the songs/album as well. I haven't personally looked into the lyrics of the songs, as that's not my biggest priority when exploring new music, but I do wish that they had explored more diverse themes/messages. I'm all for a sexy song here and there, but with Lemon Drop and In Your Fantasy already both leaning that direction I was hoping for some other themes to be covered in this album. Final thoughts: Bad is amazing, overall solid album from Ateez, excited to see live performances, dance practices, etc, and PLEASE if you watch nothing else from their variety content for this comeback (obviously I know you'll watch more but you get what I mean XD) watch their Hey Tablo episode!

Just wanted to comment on on the pronunciation choice for "Bad"... 1- keep in my the songs cultural references and 2- think it may have been an intentional choice like a play on body aka "Bod". My favorite track was Fallin’, followed by Bad! For me, GH5 had similar vibes to Golden Hour Pt 1 and ARRIBA.

YAYYY!!!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR REACTION!!!!!! Yes, Chase is a huge Atiny! Been an Atiny since debut. She biases San! Watch the Hey Tablo episode!! For the pronunciation of "Bad", since I've seen a lot of English-speaking people talk about it. My understanding is they chose to pronounce the 'a' the way it's pronounced in Spanish, with a short 'ah' sound. Like Han-C said, if 'Bad' was pronounced with a long 'ayyyee' sound, like it is in English, the chorus would not hit the same and it would completely throw off the groove and rhythm of the song. -------------------------------------------------- ✨My thoughts on the album! ✨ -------------------------------------------------- GH5 beat out GH4 for me! It's now my second favorite of the Golden Hour series. GH2 still being my favorite. GH3 with Lemon Drop, IYF, and Masterpiece was like a tease. Lemon Drop and Masterpiece are playful, lighthearted, we're having a good time, eyeing each other up, teasing and flirting. IYF was like Ateez "we see what you're on", flirting, teasing, an invitation but not real commitment yet. GH5 is pure lust lmaooo. Both parties are committed to this. And the entire album is like a story of one singular perfect night out where two parties have noticed each other and feel a strong attraction to. As the songs progress from a night out of dancing and partying ('Bad' and 'Mamacita'), they get deeper into the night. In 'Toxin', the two people have consented and committed to this. Things are happening. But at the same time, "Ateez" is realizing there's a danger to this attraction. A toxicity if you will lol. But they keep going because it's honestly too late to stop now and they enjoy the pull the person has on them. Then we get into 'Fallin' where "Ateez" has completely lost control over their emotions and feelings, maybe even their sense of self with this person. It is sexy but at the same time it's scary because things have become deeper than they could have imagined. And then it's nicely completed with 'Body'. Which sounds like it would be an "aftercare" song, but in actuality it's a longing song. In 'Fallin', "Ateez" fell deep for this person to the point of losing themself, and yet, in 'Body' that person is not there the next morning. What started out as light and fun, turned into something heavier and deeper for "Ateez" and by the end of it, they're left with feelings of longing and regret, wishing they would've held on to that person. 'Body' perfectly ties this album together. I honestly am not sure if Ateez has an album that tells a story as good as GH5 does. Even if the message isn't incredibly deep, I feel this album just works completely as a whole. It makes me want to go back through the Golden Hour series specifically, and maybe further through their discography again to see if I can find an album that tells a full story like this.

My favorite is Toxin and Body. It does give me empty box yearning vibes. Honjoong said that with the Golden Hour series they want to experiment as much as they can. So that’s why there’s so many different genres between part 1-5 and whatever else they have in store for the golden hour series. He said that since they’re almost in their 30s they want this album to have more adult love. Hongjoong went crazy with interviews when he was “taking a break” in the US. So you have A LOT of interview videos to catch up on.

Since my previous comment is already so long, figured I would talk about each song in a new comment 😂 Also before I get started, I'm surprised you guys had trouble figuring out the voices. Outside of the chorus in 'Bad', everyone's voices on the album seem pretty distinct to me. --------------------------- 'Bad' - Love it, love it, love it!! It's such a fun song! Perfect to dance to and perfect for festivals! We got the Inkigayo stage AND a performance for The Kelly Clarkson Show! I can't wait to see more music stages for this song! Also, in contrary to what HS was worried about, Korea is loving Bad and GH5!! Just today I saw that GH5's first week album sales have beat out THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL on Hanteo. FIN: WILL has been #1 this entire time. And 'Bad' has reached a new peak on Melon, beating out 'Wave'! 'Bad' is trending really well, especially the chest pumping part with San in the outro 😍🫠 'Mamacita' - I knew I would love it! Another great dance song! Both Mingi and San said this song would be perfect at festivals, which I hope was a spoiler for something to come this summer. Ateez WILL be at Gayo Dejeon's Summer Festival this year 👀 The only thing I would change about Mamacita is that I wish they would've let the instrumental ride out instead of cutting it. That would've been perfect. Hopefully they go that route whenever they perform it. 'Toxin' - MY SONGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TOXIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite genre is R&B and when Ateez does R&B they just do it so well!! Toxin might very well be in top 5 of my favorite songs from the Golden Hour series as a whole! 🧑🏾‍🍳💋 Wooyoung and Yunho's vocals on this songgggg!!!!!!! EVERYBODY'S VOCALS!!!!!! It's just SOOOO good! PLEASE ATEEZ PLEASEE DON'T LEAVE THIS SONG IN THE BASEMENT!! TOXIN NEEDS TO BE PERFORMED!!!!!!! However, my ONLY critique on this song, is that once again, they should've let the instrumental ride out instead of it cutting it off. I would've loved if they ended 'Toxin' similar to how xikers's 'Trophy' ends, where the beat and instrumental is brought back in 1-2 beats after the singing is cut off. If they had done that Toxin probably would've been in my top 3 favorite songs from the GH series. 'Fallin' - My first thoughts on 'Fallin' were that it was very different from the first 3 songs and it was just fine. The "I'm falling deep" in the chorus was very overwhelming and really the only thing I could think of or pay attention to in that song. After a few more listens the song started melding together better for me. The instrumental is what does it for me on this song. 'Body' - At first, I liked this song, but it didn't really do much for me. It's the perfect relief and calm song after being overstimulated by the first four, but I didn't really gravitate towards it as much as the others. After a few listens and checking out the lyrics for this one though, I love 'Bad' a lot more. The message of longing and regret just perfectly ties this album together.

Okay, last comment for sure lol. Again, thought it might be a little long on the previous one haha 😅 --------------- Also wanted to share my highlight members for this album. 1. Wooyoung - The growth Wooyoung has made with his vocals! I am in absolute awe! I would say Wooyoung has always had killing parts in a great deal of Ateez's songs, but most of them were short parts. In this album, Wooyoung's vocals shine so much! The shared bridges with Jongho in 'Bad' and 'Fallin'. The fact he starts 'Mamacita' and 'Toxin'! He really shines on this album. 2. Mingi - Mingi is slidddinnnggg on this album! Rapping in Spanish and Korean?!? Sir, what?!? Each rap was unique. Each tone different. The lyrics. Just incredible all around for me. 3. Yunho - Yunho's vocals stood out so well for me on this album. Especially on Toxin! Wooyoung and Yunho on 'Toxin' are really just my favorite moments. I hope that both of them will sing more R&B songs.

AHH! Chase did amazing, she is an Oscar winning actress who is an atiny!!!!! She’s in the MV! This MV is packed with references to old ones (bouncy, guerilla, work, etc.) GHP5 is super important to their story/lore as well and being so musically awesome. For lore stuff you have to keep in mind that sopro is a manipulator/influence of emotions. of Toxin is my favorite! This album was wooyoung shining a lot. They have a comeback stage and Kelly clarkson stage and multiple dance practices out. They also performed at BST Hyde Park but most of those are fancams.

HELL YEAAAAAHHH I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS👹 I was actually surprised by how divided people’s opinions were on BAD because personally, I think BAD is actually my favorite title track out of the whole Golden Hour series so far lol And I think they did a great job with this kind of music. Especially for a summer comeback!!😭 I totally get that the genre isn’t for everyone or that it just isn’t some people’s taste, but I saw so many people who call themselves ATINY constantly dragging ATEEZ, especially this comeback.. Also they keep saying that ATEEZ has lost their identity. I love their originality too, but they’ve been trying new things throughout the whole Golden Hour series. I genuinely don’t understand why some people still choose to be fans if they can’t support ATEEZ whenever they try something new😩☹️ Anyway, that turned into a way longer comment than I meant to write 😂 I’m just genuinely so happy about this comeback! Seriously, you have to watch the dance practice and the live stages too. The choreography is insane. Oh, and I think you’ve heard about Chase by now, but she also talked about how she got cast for the MV on Hey Tablo with Hongjoong and Mingi! I actually became a fan of hers after watching OBAA, so this comeback feels extra special to me😆

Chase is the Atiny we all dream to be lol She’s SO cute when she met Woosan. One Battle is her first movie and the only piece of work the casting director could see was her kpop dance covers. So Ateez helped her out indirectly lol Chase became part of the lore! She is Sopro!

Not sure if this was commented already but about the pronunciation of BAD, if I remember correctly Hongjoong said that when they first made the track, it had a guide that just went “bap bap bap bap” to mark the rhythm and they liked the sound so much they decided to go with bad bad bad pronounced like that. Loved your reaction and really loving this album, it’s growing on me. I love when songs do that, when they get better the more you listen to them 🙏

Chase was a predebut ATINY, went to all of the tours except IYF. As others have said watch the Hey Tablo podcast/Youtube episode w/her, Hongjoong & Mingi & also MMTG where she is surprised by WooSan. San has completely gone viral esp in Korea. Korea seems to finally be giving ATEEZ attention. They’ve talked about hoping to be recognized domestically. Hongjoong mentioned that they considered using BOD but BAD sounded better. It’s kind of like Jamaican & I saw someone mention British pronunciation..
