OMG WE LOVED IT | SEVENTEEN - V8's 'singasong' (MV) Reaction

The SEVENTEEN duo we've ALL been waiting for :D THE8 and Vernon, aka V8! We did think that they'd come up with some very cool sounds but don't think we had THIS in mind :) V8's singasong was a TRIP. Hyperpop sound with chiptune elements, shuffling, overloaded visuals, gaming and pop culture references, and of course, horses...? omgomggg it's here!! Singasong grew on me A LOT, I listen to it so much now. It's so funky and groovy and catchy. With Minghao's love for DJ-ing right now and Vernon's unique music style, this genre/sound wasn't surprising at all. I'm so glad they got to do music together <33 Also, I think V8's album has to be the most "non-seventeen" sound out of all the units so far (speaking at a positive note!) It's just so cool how fresh and unique their style is. The "maximalist" sound and video you said represents a combination of their artistry for me This is a really cool album and I cant wait to hear what you think about the B-sides. So excited you checked this out!! I think this duo is one of my favourites I've heard from Seventeen (#1 still remains Jeonghan x Wonwoo, I demand a comeback once Wonwoo is discharged). This album was such a refreshing, interesting listen, I was expecting something along the lines of the genre(s) we ended up getting so the overall sound wasn't too much of a surprise, but of all the songs I think singasong is probably the most unexpected to me (off the top of my head at least, still familiarizing myself with some of the other tracks I've only managed to listen to a few times so far). As far as singasong specifically, I really love the chill vibe of the song, and their vocals were a perfect contrast to the track, so agree with the song sounding chill yet hard at the same time! I always love Minghao's voice and this was no exception, he just has such a unique quality to his voice that's so soothing to listen to. Vernon also sounded amazing, loved the falsetto doubling he did, as well as his lower parts. Feeling very spoiled with how many songs we got on this album and can't wait to see your takes on the rest of the tracks (and maybe some behind the scenes content as well, they've already released a few!). I would say for now my favourite song is girlsnboys, very curious what yours will end up being!

The 'Peek at you' thing they mentioned in their live that they would have loved to include 'Pikachu' but because of copyright reasons they couldn't😂 This album is a total banger, sooooo many nostalgic sounds and visuals, they just dropped a kind of a MV or visual for their song 'Girls n Boys' it pays homage to the 2002 hit music video "Boys" by Britney Spears (feat. Pharrell Williams), it was an amazing way to do a shout out to Pharrell, this album feels like travelling back in time. Can't wait for the album reaction!!!! This song and even tho whole album so cool! Loved it!!!! The song was very cool and kinda nostalgic wow. Also “peek at you”. They wanted pikachu but copyright ㅠㅠ they mentioned on a live.

this song reminds me of my childhood for some reason??? like the sounds i used to hear back in early 2000s-20s ?? It's my first time learning that this type of sound is called hyperpop so thank you bc i can finally do a deep dive into this genre?????? also also lmao i relate to what u said about the brain rot HAHAHA I didn't focus much on the lyrics before this (bc I was waiting/hoping you would react to it XD) and as a non-Korean my first thought like 30s into the MV was : who's dream is this? V8 might be, and I don't say it lightly, a perfect album for the genre it chose. I'm really looking forward to you guys reacting to it because it's so unique and I saw even non k-pop Korean people on Twitter talk about how good it is and even some music critics saying it's amazing. The hype is real. All the producers are people Vernon and Minghao reached out to personally and asked to work with, and there's V8 behind the scenes currently being uploaded that show the process of the album creation and it's super interesting. I'm glad you mentioned you're gonna check out who worked on what song when you react to it because some of them are really important to the album and each carry their own story! There are some MVs and performances already out for some of the videos so when it comes time I'll be sure to add links!

I loved v8 album so much, but singasong is not my favorite one. My top 3 are friend, rat race and mia but whole album and especially lyrics are so good

This genre feels inevitable when you remember how deep Vernon was into Hyperpop circa 2020 which gave birth to the iconic hip hop unit track Gam3 Bo1. With Minghao getting more into DJ-ing lately, this feels like the perfect middle ground for both of them. The behind the scenes behind this album are very interesting and you can tell a lot of care and thoughts were put into every track.

I love this song; it gets stuck in my head constantly. I can't wait to see you guys check out the album because it's insane and it's really so different from anything they've done! I love V8 album especially the production. It's pity other units didn't get much time to work on their albums like cxm or hxw because of Happy burstday era, touring and enlistment schedules.
