Here to finally check out the 1 hour long comeback live from BTS for ARIRANG! :D

Please note that you may hear some cracks & pops that result in minor speed bumps in the video itself, which ultimately caused the video to lose a minute or two. But it's very minor and will have zero impact on the reaction itself! :)

Otherwise, we got nothing else to add here cuz it is what it is and we're just excited to get to the other series—namely, the comeback documentary (The Return, I believe it was called?)! :D

So please let us know what you wish to see next, and of course, since we talk about a lot of different things (the live mixing, streaming, arrangement, performance), please don't hesitate to ask us questions, and to answer OUR questions if you happened to be there and remember how it all sounded!! :)

For what's next, I'd love for y'all to see The Return and hear your discussions about the music-making process itself. The documentary focuses more on the end of their couple-month stay in LA working on Arirang. And after that? Greedy me would love to see a deep dive into BTS from the beginning, especially to hear your interpretations of the lyrics, but I know your time is limited for more groups! The Arirang tour is starting its U.S. and Canada leg on August 1, and they'll be in Toronto Aug 22-23. It may be too short of notice for y'all to try to go, but just wanted to make sure you knew!

Glad you enjoyed watching this small taste of a BTS live performance! Their full concerts are performance overload compared to this (coming from someone who's only seen them online, not in person). I do wish they had performed a few more of the Arirang tracks, but can see why it made sense for them to include some of their more well-known songs as well. And yes, major kudos to how smoothly they managed to film, especially with Namjoon's fairly last-minute injury. I believe this was also edited in the sense that they took out a lot of b-roll(?) shots where they panned to the Koreana Hotel, I didn't watch live but apparently they took a lot of those shots out afterwards because so many people complained it was just an ad for the hotel, not a BTS performance XD. For what to watch next, like you mentioned the Netflix documentary would make a lot of sense, but my personal recommendation would first be the Studio Notes Arirang live (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0kr5E8AY6U&t=3913s) they did when the album released (can't remember if it was right before or at the same time). Where the documentary is a more produced/polished outside perspective on the album/comeback, the live is a rawer talk amongst the members themselves about the album and tracks, and I really appreciated that perspective personally. Both have their merits, and give different information, ultimately watching both gives you the fullest picture possible but I do recommend the live first/over the documentary. yes please check out more of their live performances! to answer some of your questions, album was released March 20 and this comeback show was March 21st so literally brand new lol. On site, aside from the people who won the raffle for the free actual tickets, everyone else who showed up wasn’t allowed to stay in one spot by the stage after ~noon so there were crowds of people just walking in circles in the blocks around the square the entire day and weren’t counted as part of the crowd. Also, the netflix “edited” version didn’t cut anything out, the original livestream version was just cut poorly and lots of fans complained because they kept cutting away from the stage to show wide angles of the city/hotels and didn’t show key moments of the choreo so they re-edited the shots to show mostly the boys which is what the fans wanted. (for example, in the original live stream we basically didn’t see any of the boys doing the 2.0 choreo while RM was rapping, during hooligans “take you out” part with jk and jin they were showing the hotels again, etc)

Mikrokosmos is one of those songs that saved my life. You'll hear that a lot from ARMYs, but it's true for so many of us. I found BTS in late 2018 and didn't start genuinely paying attention until late 2019. COVID hit -- I had recently moved to a new city far from home with only my partner. We had new friends here, but we couldn't hang out because of all the restrictions and health risks for some immune compromised friends/family. Then I lost my dad and he and the rest of my family were over 1000 miles away during lockdown for the funeral. This song became a literal touchstone during that time. It reminded me that despite distance we are all connected and everyone has their own stories, struggles, and triumphs that shine brightly into this vast universe of humanity. BTS has such beautiful messages woven into their music.

And thankfully after years of waiting I did get to go to two dates of this tour with my amazing guy who randomly sends me Yoongi memes to make me laugh. Gotta love a supportive secure partner who celebrates your passions with you =P

Mikrokosmos is from Map of the Soul Persona, and they played it as the closing song in the second half of the Love Yourself Tour, the Speak Yourself leg. Mikrokosmos was the anchor song/closer. They had everybody turn off their ARMY bombs, turn on their phone lights, and when they dimmed the lights to perform, the stadium looked like a galaxy. It was unbelievably beautiful with BTS and ARMYs singing together in this floating universe of just ourselves, I wept like a baby through that closer. LOL

The edit is because the live camera work/direction was truly awful. Not nearly as much focused on the stage, which was ridiculous given what the whole point of the concert was. A lot of overhead and crowd shots, but always on the same fans. I laughed when you mentioned the Koreana because there were SO MANY shots of it originally. They seriously got so much free promo. Idk if it was always the plan or if ARMY bitched enough (we were not impressed) that led to the edit. Actually, this is the second edit and I cannot express how much better it is.

I think 'The Return' would be great to watch next. Since you don't know Mikrokosmos, there would be so many great album tracks that you also don't know, so it would be great at some stage if you wanted to go back through their discography and do album reactions (and solo albums!). BTS has just made so much good music over the years that I would love to hear your thoughts about, so I have to put my vote in. A few live concert reactions would be great too... And there's been some amazing solo concerts! Lol so much to see.
