Man, performance unit is truly the wild card of SVT with their unit tracks. Like, yes, we can more or less predict what they're gon do with their songs, but then also....not? This is why SVT performance unit is one of a kind. They ain't a dance unit. "PERFORMANCE" makes sense with these guys.

Anyways, we talk plenty in the vid to try to describe how we feel about the music (and of course, the performance, which is always guaranteed to be great), so we'll stop here :D OH except we do need to reiterate how incredible the arrangement was for the Be the Sun video, so thank you again for recommending that one!!

"More like 'panty drop'" 😂😂 YES I AGREE AFTER THAT PERFORMANCE I was waiting the whole week for this omg. I'm on the same boat as D'some: PFU tracks can be a hit or miss for me, but those that do hit, hit HARD. Especially with a breathtaking performance. Be the Sun Moonwalker is one of my top 3 PFU performances ever, and I always crave to watch it whenever I remember it. And the original track itself is so good too!! How can you not have 'moon walker walker walker moon walker' stuck in your head 24/7??? I haven't seen the Haru performance before, but I'm so happy to watch an energetic version and a different take on the choreo! At this point, moonwalker now has so many versions: original, Haru performance, Be the Sun rearrangement, vocal unit version (which I hope you get to see someday), and I think they also performed it in one of their online concerts. It's so cool now that you've seen Come to Me and Moonwalker in Be the Sun concert, you get a glimpse of how svt gives you an entirely new experience of their discography during concerts. And don't worry too much about seeing these concert clips because the two are just 7-10 (?) minutes of a whole three and a half our concert. PFU appreciation time! For me, PFU songs are the most 'experimental', that's why they always show something fresh and unique both in the original tracks and their performance. They didn't just rearrange the song, they reinvented it. You got the Haru performance leaning towards high-energy dance-y vibes, while they completely turn it around to soft sensual vibes in Be the Sun. KWON HOSHI THAT OUTFIT, JUN WITH SILVER HAIR AND FALSETTO, MINGHAO'S MAEILMAEILMAEIL, AND DINO'S SUAVENESS are all *insane* Our Dawn is Hotter than Day next! You know the performance hits hard when both Han-c and D'some look absolutely disgusted by it. I'm glad that you're as into Moonwalker as I am!!! I think it was a song that snuck up on me from just being in my playlist I play on shuffle, and then it kept appearing and suddenly I'm in love with it. And just recently in his concert Dino did a medley of PFU songs including Moonwalker and I was insanely jealous of everyone who got to experience it live. My favorite part of it has to be Jun's falsetto, but Minghao also feels like a heavy hitter in this! Now before I move on to Our Dawn, I thought I might recommend you guys check out A-TEEN, which was an OST that Seventeen released in August 2018 (about a month after You Make My Day), which would fit chronologically with your marathon. The reason I recommend is both because it's an absolute banger, and because later they did a part two to this OST in 2019 with all of the members so it would also go well with the marathon. I really think you should check it out before going to You Made My Dawn because the second you hit that album it's gonna be like a sprint of banger after banger and you might get swept up in it. Moonwalker is my #1 performance unit song so I'm happy you enjoyed it as well! And if it wasn't for ODIHTD it would have been my favourite on this album too! I tend to like PU songs the most usually, and especially when they have these types of dream-like, sensual(?) vibes in either the performance or the lyrics. They just love to meet and dance in the moonlight! Musically they're also the unit I gravitate towards, and for me it's usually hip hop team songs that are hit or miss. It's so interesting how people with different tastes can enjoy SVT and their units, there's always something for everyone. Also I'm glad you saw both performances with the original choreo and the more recent re-arranged one. It's always a surprise to watch the start of SVT tours and see the way they keep re-inventing themeselves, be a unit track or the full group. We're very lucky. Now I'm very much looking forward to next week, it's been a long time coming for this song lol

Ok, I didn't think I'd have much to talk about here but surprisingly (or not considering the average length of my comments XD) I have a lot of thoughts after watching this! I think I mentioned this last week, but Moonwalker isn't very high on my PFU track list. Nothing against it, just prefer several of their other songs more. However, after listening to it here again (especially that Be The Sun performance!!!), I am actually adding it to another playlist because I enjoyed it more than I remember. Sometimes when I listen to it on my main chaos playlist, I think it kind of gets lost in the mix of other songs so it was nice to give it a bit more appreciation here! As for the performances you watched, I MUCH preferred the Be The Sun performance (more on that in a minute). I honestly did not enjoy the first performance at all, I don't know if it was the styling, or the filming but it just didn't look great to me. Now, Be The Sun. This is what the performance for this song should ALWAYS look like! The rearrangement, the styling, the way the members performed, it was all perfect. I also just think them being older/more experienced played into the sultry vibe of the song much better, I think they just still felt kind of green/new (even though I know they weren't) in the first performance. Speaking of Be The Sun, this is where this comment gets even longer than it needs to be. I semi-seriously was looking at tickets to their final North America stop (New Jersey) for this tour when I was still pretty early on in my Carat journey. Decided against it for a variety of reasons, but every time I see/hear references to this tour it brings up a lot of emotions. I'm so sad I didn't say F it and just go, because considering the tracklist and clips I've seen, I think it probably would be my one of my favourite tours they've done to date. It hits me harder than seeing other concerts/fanmeets/performances that I know I would've never had the chance to see, because I was so close to actually attending Be The Sun. Ugh. That being said, I'm sure once you get to that point chronologically you'll do a full concert reaction to one of their Be The Sun shows, so if I couldn't go in person at least I can experience it here! (Will just have to get myself some extra emotional support snacks to help when the time comes).

Moonwalker is just sooo good. But for sure ODIHTD is no.1 on this album for me! I am soooo excited for yous to watch it. In all seriousness, this made me remember how much I love Moonwalker and that this is indeed one of my faves on th album! As D'some said i LOVE when Minghao gets like hooky melody rap stuff and though i think his singing voice is so beautiful, there's something about it thats so satisfying to me. One of the reasons I love this song is because it feels like it's a banger independent of the performance, but then also when you see that performance, you just can't resist it; it definitely uplifts it to an even higher level! Be The Sun, specifically, is super close to my heart, and it's the first thing I think about for this song because Be The Sun was the first time I saw SVT, and it changed my entire life. I was a baby carat and it just solidified how much i loved SVT! it was also the last time they came to Canada :( They did this version alongside a song called Wave, which you'll hear way later, but it was simply an iconic combination. I really loved Han C sharing his experience with creating songs for K-pop companies. I never realized companies would straight-up tell producers, “Make something like this other group’s song because it was successful.” And honestly, that’s so dumb because most of the time the fans don’t connect with it. And if the fandom isn’t connecting with it, it’s going to be much harder to reach the general public too. It’s not the exact same situation, but it reminded me of something Woozi once shared with us. SVT is a rare group who gets a lot of creative freedom, but they aren’t completely free from the company’s decisions when it comes to their music. Woozi talked about how, when they were in their early HYBE years, he made a song that everybody agreed should be the title track. They sent it to the company, and when it came back, the company had changed it to a more trendy sound. Woozi said it felt like a completely different song. I won’t say which title track it was because I don’t want to spoil anything or create any bias towards it. The members ended up releasing this new version, but they also added another song as a B-side that was much closer to the musical direction they originally wanted. And guess what happened? 😭 When the title track came out, CARATs immediately noticed the difference, and weren’t happy about it. Meanwhile, that last-minute B-side ended up becoming a fan favorite, to the point that they eventually released a performance & choreography video for it. Obviously, the fandom doesn’t hate that title track anymore, but it was an eye opening moment for HYBE to not do that ever again. Overall, changing concept based on what's trending is not safe for the long run

Wait until you hear Wave, it's the other song they performed for this Be The Sun stage and it's stunning. Anyway, Moonwalker was my fave Performance Unit track for a while until Spell dethroned it. As for the next track, Our Dawn Is Hotter Than Day is one of my favorite Seventeen tracks period. I loved it when it first came out and it's still a regular on my playlist even years later. I also have very fond memories tied to it so maybe that helps lol. If you watch the choreography video, I would suggest watching the lyrics video first to really appreciate how beautifully they translated the lyrics into movement to make the choreo.

I feel I’ve watched the be the sun moon walker ver online quite a bit and it’s one of my favs. Really good songs. PU songs are a hit or miss for me but I like this the most! Thanks for the reaction I enjoyed it! See you in our dawn is hotter than day which personally my fav song of the album and one of my top 5 svt songs hehehe. I’m excited hehe.

Moonwalker is soo good. Now I might be biased in saying that it is one of my favorite performance unit song because I remember seeing it at the Be The Sun tour. I was fully stun locked. The videos are amazing but it's 1000x better in person.

It's completely different from any of the stages you watched in this video and my personal favorite live performance of this song. Performance unit songs are so goated. Caratland is where unit switches happen so I would say unless you intend to do all caratlands start to finish you are probably safe to find the unit switch performances and they have fancams that are excellent for most of those. Thanks for loving seventeen
