Content

6th and last song from this first mixtape is 4419!

You'll see when you see the video, but let's just say, this was the perfect way to end the mixtape - calm, composed, with enough spices, enough twists, enough sincerity and musicality. It's just beautiful.

We're having so much fun with this ride, and we are more than ready to check out the next mixtape, which, wink wink, contains one of the most requested songs ever on our channel: District 9

Enjoy, and see you soon in the next one!

I love this song! IIRC, it was written by Chan about BamBam from GOT7 - they were really close as trainees, and 4419 was the bus they used to catch together before BamBam debuted, so this was Chan writing about how it felt to see him move on.

sara

fun fact: stray kids had their first music show win on april 4th 2019 aka 4419

Alessandra

Not giving any spoilers: Chan wrote this song for Bambam from GOT7 but I do feel like this song not only applies to him, but for all the people Chan saw debuting, leaving the company, etc because he spent +7 years of being a trainee. And, as you guys asked, it is someone all of skz know! Can't wait for District 9 and other songs. I'm especially looking forward for Awkward Silence, it's one of my favorites. Thank you for taking the time and your reaction!!!!

Neuter Lover

Love how you analyzed all ingredients SKZ used on their song such as the chords, the beat, the vocal design, etc. Hope to see your reaction on their survival show someday. Maybe after finishing their early discography.

Georgianna

Seungmin and Hyunjin helped with the song. If you decide to watch the Survival Show later, StrayKSubs has the entire series with good subtitles.

Taylor M

Like you guys said at the end, there is so much from SKZ but this journey is fun from a fan side to be able to go back through the older content and re-discover it again. I am NOT is probably my favorite album of theirs, so I'm super excited for you guys to dig in! A lot of their albums moving forward have a short ~1:30 intro track (NOT! for this upcoming one.) Not sure if you want a whole video on it or if you'd lump it into the next song. But thought I'd give you a heads-up on it!

Hey guys, love your reactions to Stray Kids and how much you appreciate the work they put into their music. I’m really excited to see you continue down your Stray Kids journey. 😊 Just a suggestion, but when you react to albums here on out they do intro videos for each album explaining their thought process for each one. I know you don’t want any spoilers but it could be fun maybe for you guys to react to at the end of each album reaction. There are also trailers for pretty much each album which are pretty cinematic/sets the mood for each album. Here’s the links to the trailer for I Am Not album as well as the two intro videos for the album in case you’d like to check those out. Once again thank you for your reactions. 😊 Trailer: https://youtu.be/x_oHzyRUvC0 Intro Videos 1&2: https://youtu.be/7dpcUnoHs_Q https://youtu.be/0xumbOWgsrY

Looking forward to your next review! Worth noting that "Not" is 1:30 min long intro though, like Taylor M said, so might be worth doing District 9 along with it. 😊

Thanks so much for the nonspoiler backstory! Will we get to hear more about it on the show as well?? And side note, always blows our minds how long they have to train - no matter how many times we've heard, and how familiar we are with the whole training process. 7 + years...insanity. No wonder why they're so good right? :)

Absolutely going for the show! We may even start earlier and alternate our extra content between the show and their earlier album :)

If it's only 1:30 long we may indeed do both NOT! and district 9 - or perhaps check out other variations of NOT! if there is one! We'll see how we feel :) Thanks for the heads up!!

Wait a minute wait a minute - we did NOT know about this wowww. Okay, if anything at all, definitely checking out the trailer!!! Thanks for letting us know :)

Not as much as I wish it was covered but you can hear some things here and there! It's mostly just Chan in vlives, interviews mentioning little things like that or not only him, but people from the industry (ex jype trainees, etc) talking about the training process and how Chan was there. It's always amazing to find out those things! You're very right on that, they're really good and they keep improving every time!

The NoEasy trailer is hilarious. Watch it then rewatch the Christmas Evel.

Yep, I'm Liberty

Absolutely wonderful review - and you caught on to so many nuances! I think you're already of the mindset that if it's a SKZ track, there is going to be some type of meaning/double to it, so you can't just take it at face value. I certainly hope that you are ready for the "I am" series. These next 3 albums are all about finding out who you are (I don't consider this a spoiler as the album titles pretty much spell it out) and where you're going and they touch on some amazing topics. As many have said, District 9 is THE track from I am NOT (it's what solidified Changbin as my ult), but 잘 하고 있어 (Grow Up) is the type of song that you close concerts with (at least in my opinion). All I can say is that you are definitely going to enjoy the ride

All the songs in this pre-debut mixtape are ones that were created as part of the survival show for the various missions they had to do. So in the show you get to see how different members were involved in the creation of each song and the work and thought processes behind them 😁

By the way Stray Kids also released rewritten 3racha songs that were originally supposed to only be available on the physical copy of each album. Meaning the official audio wasn't available to stream but Mixtape#2-4 had special videos released. So, the I am Not album had Mixtape#1 which is a rewrite of 3racha's placebo. I am Who had Mixtape#2 and so on. Mixtape#1-4 were later officially released digitally on the Yellow Wood album and Mixtape#5, which was on The Levanter album, was released digitally in Skz2021. The Mixtapes were also later re-released with their original 3racha title after they rerecorded them without Woojin.

This song is so emotional for so many reasons, but mostly because like you said, it feels like a real story we all can relate to. I always appreciate how you take every songs meaning so seriously, and dissect the possibilities and conclusions we can draw. This song makes me cry everytime i think about how Chan and the others must have felt when he/they wrote it, seeing everyone move on without them. The emotions they poured into their voices are so tangible here that its impossible to miss the melancholy and longing in the song.

Tealeafer

Really enjoyed this reaction, as usual! especially from a musical standpoint, and for the observation that, at the ages they were at, it was pretty damn mature to realize that crystallizing in time that conversational, young lyrical style was worth doing. Never thought of that before. And yes I feel like this song is slow-burn emotional damage ahaha

Nova

This album always gets me in the feels. It’s very raw and emotional. It definitely brings me back to the survival show. Just wait till you start watching it. Can’t wait to hear some of your reactions once you see how the songs from there came to life. As always, thank you for another great reaction. Onward we go!!!

Haha yeh we amp it up before reacting - it's SKZ! It's gon be WILD! We just reacted to the first track - great that we saw this short explanation before going further! Thanks :D

To be fair, it's hard NOT to take them seriously - so meticulous, so sincere. It really shows and there is no way to not look at their songs with the same mindset and respect!

We're more pumped everyday to start it- though we feel like we want to cherish it a bit longer haha it'll definitely be very soon

Kwestleo

Am I missing something? I can't find your reaction to school life and i really wanted to hear what you all thought about it 😿

Paula

I recently became a patreon so I'm checking your old reaction videos, you mentioned Kings of Convenience in this one which is a band I used to love but had totally forgotten they existed. 😳 So thank you for the reminder because I went to check some of their songs and brought me nice memories back.

Found it when I used the app on my phone, but not through the web page on my pc😊

Brianne

Just found this reaction with the reorganization - this is one of my favorite songs - looking at the comments - Chan wrote about times with BamBam, Seungmin wrote about memories on the bus, & Hyunjin wrote about his daily life taking that bus when he lived at home & commuted - was preformed as a trio first then expanded a bit for the full group. I’m guessing / thinking you may know this from watching the survival show…. Realizing it wasn’t a single story it was shared experiences from the 3
