Here's our reaction to XG's newest song, GRL GVNG!

We loooove XG. Yes we do. They're talented, and different. Still not sure why they made the MV shortened up but hey, got to listen to it twice in a row and we loved it!!! So hope you enjoy :)

Love.

Musicians react & review ♡ XG - GRL GVNG (MV & Lyrics)

Ohhh XG is gonna change the GAME. They are on top of the food chain right now with the fire tracks they're pumpin out!! This newest piece GRL GVNG is just another example of how clever and well put together their songs are and we're all here for it!! Although we still don't know the reasoning behind the shorter MV version, we think it's fire regardless, and we're hoping for a full album by the time we catch up with their older songs :D Excited to check out more, and hope y'all enjoyed this one!! So excited for anything they put out in the future. I love their rap line and the vocal line is top notch too. Together it's perfection 😁

I love the SFF concept for this! I also think it's an interesting conversation re: whether they're k-pop, given that the group is Japanese, as IIRC the CEO of their company expressly came out and said, in as many words, "we're making this group because if Korea can do it, then Japan can too," so the idea of k-pop as genre rather than country of origin takes on a new emphasis.

Anyone strong enough to hear that song and not add it immediately to their spotify playlist has to be a super human, so I tend to think it's an interesting way to ensure that people are actually streaming the song outside of youtube which i think is kind of cool. I have to watch the MV for the sick live action anime intro and then stream the song for the dope rapline. Honestly kind of genius? Also interesting since it's a pre-release because I think it'll really help build hype for the album (like I needed any more hype)

Hahaha that's some superpower for sure because I've been listening to it daily since hahaha. And it IS genius in that regard!
