Musicians react & review ♡ SKZ - Item

HOW IS THIS AFTER HALL OF FAME AND S-CLASS. THIS IS THE BEST EVER. 5 Star Album has been, well, pretty insane. S-Class (특) AND Hall of Fame both broke us - and came Item, d'Some's most anticipated song, but also, the craziest track we've heard from this album so far. Absolute banger, and CANNOT wait for Superbowl!!!! As we say in our video, you can go to http://coreelle.com and enter HANDSOMESAUSAGES20 to get 20% off SKZ X NACIFIC products to support SKZ, your favourite YT commentators (us :D) and to keep your skin fresh and young! This reaction is the best birthday present!!

I was just about to take a nap and just laid down. I got up so fast when I got the notification! Lol I have been so excited for you two to react to this one.

Inna

That was so fun! Love it. Superbowl is amazing, defenitly react to the original album version. You can react to a Japanese version with an M/V when you will be going through their Japanese releases later on.

SaarCookie

I love this song. It really pumps me up. They performed it during their fan-meeting at the beginning of July as well and it was absolutely awesome, really jealous of those who could see it live in person.

Tealeafer

LOVED this reaction- y’all hit on basically all of my favorite points. This song is probably my 2nd favorite off 5-Star, and it’s just…impeccable. As a gamer and a music fan, to hear those sounds interpolated so well…ahhhhhhh! Also I can’t get over how they brought back the motifs they used to build and build and build, with the rappers spitting fire on fire, only for everything to cut out for Felix to kill us all with a single “yeah, it’s my item.” Just such a good choice. I personally think this should’ve been the title track.

I would recommend also watching the behind the scenes for the recording sessions for this album. They don’t show all the songs, but you can see them working in the studio for S-Class, Item, Topline, and Youtiful. They run their own recording sessions with their engineers and collaborators. https://youtu.be/8_Nt-jnXGfQ https://youtu.be/9odkgNeDJm4

I also hands down recommend watching the behind the scene of the recording session! We are so used to seeing 3 Racha directing the whole recording that to us Stays it's become something normal, but I am really curious about your take on a "regular" recording session. For example, I remember that last month came out the behind the scene of a song recorded by ITZY, Stray Kids's sisters group, and JYP itself directed the recording. I remember seeing one of the members crying in the recording booth because of JYP's criticism/directing style and I was so puzzled to see that, because to me Chan, Han, and Changbin have always done an amazing job in cheering on the members while directing and I thought that that was how it was always supposed to be. That being said, I'll now dig into the ITEM reaction ;)

I'm commenting as I'm watching the video, but really, I had to laugh when you said that they will be soon part of the Hall of Fame, because yesterday it was announced that SKZ will perform at this year's MTV VMA, an award show where only BTS and Blackpink have ever performed, and this year is SKZ's year! Also, loved your reaction! I listed to item so many times, but I never noticed the coin sound, as well as some of the word play. I always love re-discovering my fav songs through your (educated) reactions

Marifel Trias

Your reactions are the VERY BEST EVER. Again, you are always so spot on with your assessments. I agree that this song can be a title track. I love how each song on this album is a FLEX, without being assholish. It just IS for them. I cannot WAIT for you to listen to the rest of the album!!!

김수미

I can’t wait for the Super Bowl reaction the first original release is in English and was originally supposed to be the original gods menu but instead they held onto it and put it on 5 star and released the gods menu we all know and love honestly this whole album is one of my favorites but there’s just something about Super Bowl that I absolutely love and can’t wait for you to listen to

sysrae

I love this song, and I was cackling at Han-C's reaction! Musically, I really love the way the sound builds and intensifies during Lee Know's verses after Han's rap - it sounds like the sound effect for a power-up or a special ability in-game, and it always raises the hairs on my arms a bit.

Kimiko Milheim

The entire 5 Star album is 🔥. Super Bowl is my favorite but all are amazing. And the songs live…next level! Our boys are killing it.

CJ Thompson

Yes! I have been waiting to see you two lose your minds over this song, and this reaction did not disappoint haha. The first time I heard this song I think my jaw was on the ground the entire time. The whole 5-Star album is amazing, but Item is my favorite song.

rlm66

Considering your guys’ talk after the reaction, I would personally LOVE to see you guys react to the INTRO for this album… even if it’s after you finish the track list. Generally they will talk about each track more in depth and i think you would really dig that perspective. I’ll link the one I’m talking about because the intro was actually split up into a few videos this time 🙂 https://youtu.be/iNPgj-ZJql8?si=5y2leuRojNidBfFg

I'm always so late catching your guys's patreon uploads. But on the 1st album listen for me Item was my number one song. Item is still my favorite song. But Hall of Fame grew on me so fast. So now item is number 1. hall of fame is number 2. Super bowl is number 3. Collision is number 4. Top line is number 5. S class is number 6. Get lit is number 7. Youtiful is number 8. DLC is number 9. The sound is number 10 timeout is number 11 and FNF is number 12. Now that's not to say that anything six and down are bad songs. They are all amazing songs but my top three are definitely item Hall of Fame and Super bowl. Han-c's face at the end of the song was absolutely priceless. But also, I get it. Because same. Item left me STUNNED. Dazed as if I was hit with a red shell 😸. Hearing Lee Knows aggressive rasp was such a gift. He matched Changbin and Felix's vibe perfectly. And of course Channie and Seungmin's vocals back to back are a treasure. Then I.N's tone just smoothes everything together. Han can literally do no wrong. I adore him. Oh and let's not forget Hyunjin. Hus rapping is so slick (smooth) and he is just a whole vibe. ANYWAYS, I enjoyed y'alls reaction so much. I cannot wait for you to get to Superbowl, Topline, Collision, and Youtiful. As for the version of Superbowl I think you should do the original English version first. Then the Japanese version. I didn't know there was a Korean version so I guess if there's that you can react to that. But thank you again for going through the boys discography. And I personally believe the boys deserve to be in the hall of fame. 🖤

Yes this is so true. As I do not speak Korean I don't catch a lot of the puns so I love learning that from them. Also bcuz they really pay attention to the music I find myself noticing the new things that they point out and just being amazed.

Same! Felt so bad for yeji. I also saw the video of Chan directing for Niziu for 'paradise' recording, and he directs in a very constructive way, correcting but not demeaning, and makes the one recording comfortable.

Nova

😂Same bros same….I actually replayed it the first time. I had no one to share my excitement with though. I kinda just say there with my mouth open. As said above definitely check out the album intro and you might even check out stay week recording scenes. It will spoil other songs fyi - but it’s always awesome to watch them record!! And just think your only 3 songs in. https://youtu.be/9odkgNeDJm4?si=e2U1tMM4nRvkOwGl

This is one of those songs that I wish I could hear for the first time again, but watching you react to it made me feel like I was listening to it for the first time again!!!! I got so hyped up haha

anushkakusum

I'm still laughing at the fact that not a single word was uttered during the whole reaction and the LOOK OF SHOCK was just top tier HAHA

H Almu

I hope you react to the recoding in the studio behind the scene for item
