Musicians react & review ♡ SKZ - TOPLINE (Ft. Tiger JK)

Tiger JK and SKZ??? YEHHH We were wrong with our predictions. This song HITS like CRAYYY!! So obviously the song's gon be fire, but we always thought that the first four tracks of 5-star album (Hall of Fame, S-Class, Item & Super Bowl) would be the hardest hitting songs and then it'd slowly get a bit mellow for the sake of B-side track vibe. Y'all told me Topline gon kill us if we go in with that kind of thought and...yeh, XD Super hard song - man every track in this album is title track and it's just killin us!! Tiger JK with his fire rap, mixing his OG and newer style together, and Han following that up with an insane skill, and Hyunjin just killin it with his unpredictable flow, and just everyone delivering top quality stuff - absolutely amazing. Can NOT wait for DLC to hit us and we dance like crazy indeed!! Let's keep it going!! We're currently reacting to ALL SKZ songs in order over at our patreon, as well as TV series like Kingdom Legendary War and SKZ Survival Show! The music creates tension like you would feel as someone trying to compete with them. 😁

This song is such an anthem and no doubt a new SKZ concert staple along with Miroh. I saw 3RACHA perform this on Saturday at Global Citizen Festival and the crowd energy was just so fun that the fact we were all soaked from the rain didn’t matter anymore. SKZ has performed this live for a handful of western audiences so far and every time the crowd is super hyped waving their arms and singing along - especially the “we don’t give a f*ck” part. The kids get particularly happy about that because they have to censor if they sing it. 😂 Context: SKZ as a whole was supposed to perform at the festival but Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Seungmin got involved in a minor car accident in Korea (everyone is fine) and were advised to rest, so 3RACHA came by themselves. If you want to watch the performance out of curiosity, I’ve included the link. They didn’t separate out 3RACHA’s performance so it’s the whole festival. Topline starts at 2:10:05. The other two songs they performed I don’t think you’ve heard yet so best to skip straight to. (My memory sucks apparently so ignore this last sentence.) https://www.youtube.com/live/Z5RR7UC1jHs?si=wqQiPZMfEMjtgTsg

You should definitely watch the making the MV video even if you don't review it here. It may be the most adorable thing watching Han fanboy over Tiger JK. Also, Stray Kids have been coming out with a bunch of solo songs on youtube that would be great to hear your thoughts on. Han's Volcano is one of my favorite songs of all time.

I love Topline. I believe Chan shared on Bubble (could’ve been somewhere else) that when 3Racha collaborated for MAMA 2022 (you should react to that stage Btw!) they approached Tiger JK about Topline and wether he’d want to feature on it. I know Han is a big fan of TJK so it must have been such an honour for them to get to work with him. This song gets stuck in your head like crazy. I often find myself going “bom bom diggy diggy bom bom bom” 😂. The signs from now on will get lighter but definitely still great. DLC is super cool, I love listening to it while I’m on the train, it just cheers me up a lot!

Topline is so good! There's a very sweet thing in the behind the scenes video for the mv, where the other members ask Han if he took a selfie with Tiger JK, and Han says he didn't because he was too shy to ask for one, so they all comfort him and say he'll get one next time. But because of this, a stay made a fanart of Han with Tiger JK showing Tiger JK with his arm around Han, where Tiger is a chibi cartoon tiger and Han is hanquokka (his skzoo character), and it went kind of viral - so viral, in fact, that Tiger JK saw it, shared it on his instagram, and for a while had it set as his instagram profile pic. He also shared footage from when skz performed Topline at Lollapallooza in France, and shared again a clip of 3RACHA performing it at the Global Citizen Festival over the weekend - he seems really proud of 3RACHA in particular.

I was thinking the same thing, I am guessing they have filmed the reaction but haven't posted it yet.

BOM DIGI DIGI BOM BOM BOM BOM. That’s it. That’s the comment. That’s the line that has been stuck in my head for MONTHS.

Ah ok I couldn’t remember as I was writing my comment so I went with no. My memory failed me. 😂

When this album released my friends and I stayed up late and had a listening party when we got to this track I literally cried. Being a K-pop fan for a big portion of my life and listening to Korean music was one of the few connections I had to my Korean culture and hearing them rap and sing with a Korean hip-hop legend like Tiger JK made me super emotional. Like you said most legendary big name rappers like Tiger JK don’t usually feature or do tracks with idols and knowing how much the boys, especially 3racha, look up to him as a role model just really hit me. It was a moment where I was so proud of them and was like you made it and it literally made me cry all my friends were so confused why I was crying during such a hype song like topline but I was just so overwhelmingly proud of SKZ cause they did so well and held their own with Tiger JK. Also talking about how Han must of been nervous he was. He wanted to talk more to Tiger JK and exchange contacts with him but was too scared and by the time he finally worked up the courage to Tiger JK was already gone. This was the start of what Stays like to title the Tiger JKification of Han Jisung because after topline was released he started to dress and be styled in a way very reminiscent of Tiger JK not to mention that Tiger JK wished Han a happy birthday recently and also previously posted fanart on his Instagram story of Han’s SKZOO Han quokka and Tiger JK as an actual Tiger and it’s so cute I love the interactions between Han and Tiger JK cause Han is such a Tiger JK fanboy

If you haven’t seen SKZ preformance of Topline at KCON 2023, well its a SKZ hotmess that only they could do. Its pretty epic!! You might enjoy that just for fun. I also know that in Stray Kids [Intro Five Star] Han talks about how 3Racha approched Tiger JK for the song. Its reference to a performace that 3Racha did at MAMA 2022 with Tiger JK. https://youtu.be/iNPgj-ZJql8?si=4Q_eEfRDFiFt5lt- Inro to 5 Star https://youtu.be/XHmZQC24zuA?si=LPgyXZoXdRkZ5f38 - Preformance that is refrenced in the intro.

OMG you are one of those people who supported SKZ and 3RACHA in that rain! Thank you! Thank YOU! THANK YOU! I hope you are feeling well and haven`t caught a cold.

Yes exactly! Basically 3RACHA first came out with Hey Day because of Street Man Fighter and Chan included the "legendary like Tiger JK" line in the hook. I was so hyped about it, bc I listen to Tiger JK's songs, but I noticed that no one brought the song to his attention. So I decided to use a lyrics video with Chan singing that line and I tagged him on Twitter, hoping that Stays would get interested in him. I was shocked when Tiger JK retweeted my tweet and then tweeted some more after he went to check out the whole song. I called my friends screaming xD Then after a few months the 3RACHA x Tiger JK collab at MAMA came out and I just couldn't believe it. And now we have Topline. Like, WOW What I am hoping will happen next is for 3RACHA to be actually feature in a Tiger JK song :,)

When the trailer came out for this, I couldn’t stop watching it. Everything in it gets stuck in my head. I mean obviously the “bin digi digi” part, but even the rap flows, pre chorus, and that anthemic chorus. Also, while I love what everyone did here, I’m super proud of Hyunjin because I feel like he really held his own with both Changbin and Han, which is like…damn (yes, I’m a wordsmith).

TOPLINE LIVE is on another level. Live stages are a must to check out, either on your own or as a reaction. They killed it at Global Citizen Fest, and I'm so proud of them. I especially loved seeing all the SKZOO's in the audience, they were very well represented! Leebit in a yellow poncho was just *chef's kiss*!

mysterious_ky

i found the topline video i mentioned before! (https://www.instagram.com/p/CvMo-pOPyfD/) topline live is crazy. it's too bad we couldn't see live topline again at the global citizen festival because of the car accident, but 3racha did great on their own too!!

Trialz315

Han fanboying over Tiger JK in the making the MV video will forever be one of my favorite Han moments. 🙃

mysterious_ky

You guys are getting a lot of traction over on Twitter for this video 😭😭 the people love handsome sausages

Oh the way you dig deep into every little details of there ambient elements creation is so impressive! This is the best reaction I've ever seen for this song. So happy to see people discovering sounds / elements artist added on their purpose. I may call it artistic soundscape. And I'm so proud of Stray Kids that they could reach this point. Since MAMA 2022, 3 RACHA had an opening stage with Tiger JK and they all created beautiful rap performance with live piano. I wished they will get chance to collab in the future. OMG Tiger said Yes to them. They deserved it!.

Glad I got to support the kids, even if they couldn’t all make it. And that’s so sweet of you! Feeling surprisingly ok for having stood out in the rain for 8 hours so crossing my fingers it stays that way. Haha.
