Devlog #76 | Important Announcement: Metamorphosis (Patreon)

Hey, everyone. As some of you may already know (if you’ve been following the Discord server), or maybe not, the next update will take a bit longer than the last one.

After the previous version, I had initially planned to focus on Two Sides of the Same Coin. The idea was to alternate: two updates for Crimson Prison, then one for TSSC. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out this time.

The biggest change:

Starting with Crimson Prison v0.1.4, Zinnia will officially be aged up to 18 years old in order to avoid any potential issues with platforms like Patreon, Itch, and hopefully F95Zone (if they ever allow the game back up).

Now then, I know Zinnia is a huge part of Crimson Prison’s appeal, something I take great pride in, since people seem to genuinely enjoy her as a protagonist. Changing her age to 18 will undeniably affect a large chunk of the lore and her connection to TSSC. That said, this is a change we have to make.

I do have a way to rewrite the lore to make it work. While her iconic “grumpy, stubborn little girl” persona will shift, she’s still immature and has a lot of potential for character growth. So don’t worry, her essence won’t be lost.

I wanted to share this news here first before posting it publicly on Discord.

As for development progress: I've already completed everything up through Quest 9. What’s left are the final two quests and the first quest of chapter 2, which are the most time-consuming, especially the final one, which is Zinnia’s big fight. That one involves a ton of image editing and polish. Still, I’ve been making great progress overall.

I’ll leave you with a small sneak peek of Zinnia’s new model. In some scenes, she still looks quite young —mostly due to the outfit— but overall I think the redesign turned out really well! Remember, the characters from Two Sides tend to look even more… moe or youthful, so I honestly think Zinnia’s new design turned out great.

To close this post, I want to remind you that next week we’ll be holding a poll focused on Hayakawa Kasumi! Thank you so much for your patience and continued support for the project.
