(I cannot post this on Discord, because it's way too long.)

Today I want to speak honestly. I haven't been working on the new Script for the upcoming update. I've written only 700 words in an entire week, and it's felt like a hassle— a torment.

I've been developing visual novels since December 2021. Throughout all that time, there's been one recurring factor that always comes to light whenever a new update is released: uncertainty.

Every time an updated version is uploaded to the cloud for download, the uncertainty takes over me. It's strange. I should feel happy to see the fruit of my effort being enjoyed by an audience, shouldn't I? But I feel the complete opposite. A sense of emptiness hangs over me. A marked sadness with no explanation, and a deep anxiety at the thought of whether my content is —or is not— something people will like.

Although I don't wear myself out thinking about “what will they say?”, because I've learned to live with that all my life, it weighs on me not knowing if my content meets the audience's expectations. Even more so when the audience is PAYING for that content, which puts even more pressure on me. This grew exponentially with the arrival of Crimson Prison, which carries a more solid story with stronger nuances than its predecessor.

Sometimes I think I write too little for each version. I mean, 10,000 words in an update? That's honestly a low number. This constant need to bring perfection to the project ends up making me fall behind and rewrite the script up to five times in every update, adding or removing unnecessary things, trying to make everything connect meticulously, and still, at times, feeling it's not enough.

As I announced recently, I've been taking advantage of the last few months, where I've had a slightly lighter workload, to dedicate time to development. In my mind, it sounded easy: work more to update faster. But of course, nothing comes without consequences. Burnout starts showing.

A lot has been happening lately that's kept me overwhelmed: the decrease in my income, the lack of job offers in my field, my physical and mental exhaustion, issues with the development of my novels, a disastrous government… just to name a few.

I love my country, Mexico, very much. I'm proud to have been born here, and I couldn't have chosen a better place. But I'm deeply ashamed of my government. A disastrous and corrupt government, colluding with org$nized cr$me.

Changing the subject, I enjoy weightlifting and, especially, going out for a run. Running is something that has always fascinated me. But due to health complications, I haven't been able to exercise at all; I can only rest, which has led to my back stabbing with sharp pain these last few days and my hips feeling somewhat stiff. And to resolve the first issue (which, for now, I won't mention what it is), I'll probably have to undergo surgery in the first quarter of 2026. I'll leave it at that so as not to cause alarm; it's not certain yet, but very likely.

Anyway, these last few days I hadn't been feeling well, physically or mentally. The uncertainty of each update mixed with several circumstances that pushed me into tremendous apathy. That's why I haven't continued writing the game's script: I'm not going to deliver a mediocre product.

I'll use these last few days of the week to clear my mind and pull myself together properly, because I've been feeling how my peace has been heavily affected. I promise that starting Monday I'll begin working on the next patch again, since I haven't really made any progress since November 10 (the day I finished Crimson Prison v0.1.5.0).

Thank you to the few who read this to the end. And if no one reads it, that's fine too, at least it helped me vent. The next update, v0.1.6.0, will come in strong. Although since it will take some work, it'll probably end up releasing next year. I'll soon publish a small guide for those who couldn't complete the Zinnia and Akaashihara Puzzle. See you soon.

Hoy vengo a hablar honestamente.

Amo mucho a mi país, México.
