You arrive at the mine. And already you can see this isn't going to be an easy job. The entrance is totally blocked by stone. Bjorn walks to the pile, tapping with one of his smaller picks before taking a swing with his larger one. And with this swing he shatters or displaces most of the rocks blocking the way. 

You move inside lamps glowing. As you look, the cave glitters with gold everywhere. You reach to touch but Björn slaps you away saying. “That isn't gold, lad... that's...” he turns, readying his pick. 

Indistinct shapes shamble towards you. And as they enter the light of your torches, you see what became of the other miners. Their forms disfigured by golden growths covering their body. “Today is going to be a long day...” Björn says.
