So the Gelatinous Queen wins the poll for January sculpt theme. So with the idea of slimes and transparent media. I have a request for those of you up for an experiment.

If some of you wonderful printers with any transparent media handy can print the below test piece and post the results, I would be very grateful.

The theory here is the transparent media will allow an internal void shape to be viewed externally. And could be further enhanced by adding a very watery paint to the internal void, making it opaque. A lot of this will depend on how good the external finish is. This video from uncle Jessie might help.

Now, I don't know how good this will look, hence why I'm asking now. If it looks crap, ill just focus on external forms. But if it looks good, this could be an amazing set to bring to the table.

Ok I will print this up in a few versions and get them to you. One big favor... Can you Isolate the portal on the seed portal keep arim on the Isolated portal boolean difference on the portal from the frame. Split the frame in half so when merged together it holds the isolated portal. I can do it, but I am sure you will do it much faster than me. Ill print that up to and give you results if you have the time

Just a hobby tip... the dullness id because its not a smooth surface, once cleaned. Use clear nail polish or Tamiya clear (what I use) to get the clear qualities back. its nice and clear when it not clean because of the uncured resin slimed all over it. Anything, the smoother it is the more reflective or see through. Sand paper a mirror good luck seeing your reflection, look at a polish car same idea.

If I've got any transparent resin on hand still, I'll have 1 printing asap. Not sure I do though.

Interesting idea, looking forward to results

I have some translucent resins, but nothing that would show the details of the void to the degree needed here. I used them to print stands for flying models, and you can see through it, like, if I put a finger on the other side I see a dark stripe. But that's a far cry from what this model would need.

clear resins are often not 100% clear, or can be clouded, or even yellow when cured (if not done properly). Green or other colors for that matter, even though they are translucent resins they simply won't show enough detail. Go with external details, save the clear stuff for things like water or like @Fedor said to make stands.

this will work with clear resin, especially if using translucent alcohol inks and if the walls are on the thin side. translucent resins may or may not work, depending on how tinted it is. I have printed may files in translucent resin, and have seen this type of thing work, but only with thin walls. The more resin in there, the harder it will be to see.
