.22s In the Project again. Maybe this will again be on of those amazingly accurate and reliable guns we add to our favorites. Then again maybe not. All the elements are here: an egonomic, versatile McMillen-like stock, decent weight, TB, smoothness, bolt knob, and a good price. But we compare it to a basic but storied .22 bolt gun competitor here and you'll see how this particular example failed to impress us on several levels. And then we remind you of another .22 competitor here in TNP that will shoot into 1 MOA at 100 yds.

Sweet…. Time to stop working. TNP takes priority.

I looked at this before I bought my Bergara BMR Carbon. I did pay a little more, but I have no regrets. I’ve got about 300 rounds of Ely Club through it and it’s super accurate. I put a Dead Air Mask supressor on it and it makes it even more fun to shoot. Thanks for the video and I always enjoy the back and forth banter between you and TD. It’s great to see a fun Father/Son duo like you guys.

Matt W Plank

Bergara .22 is going to run you around a grand. In fact, they are not much cheaper than their center fired variants. They are quality though, no argument there.

Aceman1126

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the old marlins are amazing and if you can't get one easily get a savage. The mk2 and such are fantastic guns and cost half of what this does.

Kyle weyerbacher

Great video nutn. I hadn’t thought about that 10/22 magazine patent expiring, all makes sense now.

Tacticaldoodle

I’m a little sad because I do liek the way it presents, but it seems like there are a whole lot of impressive little bolt action, suppressor-ready .22s out there on the market.

kawicheater

You two doing the typical YouTube thumbnail point & face WOAH expression had me rolling 😂. thank you!

I see bergara's at every 22lr event, they do cost $1,100ish but its worth it. They are top performers in accuracy

Funny talking about shipping firearms. I just wanted to ship an upper and USPS said no way, UPS go away before we call the police (no kidding), and FedEx said no but go to an FFL and we'll ship it if they give it to us.

Matt W Plank

Yup, I will see specials occasionally at a like at $999, but they are a premium rifle at a premium price.👍

Excellent Review! On the competition circuit for "factory grade 22LR < $1250" Tikka is very popular, Bergara, and there's some new CZ chasis rifle that's also performing excellent. Bergara is very hard to beat. I have only taken 1st place in the 100 yard stuff, at 50 yards I'll always have one of those 3 mentioned above grab 1st and I'll be right on their heels following in 2nd with a Tikka Seems like the $1k bergara and cz chasis have a lot of extra magic dust applied to their barrels and bolts to ensure they shoot just a little bit better than the rest. If you have it in your budget they're very nice

It's too bad the 22lr reviews don't do well. They are so fun to shoot. I purchased a Savage Mark III FV-SR from your review. I love that gun; it's absolutely grin-inducing to shoot. I purchased the Bergara 10-22 but have yet to shoot it. I would love a 7mm PRC, but I can afford a lot of 22lr for the costs of that round.

Hugh Amlett

I shoot .22 the most. Would like to see that new Winchester ranger 22 lever action made in Turkey

Love the dad and son banter. I pray my son and I can make such silly jokes together when he’s older too.

I miss my 2004 WRX STI. What a great car. Never should have sold it.

Tacticaldoodle

In retrospect, it seems so obvious, but how were we to know they wouldn't make 'em like that anymore?

Hold Fast Joe

I'm curious about the carbon barrel. Could you post some 5 and 10 round groups at 50 yards in the community chat sometime? I see bergara but no one buys the carbons, they always grab heavy barrels

Moe Mansour

Very true. A lot of guys held off buying one because Subaru promised to put a 400 hp engine into the 2022 STI. Instead, they did a 180 and scrapped the STI platform forever.

Michael Gere

I’ll try to post some sometime. The indoor range I typically shoot at only has a 25 yard lane. But, maybe I can get some longer shots outdoors in a few weeks.

Hold Fast Joe

great! ya 25 yards doesn't tell ya much. I've shot 50ft indoor in the winters while it's too cold to enjoy the outdoor and our target's 10 ring is smaller than diameter of a bic pen and everyone is knocking out 10s. Common to see 4 sheets of nothing but 10s from a single guy. 50 yards outside in the wind is where it gets interesting!

Matthew Sumner

LOL...."Now THAT is made for handling." Best comment of the video.

Mike S

I'm still surprised as to how cheap the Savage Mark II is with its accuracy and capabilities.

JFire

.22s are awesome! I have a pair of ruger .22s and a nice 1911-22. Training for the price of CHEAP!

Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 owners in Western North Carolina say....what the heck? We are the Marlin.

Waterboy

I just bought this gun because I got my dead air mask out of jail I’m excited
