major contender for my adventure bike here :D

I love the moto content even though I don't moto. Excellent!

I have a tenere 700 but I thought the norden 901 was the ultimate bike. Which is just the husky version of the ktm

maxmfs

Epic intro. Looking forward to the whole video. Definitely making me miss my bikes. Maybe when the kids are out of the house…

Seeker Keyl

Love the bike in principle. Im not ready to have one (still like sport bikes too much), but when my riding habits change, I'll go to something like this, for sure. Looking forward to the hopefully-incoming KTM 990 rc-r!

JFire

I remember the first TNP videos I ever watched…you have too much crap on your AR15 parts 1and 2. This video has the look and feel of full movie productions compared than those of the early days of the project. Its fun to see how far the project has come.

Interspersed will some some fun Insta vids to make you laugh. Salt is great

too much salt is bad

Wyoming Homesteader

Thanks for showing me something else I can't afford nutn, lol. Since I've been married the closest I get to a new bike is a used beater for 2k or less. Lol

The Nutnfancy Project

Thank you Jonathan...I appreciate you sticking with me! I can crank up the production quality if I need to ;-). I will do it some more this summer too.

2026-09-15 18:00 I've thought many times about upgrading to a KTM, and this range is exactly what I'd go for. Alas, my KLR will have to do.

Love the bike review, but I feel the random reels inserted in were a detractor to the video.

jonathan maclean

Great video love the little comedic vignettes videos nice touch

Thank you for the review. I'm planning to get back on a bike after selling mine about 5 years ago. Realistically I'll do very little off-road/gravel riding, and I've been looking at the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT. But your continued praises for KTM bikes have me looking at them.

There's nothing wrong with a KLR I road one for six years as my first every motorcycle. I loved everything about it except for it's performance on the highway. I did multiple week long 1500 mile plus trips on it and it did just fine. However loaded down with camping gear I felt like a moving target in the mountains. I just didn't have the power to overtake anyone or in some situations even maintaining highway speeds. I eventually sold it and stepped up to a Super Tenere it's a night and day difference let me tell you. I do miss that low end grunt that the KLR had when off-road however.

KTM makes some sweet bikes there's no doubt they're just expensive. To be brutally honest between work and family life, I don't get off road nearly as often as I'd like to. Owning a 790/890 only makes sense if you're frequently on dirt, it's perfect for how you use it no doubt. I think for me personally if I were to get a KTM it would probably be an 1190. That's simply because of my riding conditions at best I'm about 80% slab and 20% dirt.

BadgerTails

YES! There's a handful of bikes I will not sell; Concours 14, Duc999, FS601 Husa, XR650R, XL350, and the 950ADV! It's a bit of a huge hootered Barbie and that's fine, sometimes tempermental pays off!!! Oh yeah, I think CJ makes some pegs, we're jsut about an hour from his shop...I've grabbed some sheep skins off Goodwill, cut em to size for the seat, and put them under a bungie netting which secures to itself under the seat.

I’m just chilling on my CRF300L in Hawaii

If your going to continue to put in the short videos inside your videos can it just be the girl talking with nothing to say? I can watch that over and over all day ;). As for the bike it’s hard to believe I won’t buy one eventually but for now I have a 701 for dirt focused adventure and a gs for street focused adventure. If I had to compress it into one bike today I would buy a 890 and an extra set of rims.

Matthew Sinn

I like the insta vids cutting in as a gag to a point but you went a bit overboard on this one sir. Overusing a comedic quirk like that just makes them annoying imo. Keep refining it though.... just needs to be a good balance and I think this is a "less is more" situation.

Elijah Ballard

I just bought my first bike, I got a KLX 300. I started with a smaller bike to learn fundamentals, trails around here aren’t forgiving, and with a young family I’ll have my daughter and son on a bike soon. I want to upgrade to bigger bikes along the way and hold onto them so the kids can ride with me. KTM 890 is on my sights down the road.

BadgerTails

Well then, just go away. No, really....

WILLIAM MEYER

Have tried to pull the trigger on a KTM 790/890 but can't get past the random unreliability. Instead picked up an 04 BMW 1050GS. Bit heavier, but stone ax reliable and 300 mile range. With that kind of range it better be reliable enough to get me home. Never felt that confidence with the KTM's.

Matthew Sinn

Oh I'm not going anywhere, just offering constructive criticism.

Kinoons

One of two of the inset vids was ok. Too many in the video in my opinion.

JARMYSTRONG

Hard pass on the inserted unrelated flicks.

BadgerTails

Oh shit, let's see here; 16 years later and thousands of HOURS shot in multiple aspects of SUCCESS and NOW you think he needs/wants a Director?! LOL!! OMG...

Matthew Sinn

Jeeze man, who went and pissed in your cereal bowl? It's really not that big a deal.

BadgerTails

Yet, we somehow have alleged "men" complaining about the xtra footage!? WHich GS do you have?

BadgerTails

The 2004-ish range has ABS brake issues, correct?

Chris Marchi

Love the bike vids. I don’t even own a bike 😆

WILLIAM MEYER

Not that I've experienced. Blew out the original front brake line. Have since been through the entire brake system, changed to stainless, and replaced all fluids. I believe it's lined out. Taking it to Alaska in July from Joplin.

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

How's the reliability compared to Japanese Bikes?

Pat McGroin

Love the content. First time i am seeing to comedic inserts. You can never go wrong with boobs and the chicken rat battle. Ride on. I only commute on it so no bells required. I love the quick shift. 90 road/10 hard packed in Borrego, CA.

TRJ

I almost bought an 890 last year. I decided to go the KTM 500 dual sport route. I still lust after an 890, but at the end of the day, I like exploring dirt more then pavement. I had visions of myself dropping the bike in rough terrain all by myself and not being able to pick it up. I spent 13 years and 70K miles on sport bikes with luggage but I love exploring off the grid now and hate traffic. The 500 is plenty capable connecting roads here and there as needed.

Don C

I enjoy your videos and have been following you for more than 10 years. The world doesn't revolve around me but I figured "One’s a dot. Two’s a line. Three’s a trend.". I did not enjoy the inserted videos. With the first insert I thought it was a weird YouTube ad or somehow it got snuck into your video software or something. If they are in your videos in the future I'll just skip past them using the mouse but that means I won't be able to sit back and watch the video, I'll have to be constantly ready to skip forward past the insert. Again, just adding my data point. Keep up the amazing work and energy. Thanks for everything you do.

Steven Salina

What music are you using for the outro?

Tacticaldoodle

I started out on that lil husky TE250 and liked that progression. For dirt bikes it's probably the way to go, hone some skill nice and light/slow

Adrian Anderson

Moto content is great! Wonder if you ever sniffed at AFRICAN TWIN for better reliability and less corks. I have an KTM myself and haven’t had any issues so far. Next bike will be Norden 901
