Dry and hot bro. That's the setting for this test session on the single piece drop forged Cold Steel Survivalist. 52100 steel and no junctures in its construction that can fail. We do a little chopping, we talk about my age, and an outstanding Breitling. This knife will be shipped to a Patreon member as a thank you for your continued support.

Sweet! Good time for a break to check out my next purchase!

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

Finally, an OG style TNP video. Miss the knife clinic.

Todd Strelka

I love a good Cold Steel fixed blade knife. Thanks for the review.

My favorite big survival blade is still the long time ago reviewed Ontario RTAK II. I bought it 10+ years ago and it's still holding up. Ive probably bought 4 or 5 other survival knives but the RTAK II still hasnt been dethroned. All of them have been much more expensive to.

Bravo

Great vid nutn, as far as knife prices go today. It pains me to scroll Blade HQ and other sites now. Everything is soooo much more than it once was. If only I had more money back when I was a kid drooling on my computer looking at blades. 🤣

Steelhorses

I love the big knives! Especially Cold Steel big knives! Espada XL, Voyager XL. Still have my issue USAF Camillus (US stamped Ka Bar style) knife. And acquired a USAF Vietnam era pilot's survival knife. I need another big fixed blade like this one to beat around with in the woods!

Justin Wingerter

Trusty cold steel! Send me the knife for the giveaway!!

The Nutnfancy Project

All commenters here are in the running, the wife shall choose, no purchase necessary either!

Mike M

Completely agree! I purchased an RTAK II after watching one of these videos back in the day and still love it

Knife looks like a beast! Looking forward to the vid after work.

Rocky Meredith

Another awesome vid...I don't know who doesn't like these or watch reviews, I love 'em!!

Jon Hassler

The dagger version works great with an Ulticlip at the base of your seatbelt. Fast surprise for car jackers.

Andrettski

That knife is a BEAST. That was some hard, dry, dead tree wood. Cold Steel still listening to their customers and bringing the big knives for us.

60?? Damn whipper! I've been here for eight decades and just got back from the range an hour ago. I was shootin' 40,.357, and 460 Rowland for giggles. Don't give in to the aches and pains, just get out there and do it. (I liked your knife video, bro.)

maxmfs

Another knife review. Woo-hoo! Recently picked up a Lynn Thompson Leatherneck Bowie, Medford USMC Fighter and new Ka-Bar 1310, if you have any interest in reviewing those.

J C-ham

I love the survival knife videos!!! These video made me buy alot of ontario knives over the years.

I wonder if the new Winchester ranger .22 is better than the Henry’s or comparable at all to Nutn’s 94/22

Actually I tried the Rat 7 and the Survivalist at the time and they weren’t big enough for me. Hahaha. Rtak did the trick 👌🏼

Took the kids into the woods today for the last day of summer vacay. They wanted to build a natural shelter! I got stung by 4 hornets clearing branches and rocks. Oops! Good thing I had a TNP inspired mini first aid kit with some sting relief. Thanks for the big blade & wilderness content inspiring us to get out adventuring with our loved ones! PS - TNP Endura and white Olight Warrior 2 came along for the trip. (Thanks Moe M!)

FYI, if you live in western Oregon, go check your local BiMart. You might find a VERY good deal on the Kershaw Strata Pro featured in a previous video. They are liquidating many knives and some bolt action rifles. Some of the prices are down right crazy.

Still love my SRK for general duty and camping work. For 💩s and giggles I have a couple huge knives. One is a large seax just for fun, the other a CRKT Mah-Chete. For more tactical applications, I really like a blade with a thumb ramp. Blackhawk Nightedge has a nice stabby profile. You might feel 40 but don’t look a day less than 60😂. Your content as always is awesome ty.

Those inset pictures are making me miss the Rockies. Hope to get back there someday. Gotta say, I love my SRK as a camp knife.

GarageJim_RMB

Nothing starts my day better than a big knife review. Keep 'em coming. Chop wood and carry water, we might be growing older but this keeps me young.

Mudtoa

Really like the Cold Steel fixed blade reviews!!

Carl Bailey

Been waiting for this one.

JFire

I’m loving that watch, might have to get one

J Ram

I love these field test videos and the camping videos.

Ready-or-Not

This is an outstanding knife. With a slight upgrade to the sheath, it is hard to beat for the price.

david rockwell

A big knife review is a must watch and so enlightening. One feels the power of past ancestors when manipulating an elegant and long slab of tool steel. While the reviewed blade is admirable, Ron Hood would say the knife is too short. Thank you for the continued dedication and effort. Be well.

Jesse

I love the collaboration you have with Blade HQ, they are my first go to for knife purchases.

Joshua Bustamante

surprised you didn't mention the Esee knives Junglas as a competitive option. Yeah its more expensive but it does the same thing and i'd say the ergos look much better on it.
