I still make the mistake of thinking it's 2009 for pricing. It's not. Everything is more, I mean everything. But $250 for a MT might be pushing it even from Leatherman. I'll show it's features and tell you if it's worth it in this efficient warehouse review.

Wish Leatherman would bring back a light weight multitool.

I have one of the Leatherman Arcs from the very first run. Overpriced? Definitely. Awesome? Yes. I still carry it everyday.

Dude dude dude.... TNP partner Juice CS2/CS4 short rerun would be epic. Dude. I'd legit pay $250 for one.

Matt B.

Really can’t do it when you can get a Wave for half the price.

I personally feel like Leatherman is a company that's been resting on their laurels for a long time. Their quality control has not been that great lately and, in my opinion, the free series was a gimmick. My multitool enthusiasm is more directed at the awsome things roxon is doing now. I'm glad you call it like you see it, nutn. Love the work you do for us!

My wife got me a surge for my birthday this week. I own 10 leathermans. All have been excellent. However, this one is already going back for warranty. End caps were grinded too small and the whole tool had bad play in it. Couldn’t even hold a pocket clip without it moving 1/2” back and forth. Lots of sharp edges. It’s a 2025 year model. I know they will make it right. It will be interesting to see what they say when I send it back.

Yeah, Love the Squirt S2, I mean Juice S2!! The Leatherman Squirt PS4 was actually pretty good too, lightweight, keychain grade. Mine actually got confiscated at the airport because of that. The Juice S2 is my most carried MT since about 2010!! Still have my original Leatherman from 1993 that Dad gave me. Super love that original, but mostly for sentimental reasons!!

Dude, Dude, Dude, For sure!!!

Knife REVIEW. While I'm sad its not 45 mins of nutn talking about a leatherman, i'm not upset that its 12 minutes either. hahaha.

Also, am I the only one who wants to tie nutn to a chair, get all his gloves that have holes in them and burn them in a fire in front of him so he goes and buys some not broke ass gloves? I'm over here like "okay, I'll try using gloves beyond normal like nutn." So what happened the other night? Burnt my fucking finger cause the tip is blown out and I grabbed the wrong set of my 2 pair of mechanix gloves. And of course you can't tell until you burn yourself cause of how the finger is messed up.

I bought my Leatherman rebar in 2015 at the PX....prices have kept me from buying any new Leathermans.

at the price point it is def a hard pill to swallow. i bought 2 Leatherman ARCs in Limited-edition Obsidian back in oct 2024. ive carried 1 every day since and the other 1 never left its original box. previously i carried a Leatherman Charge+ TTi for many years before that. the ARC is an upgrade over the charge. since having an ARC in my pocket every day, i would have to get a replacement if I ever lost it. it doesnt get used hard, but it comes in handy in a pinch from a guy who works in the IT support field. they sell a small (tiny) ferro rod and pin that gets hidden under the scissors which adds an extra firestarting tool to ur kit! i got mine off esty. TL;DL I love my ARC and i see it as a buy once/cry once purchase. unless i lose it, then i have to buy twice.

Love the Surge model. Use one as my EDC and yes it's heavy. But I have one in the truck, fishing box, camp gear bag and my BUG bag. I do have the extra bits with all but my EDC

The Nutnfancy Project

All great points Joe. I will do a Leatherman Wave OBSIDIAN review and I in that I add my addtl thoughts on the ARC, I think you'll like them

Kinoons

Still rocking the same wave I bought 15+ years ago (along with the manix 2 LW). They work. No need to replace.

KetchupDDuce

Perfect timing, I'm currently looking at the MUT or Signal for work/everyday. They all seem kinda pricy nowadays but then again I'm still stuck in the last decade. It would be much more appealing if you could custom order specific tools and materials for current pricing.

TNSheep

It actually is. 10-15 really is the sweet spot.

David Forsberg

Leatherman is good for their warranty. My EDC Surge I bent the tip on the small driver. They replaced it no questions asked.

David Forsberg

I like the idea. Let TD pick a color choice I would love to see the choices.

Been waiting for this review!

You can get these for $200 and cheaper at Amazon and other online retailers.

Quick story. I was out one day one during a tornado warning. Multiple trees went down in the area and the perfectly sized piece of wood got wedged in between the set of dually tires on the driver side of my truck. (Ideally you don't run crap over but sometimes you have to) Once I got far enough away I pulled over and used my Leatherman multitool saw to cut chunks out of the piece on wood until I could de-wedge it. So when nutn says a saw is a good thing to have I would have to concur.
