I’m so sad they axed the juice S2. Such BS. C’mon leatherman. I still have mine like yours (old style)...yeah they are going for a LOT on eBay.

Nicolas Royston

Aww, I was just about to go to bed. New plan.

For me, the MT vids are the best part of TNP. So thank you for that. Thumbs up. But sadly the Centerdrive is a no go for the reasons you articulate. For one, its too spendy, even with a tool set and sheath on Amazon for $84. That's up there in Swisstool and ST300 territory, which are far superior in their design elegance. The multi-step process of deploying the file, etc., is also a big downside, especially compared to the quick-deploying exterior tools on the Swisstool. And as you note, no scissors. But the biggest downer for Gerber is overall cheapy design and manufacturing feel of Gerbers generally. I would be in at $54 just to have a new toy. But at $100 +/-, no thanks. Rock on, TNP Collective!

Great review. The Centerdrive has design elements like my old Gerber multi-tool, such as how the pliers deploy. Though, I could flick my wrist to deploy those pliers one handed. The center drive screwdriver is a nice feature, but I would not want to give up my scissors. I daily carry my Leatherman Juice S2. I have a Leatherman Wave also for more heavy duty tasks.

David Gaines

We haven’t had a new MT review in a long time! Awesome!

Christopher Sean Weiser

I have loved my Victorinox SwissTool BS Multi Tool for over ten years and prefer it much more than the gerber/leatherman. I love that you only open it for the pliers and everything locks open. Plus I found it on an FTX in the deep woods.

Adam Boyd

I'm good with my Gerber Dime on my Keychain every day. Still have an old school Leatherman Supertool from my Air Force days in the 90s if needed.

Jacob Leage

S4GC Leatherman. I was interested in the Centerdrive when I first heard about it but once I saw the over-the-top-advertisement I knew I’d never buy it. Your MT vids are a favorite of mine, keep em coming, keep em feature length. Thanks Nutn.

Connor Murphy

I can't believe Leatherman discontinued the Juice line. I wish I had more than one s2!

I pocket carry a Leatherman rebar daily. I primarily use the pliers more than anything else. The "screwdriver" function isn't enough for me to try it. I am glad Gerber did make something different and cool, though it's not for me.

David Kyser

S4GC = SOG. Although I carry a lot of different stuff, and have many Micro MT, LMT and HDMT...which I blame on you , Nutn...

"That's up there in Swisstool and ST300 territory, which are far superior in their design elegance. The multi-step process of deploying the file, etc., is also a big downside," Great observations as always PM and agree. I do like how Gerber is trying but the CD is just not elegant enough for us.

MT reviews are so interesting in terms of POU, always fun and I always learn something. I carry a Gerber Suspension that I got for $35 and to be honest it totally works for me, and I use it every day (mostly knife, pliers, flat-head driver). But it'd be nice to upgrade sometime and I've been thinking about the options for a while now. This is an option to consider!

Juice S2 is the EDC MT. Squirt was too small and most of the full size models are in various car kits or bag systems. Everyone is a leatherman, including the original one which they repaired free when I broke the original design can opener blade back in the dark ages. This MT looks like its missing the nut driving bit set. If you want all the weight, you might as well carry something that does it all. What about a ratchet drive too?

#Stage4Clinger, #TooltoToolChallenge (what!?) Awesome Nutn and great review. "Stage4Clinger" is now in my vocabulary. Nutn Tactical Patch w/ that on it in our future!? Daily carry for me -Juice 2 and Steve Rice pry bar. Bought Juice 2's for all our kidz based on my experience and your recommendation. Please keep up the awesome vids!

Paul Griech

My center drive actually broke at riviot pin the Center-Drive couldn’t handle the torque when twisted. Unfortunately I don’t know how to add pictures on Patreon but after that and no response from Gerber when I emailed them. I bought the Leatherman charge tti for work I won’t ever switch again.

The Nutnfancy Project

The Juice is such a great size and lots of utility. Leatherman likes to retire tools after awhile which is fine. I don't think the Juice quite crossed that line of widespread popularity to stay in the line forever however.

Shane Lukow

The juice s2 is no more...that makes me sad

Kinoons

Spyderco and leaterman for a decade. Guilty as charged.

Charles New

Gerber dime is $ 15 bucks and has scissors , is only 2.3 oz,,,,and bonus can choose from, black, blue, green, red or purple. I always have one on me.

Jim Ferebee

Thank you for the review.

Colin Ford

Thank you for the multitool review!

Jacob Hurst

I carry a wingman. It retired my Gerber that I carried for years. And i would have to say the scissors are the most used part of my MT. Thanks for great content!

Racing Psychosis

Same here, use the tweezers, the sheep's foot and little scissors a lot primarily. Durable enough.

Racing Psychosis

It makes me sad that it does not have scissors.

Kevin White

was that an ar15 front sight tool in the bit set?

Joshua Pulliam

Thank you for the review Nutn! I will cling to my Leatherman Wave Plus that I carry everyday at work. In reference to foster parenting. My wife and I are licensed foster parents and I can tell you that it is impossible not to get attached to the children that are placed in your home. Thankfully we were able to adopt the first three children that were placed with us. However, last December we had to say god bye to a sweet little baby girl. It really is like having your heart ripped out and I worry for her well being everyday.

James Young

Anyone know have a specifoc recommendation on a good bug out bag multitool? This Gerber seems too heavy.

Jim Holland

Stage 4 clinger Spyderco Manix 2. In my pocket edc it for over 10 years now.

david rockwell

The review while in-depth and well presented, did little to dissuade me from Leatherman. The worn Wave, Rebar and Signal have many years of abuse with only the sheaths failing to live up to task (big let down). Leatherman tools (American produced models) are the standard few measure up to. Regarding scissors, they are extremely valuable and sorely missed when not present. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.

Andrew Goody

Good to see some more MT reviews. Nothing has come out that’s taken me away from my S2 or Wingman, but I have to believe it will happen some day! Have you tried the Free P2/P4 series? They look interesting but for the price, I’m not sold on magnets yet.

Sheepdog

Stage 4 Glock, Victorinox, Spyderco, Kershaw, Ruger gear clinger.

While watching this, I'm playing with my SOG Twitch II in stainless. I recently found a chip in my old Formica topped built in desk. It's right in the middle front of the desk, and is aboiut the size of a half dollar exposing the rough wood underneath. I realized it makes the perfect place to stab the tip of whatever pocket knife I'm 'fondling' (as Nutn has described it) while watching TNP vids. Mini-nirvana!

Sheepdog

14:40 "When I drive a screw... I like a longer shank"... I can't believe you laid off of that one!

The Nutnfancy Project

Great MT choice, Wave remains one of my favorites for sure. Thanks for the foster parent insight and I can't imagine how hard that would be. Thanks for doing such a great service to us all...fix the family, fix the world!

Joshua Pulliam

The sheath is definitely a big let down. I got my wave in December and the sheath is already about worn out.

dakota j williams

had one, misplaced it, as an electrician the wire cutters were garbage, probably wont buy it again unless they change the cutters in the future, (no info if they adapted them on the centerdrive plus) i wanted this thing to be my one multi tool solution but the cutters were such a let down, there no excuse for a bad cutter
