A surprising KRV!  Here we go deep into the mountains to test the very interesting CRKT Mah Chete!  The scenery backdrop is epic and we find a lot of dead wood.   We tune the Mah Chete up a bit here, chopping, scraping, drilling, and delimbing.  Big surprise:  Mrs Nutnfancy is here and she amazingly gets involved making a wilderness spear.  She says she'd buy one.  A wolf barks in the distance.  In the end we liked all the elements of the well designed big woods blade...well done Liong Mah.

Buy a worksharp Ken onion edition with the grinding attachment and you will stop caring about flat versus convex.

That's awesome your wife can go with you now on more adventures. She's a great camera operator. The Yamaha Wolverine is awesome as always. That is a nice looking knife and great scenery. I think I'll need to get a machete to help clear some remote family property in the near future.

KRV awesomeness went up an order of magnitude with Mrs Nutn along. Thanks for sharing the moments. I recently bought a Kershaw 1077 for the same POU. Factory edge..meh, relief angle moved back and it is a worthy tool. The Kershaw's rubber overmolded grip does well for impaired grip, and it is large enough for my XL glove hands. Gruesome fact; poor kids in the 3rd world poop in bottles and get high whiffing methane..no wonder the Mrs giggles so much.

I think they use a WorkSharp at Cabelas for the free knife sharpening. One time the guy rounded a tip on one of my older knives.

Zachary Jackson

Yeah you can’t just use the worksharp... you have to actually know how to use it and then use it. If you sit on the tip... it goes away. It’s a grinder. I would never allow someone to do a free sharpening for me.

IndianaBen

Really like the in-field reviews. And thanks so much for the content flow! Been a morale boost we all need lately. Do you have the 10/22 Takedown Magpul Backpacker in the pipeline? Yes I just got one and I think it’s just super cool, unique features. But interesting to hear your thoughts. I would think it really has some SAWC advantages for a bugout bag, etc, very efficient with the magazine storage and self-containment

Zachary Jackson

Once you own one and have learned how to use it on any crappy knife... everything else is easy and NOT TIME CONSUMING. belts costs way les than stones.

Paul Griech

That was cool I love that she at least gave it a go good job mrs nutn

Steve Dutton

That is awesome! Go Mrs Nutn, go ! The knife is pretty cool, too.

Sheepdog

My wife and I have been married since 1988 as well. When you've been together that long, you do get comfortable with each other :-)

Sheepdog

I love seeing the Mrs. Nutnfancy. She is such a good sport! Nutn:"Do you want to come up with me every time to test knives?" Mrs. Nutn: "Not EVERY time"... what a sweetheart you have for a wife!

TheOlsonOutfit

A wolf call, oh my! At least there wasn't bear scat ;-) Seems like a great knife for the price. I enjoy the Big KRVs.

NatvMan

Nutnfancy talks about survival guns in this video. He has a 10/22 takedown. But Nutn's favorite is his marlin papoose.

NatvMan

Mrs. Nutn: "This is my weapon of choice." Great example of family love, not sure if she was being sarcastic though.

Andrettski

she was pointing at the bear spray, not at the mighty bear warrior

Andrettski

Great vid guys. Glad to see the mrs. jumpin' right in there and dominating that spruce limb. I was happy you left the cache at home, just means for one of those to come out west :-)

Randall Steen

How cool is it that you can share that with your wife. God bless you. I do miss the Swedish chef. I laugh till my stomach hurts.

Ol Retired Fed

So glad you can get out in the trees

Ol Retired Fed

Hopefully Utah will avoid all the fires that the rest of the west is experiencing.

Great knife, great video. Nutn ,what was the music in the video. It was teenie bobber crap. Go with the old school tracks

David and Elizabeth

Little Jessica says she's Mrs. Cutnfancy. 🤣😂 👨‍👩‍👧❤

Connor Murphy

Great video, in-field tests are the best. It's always nice when Mrs. Nutn joins you.

Kenny VanCleave

Looks like an early video, no windshield. I wonder how that area did during the wildfires?

Adam Boyd

Mrs. Nutn' was a major upgrade to another awesome krv! Glad to see CRKT putting out more good stuff. Love the in field testing for woods blades. It would be cool if you could roll in some testing for tactical blades too, during tabletops.

Zak Orendorff

It’s good to see your wife in more of you vids, especially here recently. Good job Nutn. Loving the content.

Racing Psychosis

Wolf?? That sounded more like a barking spider.

Michael B warner

It's really fun seeing you guys out adventuring she was having fun chopping that tree. She surprised me especially after hearing you talk about her lack of interest in wilderness adventures over the years lol.

J Ram

Get that woman a pair of mechanix Colonel and maybe she will join you every time, lol!

The Nutnfancy Project

Gotcha, thanks for the input. I'm too the point I will rarely use music unless a nature video.

The Nutnfancy Project

Recent video! I just had the WS and enclosure removed because it sucks dust in. That area (Whitney Reservoir trail by WY) did ok, but East Grandaddy Mtn burnt bad.

The Nutnfancy Project

"It would be cool if you could roll in some testing for tactical blades too, during tabletops" Copy that, I will try to put more cutting video in the tabletops. One thing I have to do though is make sure I'm willing to buy the blade; with wear on it I can't return it to BHQ if loaned! That could be $$

Adam Boyd

That makes sense 👍

Aquanaut

What brand are the gloves you're wearing? Time for another glove review maybe?

Steve Naylor

Mah Chete or ESEE Junglas? Love the flag patch and reviews with guest stars

Casey Jones

My wife isn’t a fan of the wolves either

Colin Ford

Great video!! Awesome to see Mrs. Nutn enjoying it! Yall are an awesome inspiration to young couples.

David Elkins

Blade reminds me a bit of Aragorn’s blade in LOTR movies. Looks like a good chopper and splitter.

David R Benkendorf

I want to put the full stock on a Henry mare's leg in .44

Daniel Herb

Pretty hefty looking blade. I am very interested, but I will wait to see what the holidays bring....
