We take it to the Bunker to discuss both the philosophy and specifics of Bartering or trading for what you'll need in WROL.  Key considerations are discussed that you should remember for both equitable and safe trading after hyper inflation and/or societal collapse.  It will be impossible for you to have everything you will need so you'd be wise to stock up on these TNP recommended bartering items.

Many barter ideas, most original, are suggested.  More viewer suggested traded items will be added on as the video is published (see below) and these no doubt will also be excellent to consider.  Of course your available storage space is discussed and considered.

Most of these items are affordable and store a very long time.  Get as much of it as you can because you will be shocked how quickly it goes.  All will have HIGH VALUE when the shelves go bare, fuel supplies dry up, and there's little or no medical or hygiene available.  These are practical items that will HELP your traders and give you value as well in getting items you will need!

Todd Strelka

Wow, always thinking outside of the box. Looking forward to this.

Stryker33

Me with a half eaten snickers bar. Nutn: I'll give you 3 sheets of TP (1ply), 0.7 oz of water, and an acorn ...Deal

Cheesewell

Perfect! Got snowed in today. Thanks Nutin.

Jonathan-James

During times like this you need to watch your butt. Toilet paper makes it that much easier.

Hold Fast Joe

Utah gold backs Or Nevada gold backs

Caleb11b

Just started watching this, I've been getting everything from pre 65 quarters and dimes since they are 90% silver, tp, liquors cigarettes and coffee even though I dont consume any of them, feminine hygiene products, but of course modern wompum .22lr.

Matt Mcdonnell

Food, food, food!!! Just got another freezer, have a half hog going into it, probably claiming a quarter steer in may. Canning veggies and gardening also. Look up making a distiller for making alcohol (combustion engine use only) of course. Distillers yeast, water, and sugar. I don’t drink but great barter item.

David Gaines

Love these situational and philosophical videos. These are probably the best thing about TNP.

bugout

nutn! thoughts on LCRX 3inch 22LR w speedloaders vs your s&w 422 variant... or even keltec p17 22lr???

Mike S

Is the bunker really in Wyoming? I thought Nutn lived in Utah.

Guy Actual

I stock on small bottles of liquor (both airplane size and 8oz size), silver, 22ammo, and some other ammo. We also have lots of freeze dried rice and beans, and other basic foods for both bartering and helping others. A harvest right freeze dryer is one of the best investments I've ever made. It runs CONSTANTLY. (Its literally 4 hours till final dry is done now on a dozen galla apples and a half gallon of whole milk)

David Gaines

Can we get an LCP 22lr review?!

Guy Actual

Also, I'd advise anyone that has not read the book Patriots by James Wesley Rawls to pick up a soft cover or audio book immediately! It contains some numbers and info condensed into one location. Also, its a good read. The audio book is really good too.

David and Elizabeth

Emotionally difficult to contemplate but an absolutely necessary discussion to have and take seriously. Thanks, Nutn, for your continued service to humanity through the project. 👨‍👩‍👧❤

Bill The Broken

Man we are greatful that you have multiple platform options for when the boobtube overlords finish their purge. Already set up on ugetube. Many other content providers I follow and respect have made their way over to rumble. The vid quality is excellent and it doesn't seem any different from youtube from an end user perspective. Keep it up Nutn - thank you.

Sam Robinson

Maybe it’s actually Two Owl City, USA

Hold Fast Joe

You might get free buckets if you go to a small pizza shop. They tend to get them with peppers and pizza toppings they purchase and often overran with buckets. I got a bunch of free buckets from pizza shops

Antwon Harris

Candles, kerosene fuel and kerosene lamps. Glass ones preferably if you can find them. When the power goes out those lamps are invaluable.

Antwon Harris

Paper matches. Omg, when Hurricane Michael slapped us around here in the FL panhandle, I have a gallon bag full of the not so good MRE matches. But they work.

Douglas Pack

Ooooh I’m excited about this video. I’m about 1 min in and oh yeah 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’m curious what your thoughts are on steel cased ammo using mostly steel bullets...this was new to me until I watched this video (here’s the link) But...seems like it is REALLY hard on your barrel. Thanks for all you do. https://youtu.be/JfDZ-ABceo8

Antwon Harris

Cheap gun cleaning kits, like the $20 ones from Walmart.

Kenny VanCleave

The way I approach storage is two levels. Toilet paper for instance. We store the standard rolls for today's use. For long term I purchased those 12'x48" tubes for setting posts in concrete. I purchased large commercial grade rolls. Those you find in Walmart restrooms. I fill them up and tape the ends really well and stick them up between the joists in the basement. Same with food. What I carry for bartering is drugs, alcohol (like bourbon and gin) and ammo (9mm and 556). I even bought odd ammo when it was super cheap like 357 sig. Great video. More people need to see this.

Trustful Marksman

Hey Nutn I noticed the M1A in the background. Did you get the CASM mount for it?(I just re watched "Fear not you have an M1A" yesterday) Got an update?

Hold Fast Joe

I don't think you're wrong. The rifle precision guys at my club estimate they only get 2000 rounds down a barrel before they see a change in spread. With the steel stuff I bet it reduces barrel life. They're using custom everything and expecting 1/10 moa, so don't think your done after 2k. It's just an example here

Greg

My thoughts on ammo: Are you going to give ammo to a stranger in WROL? Maybe they'll use it for nefarious purposes or maybe they'll use it against you. Only trade ammo with trusted people (family, micro community).

Doug Rose

I would suggest NOT storing aquarium Tetracycline, it can degrade to toxic chemicals.

Connor Murphy

Great video, Nutn. I always appreciate your wise insight.

David Wood

Great Vid Nutn! Thanks for the thought and work you put into these.

Red dog 1

Loved the video Nutn. I recommend a little physical silver on hand too. What’s up with the all black apparel?

Andrettski

Nutn's throwing everyone off scent...who knows where it's at really

Daniel Defoe

DIXIE!!! You want solid paper plates, bowls, cups plus cutlery... All made in the US... and it pays my paycheck which pays you... Just sayin'. We also make Bounty, Angel Soft, Northern Quilted and Georgia Pacific wood products.

Jamie Ayers

Good stuff Nutn!!!! Thanks for the work. Keep up the fire!

Andrettski

I've got 50 Bic lighters and always keep a dozen or more of their BBQ ones. Dollar Tree has generic ones but they work. Lot's of full propane tanks from 1 lb'ers to 25 gallons. I also always have 25+ bags of charcoal briquettes for another way to cook.

Andrettski

I live in the Pacific NW near a lot of mountain rivers and streams to boil water if necessary. I'm less than 5 minutes off the Columbia River for bulk for toilets. Oh, plus my rain barrels. My wife and I have about a 3 month supply of drinking water. Lots of extra liquor/wine/coffee/ammo to use or barter.

Tom Cairns

Great video! At least up north that real common common red Swiss Army knife (same features as a cadet, but had red scales with toothpick and tweezers) go on sale for like 10$ at Canadian Tire. Really high value to barter or just throw in kits.

Kelly McClellan

Dang! You got a lot more space than I do. That’s awesome.

Kelly McClellan

From what I understand, the jacket on steel cased ammo is thinner and that leads to more barrel wear. I still shoot it in my cheaper guns.

Andrettski

Toothpaste/brushes. Listerine. Q-tips anything personal hygiene. Hydrogen peroxide. I recently saw gallon jugs of isopropyl alcohol on clearance at Wal-mart. Bleach/vinegar/soaps of all kinds. Any and all kinds of first aide stuff. Sorry posted all this B4 getting through the vid.

steve garrett

I read that bosnian story, holy crap what a real world story that was. The scary part of the story was how women were impacted. What they were willing to do to survive. this is real, we need to be able to protect our families. I have huge concerns about the level of high density housing that was recently put around my home and how little preparedness the people in that housing typically have. My wife and I are looking to move because of it.

OpFor

Great video topic, I've been wanting to see something like this from you for a while. Clippers are great

Patrick Brichta

Hey Nutn, great video. I Always love these sorts of videos . Great point about the Lighters. The only caveat is from my own experience, you gotta make sure that you keep them temperature controlled. A few years back I bought a pack of 100 off of Amazon, captain in the garage, I guess they got to warm over the summer. I checked on them a few months later in about 2/3 had lost all of their gas. Also great recommendation about salt . Salt is not only good for making food tasty, it is also Essential Sodium and chloride to keep our bodies moving. If you remember in the book Alas Babylon, entire section of the book was devoted to them having to go on a mission to procure salt because everybody was becoming weak and fatigue. When you working hard and not replenishing your salt, bad things can start to happen very quickly. Also, any of your items if you have access to a vacuum sealer are great to seal into bags. Now it keeps all the bugs and moisture away from it for me. I do that with all my salt, beans, rice, seeds. Condoms, another great barter item.

Marko B.

Hey boys and girls :) I have been following Nutn for some time and started to "prep" like a year a go. Till then i just wasn't really thinking about it and it's expensive. Had to start from the ground up and now i can say i have some preperations under the roof. Too bad i'm the only one in my family who is thinking this way, so the budget goes just from my wallet :( ...anyways; for now i do have food for over a year for 4 people (like normal sized meals), medicaments i do try to buy and save but they are hard to get on a free market, got a gun licence and bought few guns, rifles and ammo (i also try to shoot as much as i can) but in Europe gun laws suck and probably they will take away our guns. Hope not tho. Most of the things Nutn is explaining, i'm more or less covered for myself and the family, but not really for bartering. Anways, there is still a long way to go and hope we will never need such things. Btw, here is the link of that bosnian guy explaining the war. I'll leave the link active for few weeks, but after i do need the online space so maybe someone who has a better option can download it and then upload again for a longer time period. Take care! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gsuvkq8sl6d7q1m/AAAlbfqxD5HX7-8UR3wyZf1qa?dl=0

Austin Crumm

Nutn, would you ever do a video with another popular guntuber, such as garand thumb?

Andrettski

I wish I had Mike of mrgunsandgear for a neighbor and several of his fellow squad members.

Brettano

Where to get professional medical kits?

Felscream

Just created an account and subbed on UGEtube.

Felscream

Look up trauma kits and you can piece it out off Amazon. Chest seals, Israeli bandages, trauma sheers, tourniquets (2+), Nasal Pharyngeal, etc.

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

Problem with liquid bleach is that it has a short shelf life. Beach starts breaking down. I rotate mine about twice a year. Im looking at storing powdered chlorine.

Randall

Chapstick will be worth its weight in gold

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

On the subject of soap you can get 5 gallon buckets of powered laundry detergent at Lowes.

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

Not just digging tools i think all hand tools like sledge hammers, axes, bolt cutters, etc will be valuable.

Lon N

Bleach, don't store the liquid -buy 'pool shock' powdered 73% calcium hypochlorite with no other additives. 24 x 1 pound bags for 100$. 5 pounds of pool shock will make 650 gallons of bleach.

Lee

Three words should guide your barter stockpile purchases ... desirability (In dire times), longevity (shelf life of the product), and affordability, (don’t break the bank stocking up). Mason Gotto

hey i thought it would be interesting to ask the group what was the first nutnfancy video you watched. mine was " and many will die of thirst" water storage video. i was just getting into preparing a little bit, found his video, and then just bin watched a ton from there. i feel many of you will have a similar story.

Mason Gotto

definitely bolt cuts, way under valued

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

I think it was his nimravus cub review from like 2008.

James Young

North American Rescue (NAR) is one of the standard ones people recommend. LA Police gear sells them and a lot of other companies

Kansaspartan762

I wish patron would let me background Play this video. Ah well

steve garrett

texas digger, LOL yeah I am familiar with it, from growing up on a ranch in texas, LOL yes it was a tool we always used for all kinds of shit. and YES I have the same one I used as a kid still today, grabbed it when cleaning out my dads place when he passed

Rick Grad

I’m glad you said something about hour long videos Nutn. You’ve been cranking out some serious videos lately, but the feature length ones are always my favorite.

Mike M

As always, great video! Just added some additional things to the shopping list. Glad to hear you mentioned entertainers on this list. I’m a musician and this year i realized I needed to start stocking up on guitar strings, it would be tragic to have a guitar with no strings to strum. Plus the strings can come in handy for other things like bartering with other musicians or making snares to catch small game if you need.

Metal-Militia

I really like hour videos. Awesome content, we want more.👍 👌 👏 😀

Boone Mill Farm

Dude, I was right here Feb 6th 2019. I spent 10K in a land of plenty. By May, 20K into it, still a land of plenty. Evolved into a farmer, food production, still growing that. Broke out a canner, got busy. Medical is paramount, meds are so important, but you need to know witch one, when and why. Books are a YEA. Get your water supply together, most important. This is city slicker info but much of it is viable for all if carefully thought out in the barter process or not. Sort of, kinda maybe. I have 10.5 months head start. Do I have it all, hell no. Will I barter, oh yea. The one thing you have to understand, you need people, community. LEE got it, well thought out. Shelter, water, food. Say hello to your priorities. Get these done. And POPULATION DENSITY is a thing. Get the hell out now. PLEASE. He lives in the Salt Lake area, pop xxxK? I live in a community with 17 homes, all fairly like minded.but different. We meet weekly. This is a great thought process video, good, think.......... Do what you have to do.

A

You can also throw paper plates and cups on the fire. Burn the garbage to keep away critters.

Racing Psychosis

Since I see so many other great posts, I'll select the bookworm topic to expand upon. My bug-in place has lots of reading materials, and don't be well all I want is survivalist books, you'll bore the hell out your other members, don't get me wrong, but you also need other things. So...I like gun digests, gun magazines, how-to books, medical books, cook books, history books, survival fiction: Angery American writes some good ones; entertainment: Jack Carr/Vince Flynn/Brad Thor/Bernard Cornwell/Simon Scarrow; Comicbooks for the kids; I have a variety of engine books like Chevy V8 / Ford V8 / Briggs & Stratton 4-stroke small engines; Street Survival Skills: Tips, Tricks and Tactics for Modern Survival Paperback – August 11, 2019 by Fernando "Ferfal" Aguirre; The Modern Survival Manual: Surviving the Economic Collapse Paperback – September 11, 2009 by Fernando "Ferfal" Aguirre. I like Fernando's books as he has lived through a collapse in Argentina.

Carsen Bower

Couldn't help but to think of going into the store and buying 20 boxes of sudafed, you would get put on a list

Jason Boyles

Gas storage length will vary greatly depending on your location. In Phoenix, gas will turn into varnish within 6 months sometimes. Stabil is ok, I find the enzyme stabilizers to work even better though. I believe the brand is Star Tron.

Micahbraedon

Watching at work behind the wire. Podcast style at my desk. I need Nut'n to get my wife to stop throwing away everything that is out of date, with obvious exceptions of course. Love the video. Thanks Nut'n for the more than marginal content. Keep it coming.

The Nutnfancy Project

Yay! I love hearing that I will continue to work hard and post as much as possible.

The Nutnfancy Project

THanks Boone for all the info and congrats on getting all that done! "And POPULATION DENSITY is a thing. Get the hell out now. PLEASE." You got that right my friend. Remote is better.

The Nutnfancy Project

I actually bought a SS ventilated burning grate to incinerate trash. But that's another video!

The Nutnfancy Project

Great reading ideas RP, thanks much. If you have room, a library in your main location is highly rec'd!

The Nutnfancy Project

Me too. Thanks Rick! We are running on full engine power here in Patreon. I could post 4x faster too but that overwhelms dudes.

The Nutnfancy Project

Music calms the soul and makes people happy. Good musicians like yourself will be in demand MIke. Glad you're getting extra strings!

Matthew C Calkins

find the books titled "where there is no..." doctor, dentist, vetranarian.

Matthew C Calkins

Just having seeds and dirt dosent mean stuff will grow.

ThisWe'llDefend

True statement. Other antibiotics will degrade over time but not become toxic. However I recommend keeping some doxycycline around, just mind the expiration date.

Carsen Bower

I would get put on a government list, I meant, they already take my driver's license

Marko B.

Huh, probably the XDM 4" 9mm review and i bought it afterwords. I have tested that pistol before in real life and on youtube i was just scouting for the review, that would be realistic. Nutn's video clicked with me and thats how i ended up here.

Mitch Schutter

I think Nutn did a mini review on that book in his video, "How I would have died in WROL" or something like that. And he was not impressed by it.

Scott Orr

Just jumped over to UGETube and subscribed Nutn. Let's keep it rolling!!!

Gorn

gloves

DisisSnake

Definitely not the time for gun review request but, can you check out the Charles Daly 601. It’s a Benelli m4 clone for less than $600

Jake Davis

Great video. Does anyone know of a resource other than tnp that would have great info for homestead prepping? I recently bought 5 acres in Oklahoma to build on and want to plan the build with preparedness and homesteading in mind?

Kyle Soucy

Awesome video. Lots of great ideas in the comments as well. One addition: sugar and/or honey.

Nita

Yep..found you on Ugetube! 😀

Nita

Aluminum foil pretty handy too, esp thicker kind. Dollar Tree has cheap rolls 40 sq ft $1, maybe good for small barter and good in a pinch for yourself to avoid using the heavy duty stuff unless you really need it.

Nita

Right now on YouTube, but Provident Preppers have many excellent videos and they respond to you personally too- nice people. They do have a book on Amazon too also in ebook. They are also very active in teaching emergency preparedness. They have web site too. https://theprovidentprepper.org/ At this point, Im getting paper versions of useful thing in case things just go poof one day. ..Also... Homesteaders of America on mewe and youtube. They have own web site too so no need to join mewe ...and Backwoods Home . Mas Ayoob also has firearms articles here . you can get their paper magazines at Tractor Supply along with other homesteading books. https://www.backwoodshome.com/ https://homesteadersofamerica.com/ Homesteaders of America https://mewe.com/p/homesteadersofamerica

Jake Davis

Thank you. I will check them out.

weston wilson

buy those smaller fuel gas and kersoene containers at homedepot. Alsotorically sometimes had only ONE set of clothes and it sewing, machine, thread, books, and fabrics. People will have clothes and need repairs.

James R

Funny you say this I just replaced all my tools with new quality tools since all my other bases are covered my prob is finding like minded peeps around me man these people are sleeping still

Joey

Awesome video Nutn! Keep the feature length Vids coming!

Racing Psychosis

Here in the midwest, we need to avoid the fuel with the ethanol in it, even with the stabilizers. I've seen so many engines after winter with and without stabilizers that are all fouled up because the ethanol.

david rockwell

This video should be be nothing but a reminder for all Patron supporters. The mention of guitar or accordion (i.e. squeeze box) was awesome. We always prepare for the worst case but often fail to consider morale building and feeling happy. Thank you for the continued time and effort.

Mason Gotto

ya i would love a food video, you did a few, years back with, honeyville i think it was. would love something in the vain of the water storage video.

Cory Risseeuw

You are at 1,387 on UGETube. I will follow anywhere yo go. I put my money where my mouth is. I am willing to pay a subscription to Parler or some other conservative tech. I canceled my prime account and will never purchase from Amazon ever again.

Joey

My first one was the Kelty Super Tioga backpack review way back in 2008. I’ve been watching ever since!

Racing Psychosis

Very true. That's why I took up the bookworm side of the discussion. Lots of great replies about supplies and general preparedness, but morale is just as important.

Tim Jarvis

Bitchute is a decent alternative as well

Nick Campbell

Yes! Great preparedness discussion. I'm loving it.

Jesse (Sphinx)

Loved this video. One of the best. Too many preppers stop with guns/ammo, and even the good ones who focus on these types of items don’t go to to next step and think about extras of these types of items for bartering. One thought: I would not trade ammo to anyone outside my MC. Maybe a neighboring “ally” MC. Just a thought. Ok another thought: I like junk silver (pre-1950s US coins) because they combine recognizable value (coins) with intrinsic value (90% silver) and it’s fairly easy to transport. Remains to be seen if silver coinage will work WROL.

Jesse (Sphinx)

My iPhone lets me Picture in Picture...I was taking notes in notepad app while watching

Jesse (Sphinx)

My first one was 2011. Was either spyderco delica or pacific salt. Ended up buying a pacific salt—first ever spyderco. Had dozens since! Sharpened about 1/8” off that pacific salt and then eBayed it and got $50 used! All my spydies are compression locks now.

BVeck

Cold Steel Trailmaster video was my first. Then once I saw the awesome breakdowns of POU and all the categories I was in. Loved the camping videos and adventures. Heck I love it all.

BVeck

I wish we could get a pdf or word document of your philosophy videos. I take notes but bet I miss stuff. You’re the only guy my wife and I trust completely in your reviews and the information you put out.

Derek W Tiller

sweet beatle! don't forget epoxy puddy. can not emphasize enough how useful it is.

Josh P.

Besides the quality video with lots of info, I cant get enough of the Expression on nutns face in the video header Haha keep it up nutn, God bless y'all

Sushytacos

Truly...just a beautiful thumbnail.

Chris Kales

Nutn, You mentioned your solar charging system (car batteries & panel). You could always barter the electricity. If someone needs something charged up, you could barter for the recharge. Just saying.

Nita

If you're going to do laundry by hand, big bar of Zote 99 cents walmart or can get box of flakes few bucks too. Can get small cheap plastic washboard/basin online for camp/travel. If have more space, Home Depot carries standalone laundry tub w/ built in washboard. Think it can be hooked up to garden hose. Would be good when no electricity.

Great list! Oh...on the maps- good luck finding! Barely any around. Not even almighty Amazon has current maps of cities, states, etc. I got a recent 2021 road atlas US, but others are not recent. Barnes and Noble had some but overall, not impressed with them. Need to call Chamber of Commerce during week...but web sites didn't list. We should absolutely not count on GPS. Map stores extremely rare, but just learned of one in Nashville been around 42 yrs still in business! Lets help keep them in business! YT video from a preps channel https://youtu.be/yeZJPvnG3SY. The store link is https://mapagents.com/ . I cant find everything online so calling them this week. This is a true gem! An actual map store wow! I love it. Hope this helps y'all.

That's been a project I fiddle with here and there. Having a ton of E-books and info can be helpful, something cheap and long-term like a kindle with solar, an inverter, and car batteries would be great. People will miss entertainment, they want something to take their mind off of things. Gotta research solar panels more, I'm sure there are some out there that are top of the line but it's looking like they're all pretty much the same.

I hope the FBI is showing everyone just how stupid it is to protest and carry around a pocket narc every place you go. Paper maps don't do the work for you, but they're pretty dependable. thanks for the tip

Nutn, outstanding! One thing which is implicit throughout your vid, but I think important for everyone to remember, is to involve the women. Pioneer women were really what help win the west and they performed enumerable tasks to make that “comfort” for which you speak. But beyond that, they need to feel part of the efforts and can use their talents to make the “shitty” situation more comfortable and also help them worry less. Heck, things like needlepoint, sewing, knitting, even scrapbooking, are excellent ways to utilize talents, add to the overall comfort, and take their minds off the situation. I know the talents of my wife of 30 years, and they are formidable.

Love you, Nutn! Thanks for your prayers! 🙏🏾 Back at you!

When are you gonna do another run of TNP knives? I’m dying for an orange or blue cadet

Where did that live session go? Did patreon remove it?

I do have some TP I could barter with, but I'm trying to stock up on water, OTC meds, and booze.

Some great ideas that I need to incorporate to the old storage area. Might be time to cleanout, and update the old stock.

I wish you’d do some more philosophy videos. My wife and I love them.

We’ve been watching since just about the beginning. And have slowly over time prepared. We really took advantage of the old honeyville sales.
