Another better late than never KRV! I first introduce you to the short form and long form concept for video production...this is a long form.  Then we get into this 4 for 1 knife review where I will cover the really excellent high value Kershaw Emerson CQC collaborations. These are wicked fast deploying thin tactical blades following

the lines of Earnie Emersons CQC line (for the most part, minor grind differences).   My 2005 Emerson re-ground CQC-8 reminds us how awesome the original knives are. But they're a bit expensive for some TNPRs. Enter these Kershaws.  They'll provide the same cutting performance and even levels of 2nd Cool for a low price.  Even the D2 CQC11K at time of posting was only $52!

These models seem to be on the outs so get them while you can.  Blade HQ says they won't be getting anymore. Please use my BHQ links below when you buy and remember BHQ is Pro 2A.  Highly recommended EDC/Tactical folding knives!

I’ve already purchased 3 of em. Maybe my favorite knife.

Kenny Bridges

I love the long format videos. Just every little detail about the item is just some quality entertainment. Like the old school g17 video broken down into multi part videos. I live for those kinda reviews

Christopher Grogan

Think I made 5 mins into the video saw that olive green paused the video went grab 2 because that’s quite awesome price for a great knife

Joe Falzon

Long form vids are the only way to go. UGETube account is open and ready to flock like birds.

Jeremy Gontarz

How do they compare to the large Hunny Badger?

Adam Boyd

Long form krv awesomeness! I've had the CQC 4k "XL" for about 5 years. It's a very nice and capable knife, but it doesn't get in the rotation a lot because it is NOT extra large. It's more of a gentleman's edc blade to me. I'd rather have the Kershaw version than the original. I don't like chisel grinds either and the Emersons just cost too much for what it is.

Christopher Grogan

And the longer videos are definitely better. Or how ever long it takes to get the important stuff out there

Nick Campbell

I got mine around a year ago and love it. Doesn't carry quite as deep in the pocket as I like but that's my only major complaint. I EDC the CQC 6K regularly.

Hector D

Bought the 6K and 10K from BladeHQ. Liked them best. Thanks Nutn.

The Nutnfancy Project

Great to hear Kenny, I appreciate that feedback. I will do more multi parts for the General YT TNP audience, you dudes here won't have to deal with that stuff...long format for many of the reviews!

The Nutnfancy Project

You did that because you are super smart. You will not regret getting these knives, really fun EDC editions. I'm carrying the OD one today.

The Nutnfancy Project

Hmmm. Different animals. I love the Honey Badger, all sizes. Great handle, great shape, quick deploying, good steels. I would say the CQCs will carry easier b. they are so thin. I love the deeper carry on the HB though. BTW special edition TNP HB breaks out on Tuesday, BE READY!!!

The Nutnfancy Project

"Emersons just cost too much for what it is". Yes they are pricey in today's market. And then with these Kershaws people go like "why?" The 4K is too small for me. Try the 11 or 10 with their 3.5" inch blade. As you see in the video they're legit large tactical blades.

Me

Damn! I was actually able to get a coveted Nutn recommendation before it sold!! Thanks Nutn!

David Gaines

TNP cranking out the videos. I’m falling behind lol

Jbocajs .

My wallet hates you Nutn... I picked up the 4K-XL version.

Connor Murphy

I've wanted an original CQC-8 for years, so I'll probably pick up one of these Kershaws. I definitley love the longer videos, feature length rocks.

Alex Copeland

Thank you for the heads up on the edifice sale. I was able to get one with 3 left in stock.

Younggun995

Hey Nutn, I know it's off topic but, how many miles are on your 1190?

Jeremy Gontarz

Thanks for the heads up I think I will save my money for the TNP SE HB!

Schmuckatelli

Paused video as instructed and bought 3 Kershaw Emerson knives from BladeHQ (6K, 10K, and 11K). All 3 of them with tax just a C-note. Very affordable! By the way...size does matter. Long format for her pleasure.

Flying W

Long form all day long. All the off topic mini reviews and side comments add way more value and entertainment for the click. Got the 10K, and 11K and 4KXL in D2. I prefer the better steels when they're affordable. Especially in a versatile slicer like the 11K that's apt to get a lot of field use.

Beck

I like 20min+ videos

Bryan Hodson

I bought the small 3" cqc a few years ago. It's in my fishing gear now. I wasn't too happy with it's size (my fault), and I have to sharpen it quite often (why it's relegated to infrequent tasks). But I decided to get the 11 with D2. Can't beat sub$50. Thank you NUTN Also, I love the long forms. Keep them coming

Devin Heald

Always love longer videos!!!!

Dylan Marcum

I don’t want one of the kershaws but that cqc8 with the green g10 you showed on their site is tempting

colby ruiz

I love Emerson knives. First discovered them from your original CQC 8 review and have bought a few over the years. I was just able to pick up a Persian a few months ago and that knife is just sick. Please keep reviewing Emersons in long format!

The Nutnfancy Project

Good score, they are half of what they normally are! Great watch, reviewing soon. I've worn it all day.

The Nutnfancy Project

Xlnt Sch! Glad you scored them, you'll love the video. General YT audience will be hosed b. all will be sold out! Thanks on the length input too!

The Nutnfancy Project

"Long form all day long. " Copy that Flying W! I'm really happy you guys are responding as I'd hoped with these knives. They're really fun and amazing values.

jeff sikora

These are definitely cool, but the quality isn't great compared to other Kershaws. In the over 12 Kershaws I've owned,, only the Emersons had QC issues. My first was the CQC-6K, it had a screw installed crooked, so the centering was horrible. The blade rubbed the frame and made deployment tricky. It wouldn't flick. I lost that one and replaced it with the CQC- 7K, it has poor centering and rubs the frame a little, but it waves and flicks great. The CQC-11 is awesome, no complaints with it and carried it for six months.

jeff sikora

I would like to recommend the ESEE/ExPat Medellin, its got a great blade shape with AUS-8 steel, stainless steel framelock and FRN scale, for around $50. I just checked BHQ, and of course its discontinued, so jump on it before its too late.

Brad Fegan

Got the CQC-11K back in the beginning of 2019. Do like the knife. Still carrying the Spyderco Manix 2 right now. I prefer longer vids with competitive options.

Matt Scott

I agree with Harold above, but I sure do like the long format with competitive options. So see to forget about the other knives out there.

Jared Strawn

Competitive options is always a must

Aaron Jones

Keep the long format! Picked up a D2 version.

Andrettski

I got the CQC-6K in D2, feels great in hand, G-10 is a little slick. Maybe a knit pick but just having a slotted screw head on the pivot pin looks cheap/cheesy. Mine has great centering and waves nicely which is the main reason I got it. $48, no brainer.

Michael Szymborski

The Kershaw Strata has caught my attention. On a side note... I’ve never been one to pound my chest and say buy American but with what’s going on I’d really rather buy us made blades right now.

Daniel Herb

Still able to get the Kershaw CQC-11K in D2!! B HQ is sold out of the 8Cr14MoV CQC-11K version at this time. Cant wait to hold it.

Bluegill097

Love the feature length stuff! And yes, definitely show your watch of the day and table top decorations they make the vids !

Cyborg009

I never bought these because of knife reviews that focused on the issues with the frame lock, and I am usually not a fan of steel frame locks. Your review made me take another look and I realized that there are liner lock models as well. I purchased one of each of the three available. I own three four real Emersons and the OG Emerson licensed copy from Benchmade. I will report back on my reaction. On the issue of long versus short: there are LOTS of short videos on the Internet for free, and they are more popular. But we don't pay you money for what's free on the Internet; we support you for your USP (not the gun!) which is long, in depth reviews which are grounded in your disclosed preferences, prejudices and philosophies. This translates into your patrons not wasting time and money on gear that is sub-optimal, and more important, being alerted to value gear, whether it is snow jackets or electronic night-fighting systems. I think I speak for many in saying that our subscriptions have a positive ROI. Because you are clear WHY you like certain things or don't, your reviews are very useful. If you want to shorten up a review, skip the intros of the models, watches, etc. that clutter the table or wall. I can take that or leave that.

david rockwell

The Kershaw knives are certainly offer an appealing price point for a licensed Emerson design. $28 -$40 is a very affordable entrée for any basic knife; the Emerson adds the additional motiviation factor. Do they compete with California Emerson knives? Absolutely not. They do offer the a viable alternative. The Mini Commander is a great size for EDC. All aspects of the longer format and feature length faceted video productions are always preferred over original Youtube length videos (i.e. ten minute). Migration into a brief history of fighter and airframe design is a favorite aside in your videos. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.

Cainnech

Love my Kershaw Blur, been my EDC for almost 10 years now
