Powernoodle

Since I don't own a bass boat, season game tickets or golf clubs, I "invest" my discretionary income in almost every Micro 9 that hits the market. The Max 9 competes strongly - and often wins - in my daily struggle to pick the "best" EDC of the genre. I love also its predecessors the LC9S and even the terribly triggered LC9. The whole lineup - including the LCP Max - is 100% reliable, and reliability makes my leg tingle.

David Gaines

Nutn, please keep giving me lists of watches you want to review. If I see some that I like I’ll purchase and send them to you for review.

Schmuckatelli

I had to pause the video and comment on your rant regarding the safety warnings that Ruger stamped into the frame of this gun (and many others). I do not think you ranted enough. It's a freakin' gun, for crap's sake. By design, it is a dangerous item. I would venture to say there's maybe 3 gun owners on the planet that read those safety warnings and said, "Whoa! Wait a minute. I haven't read the manual yet. I better stop what I'm doing and go read it right now." And those 3 gun owners are probably dead now because they ate rat poison before reading the warning label on the box. My point is...you can't fix stupid.

William H

Still carrying the G43

STLParkRanger13 (IG: Sharpshooterjon)

Okay, hear me out: Ruger is the "Weird Al" Yankovich of the firearms world. They take existing hits, tweak the lyrics (features, details, appearance) a little bit, and market the ever-living hell out of it. Sure, it's great for us, the end user, but I miss the days when they were doing their own thing. When their primary carbine was the Mini-14/30, the P-series pistols (which I love still), etc.

Andrettski

I got the original LC9 . As noted by Powernoodle, horrible trigger, but it is a shorts pocket carry summer BBQ pistol. Not a fun gun to shoot. My Sub compact carry is a Springfield XD9 Mod-2 WAY more accurate.

Robert Shuman

Hi Nutnfancy. I actually didn’t buy this gun when it hit the market because I channeled my inner Nutnfancy and determined you would like it, but I should get a p365 instead. I did, and I love it. I assume you already have or are going to, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on the Taurus gx4. Thanks for all your hard work!

Schmuckatelli

From now on, I will always think of Ruger as Weird Al Yankovich when he did the "Eat It" video and was a fat Michael Jackson. 😆🤣😂

Bernal

RPG?! Haha. I saw a TNP video once where Nutnfancy unloads his pockets. Dude had 7 knives on him!. I thought for sure he was going to reveal a hidden hand grenade!!! Hahaha

Andrettski

PROTIFA rolls up on Mrs Nutn coming out of a grocery store packin' a Glock 43. This is not going to go well for the Protifa soy boy skaters.

Bernal

Wouldn’t it be funny if Nutnfancy was kidnapped by bad guys. They’d pull his gun and knife out and lay it on the table and start cracking bad guy jokes while Nutnfancy sits, tied to a chair, trying to contain his laughter! Hahaha

Daniel Defoe

Man, I hear ya on .40! I was building out a rig and was going to put in a XDm 40 (already have one in another rig so lotsa mags ready to go). Went to go buy one and there ain't none! They went to 10mm? What for? .40 wasn't snappy enough for a full-size carry? Are folks out there bear hunting with XDms?

Steve Ouellette

I have Carl Gustoff projects but no Carl Gustoff

The Nutnfancy Project

Schmuck rants and wins again! It truly is infuriating. Safety warnings printed on a gun reduces its attraction to me by two points>> a 5 Star becomes a 3 Star. I will rail on this anytime I see it.

The Nutnfancy Project

Very funny and spot on observation. Can I use that in reviews, you're attributed!

The Nutnfancy Project

Taurus GX4 in inventory undergoing testing. It's a P365 of a different flavor but close copy it seems.

The Nutnfancy Project

Oooo Andrettski properly invokes the PROTIFA reference and scores big! Well done bro.

Bernal

I’m not even going to try and keep up. But I got a Squirt, Micro and a Para 3 lightweight and my trusty Fenix PD36r, yeah it’s heavy, but I’m in the car all day and night.

Adam Boyd

I just got the 365 XL based on our DM conversation. Still training with the Romeo Zero. (My first red dot). Craft holsters is making a custom horizontal shoulder rig that will work with the optic and two 15 round spare mags. Sick!

Schmuckatelli

By the way...classic thumb nail for the video! LOL

STLParkRanger13 (IG: Sharpshooterjon)

Ain't that the truth. If you want to find out PRECISELY what "average human intelligence" is, try directing traffic for an hour or two. You will come away with a new appreciation for how stupid "average" is.

Duane R. Anderson

I have a 365xl with the red dot. Game changer and force multiplayer. I can shoot and get great groups at 20+yards. I'm thinking of replacing slides on my full sized options so I can get red dots on them.

Matt P

The warnings stamped on it are for the people who keep electing the likes of Gavin newscum , bail reform (non) prosecutors etc. Ill give ruger a pass because Im sure they do it to sell the gun in some of those markets ca/mass etc. but yeah I hear ya.

Jordan Parker

The P365 is magical. It amazes me how much better I can shoot it at 7 to 10 yards than my Glock 43. The extra capacity is just a bonus, I feel so much more confident with the Sig.

Deep Sigh

@nutnfancy, A little surprised you didn’t mention the Hellcat as one of the better options given your glowing review. I actually preferred it to the p365 because it fit my hand better (the p365 tended to pinch my pinky a little between the frame and the mag). In any case, great trigger on the Hellcat and 11+1 capacity,100% reliability…what’s not to like?

Lon N

I'm always in for a GRV "TNP Style" - with honesty. Truth dart scores again with a shocking "I prefer to shoot the LC9s." Keep the truth rolling Nutn.

Charles Steimle

I sold my lc9 to upgrade to max 9. I part with nutn on this one. I definitely prefer the max 9 for shoot ability.

Jeremy doblinger

I have eyes on this or the new mossberg for wifes next carry pistol.

Hugh Amlett

The LCP Max has me more intrigued than this thing

Racing Psychosis

Yea....hard pass for me. Still primary goto for me is the Hellcat. I bring out a G43 once and a while still. This Ruger if its sticks around may in a year or two have some non-custom holsters for it. That captive front sight is nice looking though. Nope....definitely not on my shopping or intrigued list.

Jeremy doblinger

I'm in the market for a new carry pistol for my sexy wife and I'll admit the "shiny" new thing grabs my eye.. I carry a 365 myself.. There all pretty good.. I want her to check out a lcp 2 also.. alot of choices now a days in that ccw area...I've got a boner atm for glock.. currently don't own any glocks. I've got m&p's in my systems..

David and Elizabeth

We're with you 100% on the idiotic safety messages that insult your intelligence every time you pick the gun up. ❤❤

RowdyRon

The rpg rant was gold. I have to find a replica now. I have a Kusiak holster for my Airweight, and it's the best. Thanks Nutn.

Nathan Simms aka Darkpriest

I think I'm gonna do a 365 with the romeo.. its only 599 + tax and ffl which is not a bad price these days. I have carried the Walther PPS M2 for a few years and frankly besides the trigger I am not that enamored with it

Clint Raby

I picked up a Shield Plus several months back and I love this gun. Looking forward to the gear review video.

Trevor K

I have no comment. its another pocket 9. its like compact cars. they work but are you really excited? i'm glad for the review but just the gun is really 'hey the pocket gun market is hot right now lots make a pocket gun thats is 95% the same as all the others'

Trustful Marksman

Competitive option you should have mentioned is security 9 compact. Tad bigger and heavier but you get a Pic rail, 15 round extended mags, and sub $400 price tag! The rear sight looks like it has a square u notch you could paint, which I way prefer over three dot. I actually hate three dots. My eye is always drawn away by the rear dots and I loose focus on the front sight. I much prefer square u or post.

Trustful Marksman

Yet another example of executives folding to the demands of their lawyers. They need to show some backbone

Trustful Marksman

Thanks to tnp I now carry 3 knives, two flashlights, a mirror, ear pro, and other such siliness

Carl Bailey

I was pretty lukewarm on this one. The lcp max interests me a lot more.

Bluegill097

I've heard a lot of good things about the Max in 380

David Elkins

Another great review Nutn. Said it before and I’ll say it again. This is a golden era for firearms offerings and competitive choices. There is no gun to rule them all. Some are better for some while other guns are better for others. I carry Glock 45 and 43x(with shield arms 15rd mags). They work best for me with my background and experience. But I don’t poopop other options and there are many. It all comes down to personal preferences currently. Which makes your reviews all the more valuable.

Chad

What is your recommendation for a carry 9, hammer fired DA/SA? Not many options, I’m leaning CZ P-07 or Beretta LTT PX4 Compact Cary…

Nathan P Hubsch

I shot the P365 and didn't like it, don't like the trigger or the grip. Couldn't shoot it well either. Still carrying the Canik and Steyr L9.

Rogue Weasely

If I am being honest I bought my p365 purely off of the fact I LOVE the way it looks and felt in my hand...I waited till the issues were ironed out and bought one as soon as the complaints went down... And I have never turned back. I shot it just as well as my glock 19...Which I sold soon afterwards... If I ever feel like I need more gun, I just put the 15 round mags in!

Brandon conley

I still haven’t shot a 365. Sounds like I probably should…

Hold Fast Joe

Great review! Wondering how the latest gx4 Taurus will run in this category given it's ultra low price! I've seen them for under $300! Crazy

hoplite ⚔️

As a Canadian I can’t carry and honestly I’m fairly new to shooting but I can relay a couple data points on my P07. It’s been 100% reliable with any ammo I feed it. It’s very accurate and can produce one hole groups even for someone still working on marksmen fundamentals.

Nathan P Hubsch

Got mine with me tonight. Put a grip plug in it and a steel guide rod.

Harley

Every Ruger pistol I’ve owned was prone to rust easily.

Racing Psychosis

Ever had a blued Redhawk or Blackhawk. I've had some 30+ years. Their semi-auto handguns different story and they kind of suck.

Pedro

Ruger to me has always been a me too company. They see a working format and just borrow it with enough changes to not get sued.

Chad

Thanks for the input hoplite. Keep up the good fight for your God given rights up North.

Connor Murphy

Just got my TNP Endura in the mail. I love it! The Trilogy Is Complete! #81

Phillip Robinette McKracken

I'm just saying, if I keep a WW2 Japanese soldier in my office, it's nobody's business but mine.

I bought the LCP MAX this week. I didn’t like the trigger on the LC9. I also didn’t want to onboard the .380acp but here we are. I wanted a pocket pistol. Hopefully I didn’t make a mistake by not getting the G43 instead.

Scott Nelson

Thanks for the truthful review like always. Also I just grabbed the Gallo Classic Light and I honestly thought I wouldn’t care for a shoulder rig but grabbed it for a 14 hour drive that I’m taking in April - needless to say I love it. It fits my Glock 19 and 26 perfectly. Keep speaking the truth and stay safe

Mason Gotto

I literally walked into a gun store today, overheard a salesman talking to a customer and asked him what he wanted and the guy says I want a Glock 43x. I literally left because I had just watched this video today.

Gilberto Esquivel

Along with a Red Dot your zoomer tnp'er was 'runnin' 'rainbow unicorn chones'...How can you give that an A plus pass Nutn?

BIGBOSSO

When we gana get some micro 45 love? Also you ever think about reveiwing the glock 36??

Greg Malcom

I bought a 380 Max. Shot it recently... I agree that 380 isn't ideal for self defense. However, if you want a mouse gun for ultralight carry (hot summer days), this gun is a good choice. I have the Shield Plus and love it! These two guns are apples and oranges. The Shield Plus is not an ultralight gun, especially with the 13 round magazine.

CincinnatiDan (Ohio)

I am one of those “new” shooters who likes a manual safety. I’ve owned a couple of berettas for 30 years and i am used to it. Always preferred a hammer over striker. Last year, i bought a P365-MS and began to carry regularly. Just a few days ago, as i drove around with the barrel of the P365 poking into my femoral artery, I couldn’t help but still feel uneasy about it. I really want a sub-compact da/sa with safety. I also own a 85FS but man is that painful to shoot and i can barely rack the slide. :-(
