An expedited by-request GRV from donors. I buy a Palmetto State Armory "Dagger" pistol and give it a run through (with Mrs Nutnfancy!). Also a second one is in attendance loaned from a TNPr! So with this two sample foundation and with lots of shooting I quickly form an opinion on the PSA Dagger. You might surprised at who's buying it too!

Nutn, is this video banned on YouTube? Sad day. Can’t see it on Rumble or anything either.

Jun Cho

For people who want a G19 type pistol but NOT a G19. 😑

David

Been waiting for this one I’m excited to watch!

John K Stankiewicz

Glad to see this. I'd be in the market for one if I didn't already have the glocks themselves haha

The Nutnfancy Project

Great to hear from you Cody. I like how PSA offers all the parts for the builds on their guns. They understand the firearms community and give them what they want (kinda' the opposite of Glock!)

Tim Jarvis

Glad you did this review, I got two of them early on and they are fantastic. Throw in an extended tear drop mag release and I call it better than gen 4. Just know they don't fit all holsters even without suppressor sights.

Brian D Hopkins

I got one of the first ones out. I have thousands of round through it and it's my favorite. Over MUCH more expensive guns.

Covid positive this morning. Tired AF. Looking forward to getting into bed and watching this. Scored a Mondaine Essence White 41mm white case watch for $78 CAD, 70% off. Have wanted one of those since Nutn did the Swiss railway review. Gonna be a fun piece. Love the white case.

HappyFrancisMacomber

Man perfect timing l… they have these on Easter sale, I’m likely gonna pull the trigger after watching this review

Jordan Parker

So many good options for a pistol in this size and weight range, but the price point makes the Dagger very interesting. I've had good experiences with PSA AKs and ARs, so I wouldn't hesitate to try one out.

Blizzak454

Awesome. Recently Bear Independent did their test and it was a total failure. So its super interesting to see your results. They seem affordable enough to keep one in every car.

Purchased mine prior to suppressor sight model released. No pin walk at all ! Mine is sniper green and finish is holding up. New shooters are enjoying this model more than G17. No problems with glock 30, 17 or factory 15 round mags. Excellent gun even if priced higher. Thank you for this enjoyable review. I'm a double owl since 2008. Tom

I was curious about the Dagger since PSA announced the project, then I won a G17 in a raffle for a worthwhile local youth hockey league. Not really in the market for another pistol anymore but I do like the value oriented GRV’s, keep up the excellence Nutn! PS Your older Glock vids where instrumental in my G17 upgrades. Perfection out of the box a Glock is not. I cringe every time I see that marketing slogan.

Mark Horan

I got the same Dagger as Nutnfancy, but in desert plat earth. I have a Gen 3 Glock 17, but have never held a Glock 19. I'm impressed with the Dagger. I was going to buy a Taran tactical trigger, but agree that the trigger is not too bad. I have a 9mm suppressor on order and this was probable the best value of a pistol to buy that is suppressor ready. I live in Washington State and with the laws here it made more sense to have the frame sent to my FFL and the slide sent to my house. Thanks for review. It looks like I am one of those people that wanted you to review this to confirm my purchase choice.

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

Glad to see the review. I bought the standard one in green a few months back. I decided not to wait because I remember how much their AKV has risen in price since it's introduction. I put a few hundred rounds through it and put it up, it's basically a spare for me. You're right on the market audience. I carry an M&P and my wife carries a Glock so this is just an extra.

Casey Jones

Great review, good looking gun but I’ve sort of hitched my wagon to the Gen5 glocks. Nothing against the gen3, I don’t want to have to buy another set of mags. You had the ADD going on this review. We went everywhere and back again, lol. Prolly what a TNP review would sound like if I did it. Keep’em coming Nutn.

Downtrodden

I carry a P365 because it’s more comfortable (to me) than a compact (“it ain’t”). I can see how this model is the most versatile size for anyone who wants one to do-it-all. PSA will sell as many as they can make. I just hope they come out with a G17 sized clone.

Metal-Militia

Thanks for the awesome service Nutnfancy and crew

EthanRX

Thanks Nutn. You nailed it, I already own a G19 but will be picking up one of these. Thanks!!!!

Bear Independent

I really wanted to like the Dagger, but with a sample size of 2, I had a horrendous experience. TL:DR it doesn’t hold onto mags… here’s the vid. PSA Dagger - HARD PASS - Honest Review https://youtu.be/roXel5fnVGU

Matt W Plank

I am done copulating my systems.😂That is actually not true, as I bought one of the Shadow Systems DR920’s, despite the fact I own 12 Glocks. Maybe on to something there, Nutn. Don’t need it, but nice review and option.

Cory Risseeuw

Holly shit I said you could have mine lol.

Stefan Diamandis

I own four g19's, two 17's and one 21. but still think I have room for 1 more.

Racing Psychosis

I have a half dozen of those P-mag glock magazines, everyone of them is junk. No good except for practicing failure drills. ETS & P80 mags are fine, KCI not bad, but the P-Mags I use at the range for failure drills, because they will fail on me. I like Gen 3's, but I decided to pass on Dagger after seeing some of the reviews of the early ones. The backup to my Gen 3 g19 is a Polymer 80 with all of the same parts. Bear's review may have been one of those on the Dagger.

Eric Lindsay

I have the basic Dagger with night sights. It’s a great gun and have it stashed as a truck gun. Really great gun and love the compatibility with Glock parts. I found that it doesn’t fit in any of my Glock holsters but, does fit all my Polymer 80 holsters. Have you seen that PSA rock handgun chambered in 5.7? Waiting on them to release a red dot version before getting one.

Racing Psychosis

That failure to feed you had on Mark's looks just like one of the variations on how the P-mags fail in my Gen 3 and 5's.

Robert Avery

Good stuff as always Nutn. Do you have any desire to review a honey badger by any chance? I would think the weight alone would excite you.

Stan White

I have 3 glocks definitely want more. Have other pistols but want more glocks to integrate into systems. That green slide is awsome now I need one.

Galen C Cook

Totally agree. I heard a guy in the gun store saying the same thing as well the other day. Other guns are fun, I may even like them more… CZ-75, 1911, Sig P226, Beretta 92…. But at the end of the day the glocks get integrated into systems. Training consistency, SAWC, and magazine compatibility.

Brad Fegan

Will admit I like the enlarged trigger guard and that it takes glock mags.

Cory Risseeuw

As good as a Glock? Ha your out of your mind. You got a good one but there are lots of issues with a bunch of them. It is just not refined at this point. The best thing about it is the price. Good for something you don't care if it gets destroyed.

Don Stricklin

They are coming out with a 5.7 caliber, I have the dagger feels better than G19.

maxmfs

For folks who have one of these, would you trust your life with it like you would a Glock? I am leery of economizing on gear that I consider personal protection/health/safety items (e.g., running shoes, climbing gear, sidearms, etc.). Maybe I’m just a snob who has fallen for the marketing, but based on training and experience, I’d take any of my Glocks into a situation where I might possibly have to use them. But, I’m not sure about one of these, or other non-evaluated/adopted/approved pistols (and yes, I’m aware of the politics and financial incentives involved in those organizational/departmental decisions).

Eric

Those sold out fast.

David Elkins

I’ve been looking at the Dagger and the War Poet. Former is more budget the latter is more modded. I just hesitate to buy anything I can’t put in hand first. Being clones that’s probably silly on my end but I’m not above being silly.

David Spinks

Great review as always Nutn. I purchased a dagger slide a while back, rmr cut with the super high amerglo night sights with orange dot on the front. I'm using on G19 gen 3 frames. It will not fire reliably with any can when using the psa all metal guide rod and spring. I switched to a factory glock recoil spring and it works 100% with a can. Curious for a update on yours (suppressed) when you get back home to your cans. I also noticed the sights are off, it prints either high or low (consistently), I can't remember which. Accommodates a factory glock barrel as well as the Sico barrel just fine, but the psa guide rod/recoil spring went in the trash. 👎 I also did mount a holosun 507, and no problems whatsoever with that. An RDS on a pistol really gives you the ultimate in being able to have an unobstructed sight picture while shooting suppressed.

Chris carr

Check out the Susitna chest holsters by quick lock holsters same price range better quality. Ran and owned by a airforce vet here in my town.

With the inflation on goods and the devaluation of the dollar, we will all be millionaires soon. lol jk

Andrew H

Love the GRVs. Thanks Nutn. Looking forward to a review on the WWSD AR-15.

HappyFrancisMacomber

Annnnnd I bought it. FDE slide with cutouts and threaded barrel. It’s already out of stock. Vortex RMR on the way to top it off. I also have that same full lume deep blue watch, it’s amazing in summer on white rubber strap! Keep the great content coming Nutn.

Tim Jarvis

It's in my carry rotation. Close to 3000 rounds with zero failures. Personally I won't carry a pistol unless it's been flawless for 500 rounds.

Donovan T Cooper

Bought a dagger lower and did a build. Brownells windowed slide . Threaded agency arms barrel. Trijicon suppressor height night sights. Apex trigger. (Not a fan of the hinged PSA trigger) . Gun runs like a top.

Zac

Sold out fast, was just telling someone about it after watching your review. Dang.

The Nutnfancy Project

" I switched to a factory glock recoil spring and it works 100% with a can. " Crazy it works like that. That's the thing with builds, no one can back you up with a warranty. I will test it with a can see how it does; I anticipate good things with these. Did you mount a red dot on it (if you got that version?).

Andrew H

I'd like it in a full size

Plumber Angelo

Awesome review Nutn. Love the GRV’s!

Ruben Lopez

I think Mark's sights were made by Lego! 🤣🤣 Sorry Mark. They are just very blocky.

Jude Torres

PSA’s prices are pretty nuts sometimes, I didn’t buy the complete dagger but I got the slide on sale for $120 to complete a P80 build. Any one who has done a build can confirm, a set of good suppressor height sights=$45 minimum, slide completion kit=$65ish, RMR cut slide=minimum probably=$150 minimum, so the fact that it has sights, and complete internals less barrel and recoil spring. Makes the RMR cut slide $10.00 that’s nuts. Bonus is that it performed flawlessly on the build.

Gilberto Esquivel

PSA is serious about a rifle and now a glock in every Americans hands...

TNSheep

Just waiting on nutn to bust out the P322. I wanna see if he can bust this dude in the desert. I got thousands of rounds through mine so far, and the only failures i've had are ammo failures.

Racing Psychosis

They are almost always soldout. You have to crack their code at when they put them up on their site, normally around 3-4 PM eastern time.

Thomas M Morse

Just curious, any issues with dropping loaded mags during firing? Bear Underground did a review with two Daggers where it kept dropping the Magpul mags during firing. Just asking.

Racing Psychosis

I don't know, but I've had repeated issues with Magpul Glock mags, they're JUNK imo.

T Willys

Great review...Thanks!

Osvaldo Rodriguez

I think I’ll get that slide for mine with a doctor cut. I’m not a trigger snob and not that good to notice anyway. What you’re getting for the price on these is sick. I hope you do the PSA 57 when available, would love that too but the ammo is still too expensive.

Mace

Nail on head- long time glock and g19 owner. This will be my first clone to go with my G23, G19, and G26. For another system.

Jeremy doblinger

I'm gonna pick one of these up, just On price point and name alone.. plus warranty and USA made.. with your blessing it's a yes from me. My son is now 16 and this may be his 1st center fire pistol.

Bluegill097

heck yeah! Thanks for the honorable mention. I picked up a Deep Blue Alpha Marine in blue/orange FINALLY when they went on-sale for Daylight Savings. Great TNP recommend per usual!

Jason Burson

Mail on head. Own a Glock and want more stand alone systems

Aaron

G17 owner and now (per your review) a PSA Dagger owner. The option to buy in various configurations including just the complete frame worked out well for me. Lots of options. Take advantage of those daily deals! PSA has got some good stuff. Thanks for the review, that was the deal maker for me. Can’t wait to attached the Venom when it arrives. Really like to co-witness sights too. Keep up the great work!
