A naughty black rifle review for my stalwart good dudes in TNP.  This is a brand I hadn't heard of at all. But got it on loan from Gunnies Western Wear (below) and took it out in the Wolverine for some desert work. It is very affordable so I wasn't expecting a lot. I was wrong.

Own this exact rifle, haven't even got it out of the box yet, lol too many irons in the fire, have to get it out and play.

Robert Avery

Always down to learn about guns I'm not familiar with

Cyborg009

Text says Gunnies is the source but video says Handgun Haven.

Ryan Jones

Nice to see that they are ok. Seen them around but is one brand I never saw much info on.

Brian Carter

Literally JUST bought one of these this week and it’s currently being shipped to my FFL! Hah! Can’t wait to see the review!

hoplite ⚔️

Anybody want to sell a TNP Daggerr Sting? Holla

BRIAN J ANDERSON

KT SU-16 makes an appearance! " in the house!" I mean bunker

Rob Miller

Cool video. Like the 25 min length. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for one on the used racks. Thank You!!!!

Todd Strelka

I love the black rifle reviews.

Brian Carter

Oh. And I got it cause these often go on sale for UNDER $500! Mine is gonna be under $600 after tax, shipping, FFL transfer fee, etc!

Brad Morin

I bought one of their 300blk uppers years ago and I've been more than satisfied with its quality and suburb combat accuracy.

CincinnatiDan (Ohio)

My nephew bought a Radical RF15 for his 19th birthday in 2020; it was all the store had. We’ve put about 500 rounds of steel and brass without any issues. With a Sig red dot on it we don’t expect sub MOA and never measured it... the gun is likely more accurate than him or me. For $650 + the red dot, it’s fun to shoot.

Bill The Broken

Great to see another naughty rifle review, been hoping for one :). So I had a 6 5 grendel radical upper that shot so well I took the barrel and bolt and turned it into a high end precision build. Sub moa out to 700y w factory hornady black (as far as I have to shoot it). Could have used any company's barrel but it was the most accurate ar barrel I had ever had so used it and its now my favorite build. Radical is also known for their integrally suppressed ars. I live in commie NY so if you can get your hands on one of those it would make for super fun testing and review:). Cheers!

Deon Lee

I think radical does make their own barrels. They sell barrels anyways. Man I want one of those keltec su16’s

Matthew Hargis

Thanks Nutn for the video. My first AR was a Radical RF-15. I love them and haven’t had any problems though I haven’t shot high round counts through them. Back in ‘14 there were reports of cam pins breaking after 4k rds. Also, there old hand guards have poorer finishes than other manufacturers, but they have to cut costs somewhere to keep prices around the $500 mark. I replaced my cam pin as preventative maintenance. Again mine have been good to me. If someone is on a budget I would recommend a Radical or a PSA AR. Thanks again. -Sharkey

James Mabe

Hey nutn any word from keltec on more su16c coming up for sale?

James Young

Yeah, Damage Industries has good stuff. I use their single QD slot end plates on all my builds, simple and light.

James Young

Yeah, just about a month ago they had one at Primary Arms for $399 with the good rail but basic A2 grip and basic stock. Great budget option

James Young

Radical Firearms has been around a while. They are based in Stafford, TX (no property tax city) right beside Houston. They have a negative reputation from their early guns and their customer service was bad. Dont think any of that is still the case. Primary Arms is based in Houston and often carries their guns and parts. Not too long ago they had one for $399 with the good rail and basic stock and grip. Seems like excellent choice for a budget AR15

Tygre

Have this same rifle and love it. Hard to beat for the sale price. Totally agree you are getting more than you pay for on these.

Brad Fegan

I love when value AR's come out that get a thumbs up. Makes me happy 😊. That handguard looks really light weight lots of air through it.

A

@Nutn You should review more snubbies and high end 1911 from H.H.! BTW- Doodle needs a good spanking on dad's knee.

A

Spolier: He is probably not in a bunker, instead he is in the back of a van.He needs to do these at the Gunnies Ranch.

A

Nutn always appreciates comments on length and your experiences with racks.

RB

Makes me happy as I just ran across an upper assy from radical that fills a niche for me.

Compare compare compare, wieght, price, quality, value, “i like, i need it , i want some more of it”

Ive kind of come full circle over the 15 years i been messing with ARs. I find myself gravitating away from free floated rails nowadays. It used to be a requirement for me. I still have quite a few builds that have them like my 18inch SPR build and a few 16inch builds but I do love the simplicity and durability of the pinned of traditional front sight base. I know low pro gas blocks if installed correctly can be durable. I usually will drill 2 dimples into the the barrel if they don't have them already for the set screws to seat into so the gas block cannot rotate. I have seen improperly installed lo pro gas blocks shift and cause the gun to be a single shot. For a lightweight, simple, durable rifle I like a 14.5 midlength non free float with a standard front sight. DD fixed rear sight and a red dot 1/3 co witness. White light on the handguard. Not much to go wrong and still very lightweight. I also enjoy the same setup running a 3x prism scope by PA or Trijicon with a folding rear sight so I can get good eye relief. I can still print 1-2 moa groups using a non free floated rifles. Which for 55 gainers which I usually run in everything except the 18inch gun is fine out to 250 yards. In my opinion 5.56 sucks past 300 anyway. If I'm going past that I'm just gonna up gun to 77gr out of SPR or 308.

Lee Harrell [W5GCF]

I have a Radical 6.5 Grendel upper. It is a tack driver. For the price, these guns are a steal. Typically, the elites look down their nose at Radical.

Lee Harrell [W5GCF]

By the way, B5 Systems is super high quality furniture - I've started using their stocks and grips on all builds. It's also expensive. I'm surprised to find it on a budget rifle. That's truly amazing.

Nathan Simms aka Darkpriest

6.5 Grendel is a caliber I wish Nutn would pay attention to. It is much more effective than .224 Valk and a harder hitter at range.

Buck Padooka Intel

Although I concur with your assessment on DI rifles, the entire Marine Corps is using a piston system.

RowdyRon

Hey Nutn, I finally have a gear item request. Please, at your convenience check out the Cold Steel SR1 folding knife (beast). Thank you! For black rifles I'm interested in an AK format that shoots 5.56. There's another platform for review. Thanks Nutn!

Hold Fast Joe

6.5 grendel is a great round, I like what I've seen at the range

Hold Fast Joe

Thanks! I enjoyed the review, good to hear about more manufacturers

Josiah Fisher

The first AR pistol I built was a 300 blackout 8-in radical upper with Anderson lower PSA parts kit

2026-09-15 18:00 Holy shit those sights on the Dagger stick up like 3/4 of an inch lol. Nutn should do a garmin tactics wrist computer review imo

Hold Fast Joe

They are high because the barrel is threaded to accept suppressor. You can get a dagger with standard sights

duroSIG556R

keep the ar rifle reviews coming. thanks.

Casey Jones

I often think about product requests for review and I can never think of one until Nutn reviews it. This rifle was one of them. I’ve known about radical arms for 3-4 years but never thought to request. Same thing happened with the LE lantern. I already had 2 and didn’t think to ask. My brother in law has one of these Radical ARs, good to know it’s decent for the money. And yes, we want more black rifle reviews.

mike stevens

Referenced one of your older WRVs and picked up a Citizen Eco Drive field watch. My Timex indeglo quit after 20 years. Your link still worked!

TechNeck

My first gun was a swiss arms clasic green... aka the sig 550 with the original swiss mags. I loved it, but it is very heavy for a 5.56 rifle. I sold it to buy a military surplus iltis. I run a T97 gen3 these days for 5.56, norinco plinko. For a $1000 chinese gun it performs.

Ruben Lopez

My first AR but you always say we ask you to review something we already have. The best bang for your buck I believe. Very accurate and reliable!

Ruben Lopez

Their customer service is awesome as well!

Downtrodden

Great timing on this review. I’m seeing these in AZ and need to do some shopping soon. Two is one and one is none, right?

Clint Raby

I have a Radical Firearms AR that I picked up back in 2017, I have been very pleased with it. Wish mine had the same handguard as the one in the review. Always wondered what Nutn would think of it.

“Milk Man” Matt Moore

Hey it’s new member Matt. So AKs are my first love and I currently own 5 of them…all 7.62x39. Nutn I watched your video way back in the days and one of those weird ones that chose the AK as my system. Anyways…got my first AR last year which was an under 100 round count Springfield Saint. I do like the AR platform! It’s so light! And it shoots so flat! I need another one and I want to go a really lightweight but rugged as hell carbine in 556. I don’t shoot suppressed or NFA items like SBRs. $1500 give or take budget. Any suggestions?

Lee

Look up Focustripp I just recently bought one of his uppers for 400. Then I got an Aero Lower and pieced it together for under 300. Love it just waiting on an optic and mount. I to have a couple AKs that I started with and 2 year ago bought my first AR which was a PSA.

Andrettski

A friend who wanted to get his 1st AR asked me about a budget priced entry level gun and I found the Radical 15" w/MFT stock for $449, he loves it. I recently got their 18" .223 Wylde upper w/SS barrel for $199, I have to add my own BCG and charging handle, but "come on man", what a deal.

Andrettski

Strongly recommend the line of drop in Rise Armament triggers, picked up 2 of them for $89 ea on a 'Black Friday' deal. I've let people shoot a couple of my AR's side by side,(unknown to them) one with a Geissle and Rise in the other and over and over they pick the Rise Armament trigger.

AK Rage

Still want black rifle reviews. Some brands don’t stand the test of time. So when friends or new acquaintances come along, I can refer them to options that are relevant and on the market

Chris M

I just ordered 2 of these. I just moved to the free state of TN from CA on july 3rd. I'm not about to let Pelosi screw me once again now that im in TN.

Chuck Cribbs

Just bought a PSA blemished 16” AR for $499, listed for $818. It’s almost identical to this rifle. And I can’t even tell where the blemish is.
