I'll start off with a rant against Sig and what they apparently think of Nutnfancy and how I ran my Sig Cross review.  It shows how childish this industry remains. It's enlightening. But life goes on and I run the Channel as an adult, unbiased. And you guys still demand gun reviews so I keep doing them. Prepare for more truth.

It would seem the Sig P322 with its 20 rd magazine is now broadly touted as the "best .22 pistol made," this by all the paid off GunTubers and bloggers. Hmmm. We'll even though I'm less enamored with Sig as a company than I used to be, if this P322 is awesome I will gladly tell you so.

Lots of infield testing takes place with different loads shot. Hilarity ensues: Wyatt's rant infield, set in the video, makes me laugh so hard I cry. Really funny. And the humor comes from yet again an over hyped gun that fails to perform. It's so predictable as this point it is hilarious.

So I'll go through all the points of the P322; the design is mostly excellent but it has a flaw. No doubt it will be corrected. But here again Sig has done a half assed job when issuing a product and the customer will have to establish work arounds. A much better competitive option is shown and one I bought myself.

Half Baked? Nutnfancy on Sig P322

That's unfortunate about the Sig board room comments. But glad you're taking the high road and delivering valuable honest reviews on their products despite any feelings you may have about their staff.

David Gaines

I’ve been waiting on this review!

TNSheep

42 minutes. Jesus. Well, it is nutn. I've got so many rounds through the p322. This gun is simply fantastic. Excited to listen to this.

Rob Miller

Not surprised. The older I get, the more I am convinced that the root of all evil is the love of money. Many many industries put out low quality to outright dangerous products while their employees remain silent for the love of money. We need more good citizens to speak up and put the love of our brothers and sisters on earth above worldly gains with no value.

Hold Fast Joe

Regarding the opening discussing the sig rifle, they deserved a negative review allowing a bad trigger out of the quality testing. That's a pretty big screw up. Far as the pistol, looks like it ran great at times, terrible others. Maybe very ammo sensitive for that particular copy you had for testing. I would probably go with another brand though doesn't charge $50 for their mags. I used to be in love with the sig stuff but I lost that after owning a 226. I'm much more accurate with a glock19 than a 226.

Aaron Walker

Sig wouldn't admit any guilt due to liability risk. This is definitely how most companies would respond these days. I bet they are quite "gun shy" after all the debacles they have dealt with over the last....10yrs??? And are trying to control damage on the cross.

TNSheep

I was wondering if nutn was going to run into the magazine issue or not. The one big thing on this pistol is you have to load the mags right or it does what he showed. If you just pull the lever down and start dumping them in, they will fail every time. It's a bit annoying they have to stack perfectly for operating, but its double stacked rimfire, they dont stack like centerfire. I've got over 2000 rounds though p322 and never had a feed issue. The only main issues I had with the p322 were bad ammo. Strong primer hits, but no bang. Nuttin goes into it at least in the video. I think this goes into the tweaks that could be better in the gun, cause... what happens in a lab is not what happens in the real world. I've noticed a few people have reported issues, but many other people having none like me. And I'm not even cleaning mine and shooting suppressed. I did notice one other thing from the other video's I saw with guys having issues. The magazines they show look different than the ones I have. And nutns look different than the ones I have as well. I can bump you over a text of the ones I got, but... you like never check your phone. hahaha.

Matthew Sinn

I was so looking forward to the music you used at the start of the Ruger Gunsite Scout review lol

Matt W Plank

Nutn’ the imagery of flush fitting…troubling, revealing? No, funny as HELL!😆👍 Great review, as usual. All I can say is I got the FN 502…glad I did!

Sounds like some Glock insiders have moved on to Sig

I'm going to repost the comment I left on YouTube for this vid: The issue you had with reliability might have to do with the way you were loading rounds into the mag. When watching, I noticed you kept pulling down the mag follower when loading the mags. You probably should not do this with these types of mags. Same thing with the TX22. You need to load the mags like you would a regular 9mm mag. DO NOT PULL DOWN THE FOLLOWER WHEN LOADING. When you load 22 rounds into the mag, the lip at the base of the 22 brass needs to be in front of the lip of the round below it. This is likely why you had similar issues with the TX22. When you pull the follower down and drop the rounds in, you probably had some rounds where the lip of the 22 brass went behind the lip of the round below it. If this happens, then it will be more difficult for the gun to chamber since it will need to push the lip up and over the lip of the round below it when it is trying to push the round out of the mag. Sig needs to specify this in their manual.

David Elkins

You tampered with the 322 mags😂😂🤣

Lee Harrell [W5GCF]

It's kind of sad that I'm not surprised. Sig is one of my favorite manufacturers, but they are all about premature ejaculation. FN for the win!

Downtrodden

Sig seems to have a reputation in recent history of putting out innovative products without proper testing. 365 and 320 both had “teething” issues but running smoothly now. Their mag prices/availability are currently killing my Sig enthusiasm.

Phillip Robinette McKracken

The other grandmas at my magazine loading and knitting circle just fell asleep. Help! At least their butter muffins are ready to come out of the oven. Hope they aren't Sig Sour. This never happens with a Ruger MK2. I'm waiting for the phone calls to start. "Your SIG warranty has expired. Don't go another day without protection, on your protection." Sad part is that I hope none of these problems transfer to my M17.

Scott Kirkwood

sounds like since they recalled, your source is prolly wrong.

Todd Strelka

Wow, what a review! 👏 My M&P22 may have only had one stoppage over the years. That reliability of the Sig P322 was dismal. Thanks for the rant. We love it.

IndianaBen

Another instant classic review. You’re actually being unnecessarily kind to Sig though. Among other things, I think you forgot to mention how you stood behind the 365 when the rest of the Internet was on fire over the firing pin thing. (Also, I just really don’t like their stuff, so admittedly I enjoy seeing them called out for the garbage they do)

Seeker Keyl

I sooo want the 502. Since I have 509s, the 502 is just a no-brainer. Can't find one for a reasonable price, though. Still on the lookout!

Racing Psychosis

Not a Sig fan, never been a Sig fan, there are other good guns out there. They remind me of some of auto-makers out there that introduce new product that were never tested properly and then allow the public to find all of the problems.

Josh Winkler

SIG can say whatever they want but they are the ones charging $1800-$2000+ for rifles and PCCs that need gens 1-3 to fix serious issues that keep coming up that at that price should have never come up in the first place. I love my P365 but dang bruh.

CincinnatiDan (Ohio)

Congratulations Nutn’. What high praise it is for little ol’ Nuntfancy to be mentioned in the halls of a mighty international firearms manufacturer..

CincinnatiDan (Ohio)

My Beretta 87 Cheetah releases the slide on its own when a magazine is inserted as well... it is annoying and feels dangerous.

Hugh Amlett

To my understanding his source is alleging this happened just after the review. It took them some time to recall, and Nutn's review was the catalyst

Hugh Amlett

If anything you have been too easy on Sig. They are not focused on the civilian market, and it is still hard for me to accept how they handled the P320 drop safe issue. But they do make some innovative products.

BRIAN J ANDERSON

Sig Mosquito 2.0 - The first .22 pistol I bought was a Sig Mosquito. a real disappointment! Recently my local gun dealer told me he had no interest in buying it because it is so unreliable compared to what is available today. Your experience with the P322 reminds me of my Mosquito LAME I Would rather have a pistol with a 10 round magazine that works than a 20 round magazine that doesn't

Trustful Marksman

I bought the fn502 and have no regrets. What about a review of the new Walther wmp? I'm always attracted to the idea of a 22mag pistol.

Kenny Bridges

Don’t forget about the Taurus tx-22. Gun feels like a toy it’s so light but shit man, I’ve shot the piss outta mine with multiple ammo types, usually cheap ass Winchester white box and that thing has run flawless for me. 16+1 rounds and a damn good trigger.

Hold Fast Joe

He mentions proper loading of the mag at about 34 minutes. Pulling the follower looked like trouble shooting not loading unless I missed it? I'm sure after 50 years experience he is loading the rim cartridge correctly, but this comment does make sense. Sounds like something I would screw up

Casey Jones

It’s interesting that Sig, a giant in the gun world, would be that concerned about what Nutn has to say. As a Mechanical Engineer, whose’s daily responsibilities include investigating product failures for my company, I would welcome such feedback. I’d most likely want to email Nutn and say “hey, can you tell me more about the problem you’re having with the gun, what’s it’s serial number, etc.” My #1 concern would be to track down if the problem the customer was having was simply an oversight in QC or if it was a systemic problem. Being sued is more expensive than some extra engineering hours to track down an issue. I think was a fair review, mag issues are one of the worst spoilers of a gun. Guys just expect their guns to work on demand, which is reasonable in the 2020s.

The Hide

For me I reviewed both the Kel-Tec P17 and the TX22 from Taurus and was very impressed with both. I think a lot of these companies are just mad they cant keep up with the price points that these other companies can come in at and still have a quality product. So they look to the very few content creators that will call them out on their shortcomings. Great review Nutn!

Michael Ciaccia

Yes he did talk about loading the mags but I think he was referring to making sure the rounds were "staggered" left and right of each other, not necessarily about the case rims being in front of each other. After 50 years he might be used to loading single stack 22 mags that you would have for a Ruger Mark or SW Victory which typically you would pull down the follower as you are loading. These double stack 22 mags are still fairly new in the industry. He also said about loading the rounds carefully and he had instances where he had no issue doing that. But we don't really know if he continued to pull down the follower or not in that scenario. When he loaded the mags carefully, he may have gotten lucky with the rounds falling in front of each other. I'm fairly certain that most of the issues he had in the vid were failures to feed.

Andrettski

Nothing like letting the civilian market to do all the testing trials for the product to save their company money.

Andrettski

I guess I'm glad I got the Beretta M9 .22, however, I'm NOT gonna say "I've got 5,000 rounds through this gun and haven't had one issue" I gotta call BS when I hear someone say that about a .22 firearm. I don't even have 300 rounds through my M9 and I've had about 10 or so failures. Still working out what it really likes or more about what it doesn't like. Thanks Nutn and Wyatt for the hilarious GRV.

Racing Psychosis

Got 200 so far through my cheapass fun cowboy 22 Wrangler, its the gun that brings a smile to everyone's face when they shoot it.

Andrettski

I got a Wrangler too. It's fun to just slow things down once in a while with a single action revolver. And yes the 'cowboy' fun factor is def a thing. Liked the Wrangler so much I bought a Single Six in stainless(Bisley edition) Plus they'll shoot any ammo

Daniel Gray Webb

Absolutely yes on the P17. I haven't shot the tx22 so I don't have an opinion. I have put 300 rounds of everything from blazer to CCI MINI and all has worked no stoppage ever. Great BOK little pistol, great for beginners too and just a ton of fun to take to the range.

Vito S

@Andretttski, we have 2 TX22's which we purchased right after their release. Both of them have in excess of 15K rounds through them. Both of them have gone 5K rounds in between cleanings. I have zero reason to make that up. I'm not the only one. I know of a guy who was and may still be on YT who went 8K rounds in between cleanings on his TX. We had ammo failures to be sure, as is common with virtually all 22LR range type ammo. We shot Aguila Super Extra 40 grain copper washed round nose. I picked up a ton of it for 3.2 cents per round from Sportsman Guide pre pandemic when they couldn't give the stuff away. It's very decent ammo, but shoots as dirty as most cheap 22LR. The only issues were 100% ammo related. The key to the great duration of normal operation in between cleanings is something I learned from an old timer on YT. I polished the feed ramp on each barrel with a bit of flitz and dremel with a bullet shaped buffer bit. Secondly and more important, I took all of our mags apart and ran a 22LR magazine brush through the inside of the mag. Then I sprayed each mag with a coating of dry teflon which I bought from Shooters Connection. We have 16 mags, and other than wiping of the dirt on the exterior, they have never been taken apart since. I think this operation is critical with any 22LR pistol, especially models with larger capacity mags. I will tell you when it comes to cleaning them after that many rounds going through them, it's a serious job which takes much longer than normal. The amount of gunk on the inside of the slide and frame was huge. The barrel I soaked in Hoppes No9 for 15 minutes. Then I used a bore snake with CLP on it and ran it through 10 times. When I finished cleaning them, they were good to go for another 5000 rounds. We also have a TX22 Competition. That one gets cleaned after every match (target or steel challenge) and shoots amazingly well. I'm thinking the P322 might need that same treatment to run better. The fact that it holds 20 rounds per mag is incredible, but not great if they don't run well.

Vito S

Great review Nutn. I really love this P322, but I can't justify buying one. I think the mag issues and feeding problem can be easily resolved. See my response above to Andrettski. Thanks

James Hood

Same here on the Tarus. Flawless with multiple types of ammo

Shadeslinger

Ego quickie for ya as far as the intro rant. I don’t have the time, resources or cash to test gear to the extent that something like TNP can. That said I try to draw upon the experience of others to help make an informed decision on purchases (not just in gear but with most purchases in life). Whatever source that is has to be truthful, and that’s what I have found with TNP. From “non operator” approved gear ranging from the Keltec PF9, Holosun optics, Condor LBEs, camping/hiking gear, you name it, TNP has yet to steer me wrong in my personal purchases based off of these reviews. Or maybe I just got lucky? I doubt it. /Ego handjob complete/

Patrick Brichta

Dude, love the 45 min full length 22lr video, I never get tired of 22lr content. It never gets old. Great take on a fatal flaw in the mag. You don't mention the Taurus TX22 as a competitive option. I've had nothing but compete success with that gun, only 4 rounds less, and half the price! You could buy two TX22s for the price of one sig. One for the BOK and one to train with... once it's in the kit it's gone forever. Thanks so much for keep the project rolling, 😀.

TNSheep

If these mags are not stacked right, they WILL have failures. However, I noticed his mags are different than mine, I've had 0 failures to feed or any of the issues in 3000 rounds in the gun. The other guy I seen having issues had the same mags as Nutn here, and they are also different from my mags. And these were all suppressed, so you know it extra dirty. The P322 is such a dream to shoot, I dont bother grabbing most other stuff when I want to dork around cause.. it's 20 rounds, and easy to shoot.

Jason Boyles

If that's true, the people on the board at Sig are friggin retarded!

Tim Bone

Sig has somehow become that hot younger woman...looks great in your hands, lots of style and fun to be with. But unfortunately is also expensive, entitled and has a recent history you REALLY DON'T want to know about. Also might just go off for no apparent reason and definitely doesn't take kindly to criticism. Dump her and another chump will pick her up in a heartbeat... 😂🤣😂

Andy Caldwell

Nutn' saved lives with his Sig Cross review. No doubt. Sig's legal team should be profusely thanking Nutn'.

bugout

Thoughts on keltec p17 as GTW & bugout 22LR?? I'm loving mine + cp33 (running cheek weld w 1.93riser red dot)

Nathan P Hubsch

Nutn, I deal with the same problems with vendors we work with. Had material come in with machining stains or burn marks from CNC machining for a while. I called out the company on it and they just denied it was their fault. They said "that didn't come that way from my shop". So the next time the delivery guy came, which was the brother of the owner, I inspected them right after they came off the truck in front of the owners brother and found plenty of stains and burn marks. That caused a phone call, they took them back and since then it hasn't happened again. Companies will always deny fault or poor quality on their end, so I'm not surprised at the SIG board.

Stefan Knie

Hey nutn, I'm late to this video, cause life, wife-daughter-friends-job 😉. It's maybe because of the camera angle, but is ur health good? U r very shacky during the table top scenes! Just asking, after years of watching you and ur family I'm concerned. I know we don't know each other, but I care for you & ur family.
