A touchstone review for my probably short-lived foray into airguns, here's what many consider to be the best airgun currently made. The FX Impact M3 (and follow on upgrades) is a super quality, powerful, supremely accurate air rifle that competes with .22s. No joke.

In extended testing we learned the platform well and were highly impressed with all its versatility and capabilities. Entry price is steep and I'm going to have fun with this in the intro. But I will circle back and put the question squarely where it needs to be, NOT cost BUT value.

Much shooting of the Impact M3 in my preferred .25 cal will be shown, sorry no killing of animals here. But lots a fun toy boat shooting, steel targets, in field accuracy testing out to 100 yds and a lot more. Conclusion will be drawn in this feature length air gun review and I will rest my case with the data presented!

Best Airgun in World ? FX Impact M3

Looks like a fun one. Will definitely watch tonight.

Josh Winkler

Will be an awesome watch while charting at work tomorrow. Please keep these up!

Rick Grad

Hundreds of hours spent shooting cans as a kid. This vid hits home man.

John Foley

Well done, thank you for the review.

Hold Fast Joe

Can't wait to watch it! I go to 22 matches and half the crowd will carry out their preferred airgun instead of a 22 on calm days. They're way cool

squealer

Holy crap, that's a lot of money. I want one.

There's a few fx models and other things show up for competition. Two things I've heard them talk about: 1. Never let the bottle drop below 1600psi. Helps prevent water going through the system and water won't hurt it but increases standard deviation decreasing accuracy. Along this same idea they use filters between scuba tank and rifle to reduce water reaching the rifle bottle 2. Buy high end pellets. Take those pellets and measure them to group same sized pellets together to some insane tolerance. Once grouped by size then weigh the pellets and stack up groups by again some insane tolerance. They want 100-200 pellets of similar size and weight for a match to get best results Scopes I see vary but typically seeing avg priced ($300 range) scopes in the 6-24 power or 8-32 power range. Not the best glass but they're not using them in bad conditions. Long as it holds zero and tracks, good to go

Totally worth it. I was a competitive shooter in college. NCAA/USA Shooting. In 1993 I bought a $1000 .177cal Walther air pistol which I still have. I have used it for precision pest control where a firearm could not be used safely or legally. Love that pistol. Sobering you can buy a Sig MCX for this price point but I’d spend the $2200 if I had it. Might save my pennies for this one.

Ian

love the airgun reviews, really excited to see what a higher end pellet gun can do. good on you for bringing new looks to the project

Jeremy Hicks

Keep the airgun reviews coming! I'm loving them.

Murphy

More air gun reviews! But more economical than this one.

Paul Kwiatkowski

This video is the only way I will ever get to see this gun. I like the info and understand the value but even the lower priced airguns are too expensive for me.

BadgerTails

Sweet! How much is dinner worth when you can take it inconspicuously?! Daisy 880s back in the day, GAMOs today, always learning. Thank You!

Steven Salina

It may be impressive for what it is, but unless you're in a state the bans all guns, why not just buy a really nice 22lr at 1/4 of the cost?

Downtrodden

I went through a brick of .22 last weekend so it’s still on! That air gun is rad for sure. I’m still looking for a good excuse to get on one. I love watching Iguana hunter videos in Florida. There are guys in GA hunting deer with the big slugs. I think air guns are awesome. The guys in the UK shooting in their gardens know where it’s at.

Ol Retired Fed

There are so many really big bore hunting capable air guns there days it's crazy. I stick with the .22 and .177 airguns myself, as we have no killer ware-squirrels around here. BTW is this a new segment we can expect in the future, "Air gun fishing with Nutn"?

small axe

I don't know about something super expensive like this thing, but for me the reason for airgun ownership is pigeon control in my suburban yard. If I shot a .22 in my back yard I could expect a visit from the Mesa PD and most likely a ride in the back seat of a cop car. At the same time I find a pigeon infestation to be an unacceptable option. If the choice is buy a pellet rifle or pigeon feces all over the place I'm going airgun all day long and twice on Sunday.

Steven Salina

Be sure to check your local city codes. A lot of them include air rifles as "firearms" and treat them as if you fired a weapon within city limits. Not saying it should be that way, just saying you don't want an angry pigeon loving neighbor trying to get you in trouble.

hoplite ⚔️

I have a crazy ass pigeon loving neighbor next to my shop. Ridiculous.

I think these are still considered non-restricted firearms in Canada. Takes the fun out of them being in a diff category and acceptable to use in more places. 👎🏼

Ben Wagner

Have you made a video showing how to do the hands mods on watches?

Jacob Leage

Love the airgun content!

Maplebrew

I got serious in Airgun’s during the Obama Ammo shortage as an alternate to 22. Now they are my “GO-TO” choice in dealing with muskrats on the pond. 150 yards with a 25 cal to the head works when they are out of the water

Kyle weyerbacher

I’ve really enjoyed the new POU of air guns. Hope the interest picks up so we can get more reviews.

Bluegill097

Man, I really like the idea of incorporating the airgun into my system for small game (squirrel, iguana). BUT I would be more interested wayyyy on the other end of the price spectrum, like $250. There is no way I can personally justify 10x the price no matter how cool. I was one of those guys you mentioned that almost fell over! I'd even flinch at that price on a 308. Love the watch convo at the beginning though, great comparison. Still a fun video, and if one of those fell out of the sky and into my gun safe I'd be elated.

Colostomybag

I bought a CZ 457 Jaguar with a 29” barrel for 700 bucks. Add a 700 dollar suppressor and it’s cheeper and quieter. Less powerful yes but way cheeper. I get it if you want to shoot in your basement but I would rather get a CZ acushadow 2, much more fun for me.

WILLIAM MEYER

Love the air gun chatter Nut'n. Upgraded to the Air Venturi, on your recommendation, for Iguana & squirrel control. Deadly and accurate. Keep up the GREAT work Col.

CBlaster 1

Pity in the UK we are limited to 12ft/lbs.

TechNeck

i think the biggest thing holding me back out of airguns is the restrictions placed on these firearms... yes in canada its still a firearm (over 500FPS). I would be more inclined to pickup a cheap ruger airhawk if i want to shoot grouse or paper. 1/10th the cost, simple... not considered a firearm, it will drop gamebirds NP.

Cyborg009

Garand Thumb just did a video on a different FX rifle. I think he’s going to inspire some views of your content if it is on YouTube.
