A 2 for 1 review! Having reviewed the Browning Hi Power, it's time to consider some of its clones. These will be lower cost, have a warranty, and you can shoot them w/o guilt. A really pristine Browning Hi Power can cost $2000 these days. Lots of guys will simply treat it as a collectible and never shoot it! Enter the Springfield Armory P35 and Girsan MCP35, both BHP homages. Sean the TNPr and I did plenty of shooting with both and came to some quick conclusions. Each approaches its copying of the Hi Power differently. And one is much less expensive.  Both might scratch the itch of you wanting the Hi Power formula in your collection. Another fun GRV brought to you by TNP Donors!

Can't afford Browning Hi Power: Try These

Love the Hi Power, will definitely own a Browning or FN at some point. My current is a FEG. Works great, John Moses Browning was truly a genius, and his designs are so simple but so effective. This is no different.

Crap! You found another gaping hole in my 9mm collection. And had to highlight it.

Thank you for more hi power content, keep it up and God bless! But I must add that you don't need to register the Canadian model with the stock. Ones with serial numbers starting with the letters CH are exempt from SBR paperwork and tax due to the atf deeming it a collectors item unlikely to be used in a crime. Weird double standards :( I bought one as soon as I found out about this, and would highly recommend getting one. Had to pay $2000 for it, but it was well worth it and my one and only pseudo PCC. Very packable and fun.

Great insights. I'm one of those who isn't turned on by historic pieces. I'm more interested in the practical. So I've only been interested in the Hi Power because of Axel Foley for the longest time, but now there are some options with modern features. I am looking at the new compact model Girsan just released. Out of curiosity, when did you review the Arex Delta Gen 2, or is that on the way soon?

To my knowledge, we still use the hi power in the Canadian forces. A close friend of mine is a Captain. Said he trained on that system in basic.

We need a beretta 92 IISA!!!!!!

I had wanted a clone for years and picked up the first SA I saw at my lgs. I have enjoyed it and don't mind putting the wear on it. Comfortable enough to play a battleship shooting game recently.

I effing hate Patreon for doing this. I cannot stand this new BS.

Creators have to start the chat now. I just went into my creator account and found it.

Nutn you need to start throwing a fit to Patreon about this forced unsubscribing of patrons. It is a widespread issue across the entire platform. On top of this this new app redesign has removed the member posts. How the hell does that make sense? I seriously wish we could all abandon ship and go to a better platform.

Thank you for posting this video. I'm one of those guys who can't afford a genuine Hi power, so I appreciate this video.

Agreed! Shot one recently, and it was fantastic!

Colt CBX hunter please nutn!

Can we get a limited run on merch (even just a hat) for Patreon subs?

I have the Girsan because that’s all I could afford at the moment. Switched out the stock grips for some nice wood Hogue grips and it’s almost as nice as the spring field. I have no complaints (except for the trigger)

If you get a high power clone definitely get the Girsan deluxe model! It doesn’t have that retarded Mag disconnect safety that ruins the trigger pull. And it’s got a slightly elongated “beaver tail” to eliminate and hammer bite to the web of your hand, they are $600. FYI the white paint will fall off the sights. Looking for Tritium replacements. I just didn’t enjoy the Springfield SA35. The Girsan 1911’s are sweet too. Often overlooked.
