Here's where we get down to business! In this and subsequent parts, I do a high detail breakdown of my Vehicle Bug Out Kit build. Like my other survival kit concept videos, this will give you a huge peace of mind once you have it. You'll be on the road with your other "insurance policy" which will prep you for today's clown world.

But we're also here to have a fun time and this Part 2 will deliver. Here we'll talk about how funny YOU guys are and I'll reference some of your items sent. They are on display here in the TNP Bunker.

Then I change things a little bit and make our requirements a little more stringent: how far and for how long should you plan/build your VBOK? Initially it was for 4 days. Fitness and my incredible potato chip workout routine are discussed. Also the realities of 'Bugging In" are reiterated here...yes you might have to do it in the truck too.

Container choice is an interesting discussion, perhaps something you have not put a lot of thought into. But since the donor clubhouse voted for HIGH detail we take that fun detour here. Then I'll show a bit of the lighting, weaponry, and tool choices of the Nutnfancy VBOK as we break it open. Since our needs are mostly the same as my USK, DSK, and BOK concepts, you'll see interpretations of the same here. Anti-theft also discussed.

Vehicle Bug Out Kit Pt2: Be Insured!

Yes!! My VBOK got water compromised and needs a rebuild. Such perfect timing to help me get our vehicles prepped up. Thanks Uncle Nutn!!

Mike Y

This Patreon thing is pretty nice.

Todd Strelka

Thanks for featuring a Chevy Silverado in the thumbnail for me. 😀 I'm looking forward to seeing this video.

Mike Y

Collapsing infrastructure is increasing the chances as well. Train derailment recently on I 25 north of Pueblo.

Greg Malcom

Love this subject. Thanks brother! (Watching Mich v OSU now but will get to this tonight. Love college football.)

On May 29th, 2020, I inadvertently drove right into the heart of a major GF riot in Austin, TX. Both directions of travel on I-35, all 8 lanes, were completely shut down with 2,000+ pissed off angry rioters. I was just released from active duty at Ft Sam Houston, so no firearm, only a big Cold Steel Bowie and a sharpened Spetznatz shovel for protection. Things were being thrown and my truck was pounded on, but thank God no one tried to enter my vehicle. I think the only reason I was able to eventually able to drive away is because the crowd was mostly focused on the LEO present. Now I keep level 2A body armor with an ECH helmet, level II trauma kit and stacked mags in the truck at all times. I feel that body armor, including good eye pro are super important. The last thing you want to do is exit your vehicle in the middle of a riot. Unless it's on fire, or it's seriously damaged where there are no other good options, stay in the vehicle. Don't become another Reginald Denny. Be patient! Take any opportunity to evade and escape, and as a last resort defend from inside the vehicle.

Part 3 what happens if you are in your Corvette on a cruise when SHTF....

Mark Higginson

I just had a flat tire last night. The spare was flat too. I discovered that I needed a cordless impact driver with the sockets that fit the lug nuts. The vehicle supplied tire wrench wasn’t going to give me the torque to remove the nuts. Additionally, a small electric power air pump would be a necessity. A can of fix a flat for just in case. Make sure you have a good scissor jack too.

BadgerTails

YES!! In HD2160p we have Christmas special VBOK part Deux!!! Love it! Have fun as forever students learning from each other. (5) AG1 travel packs come with the AG1 sub., and THOSE went into an empty Gatorade bottle for nutrition/water needs. Drive on Nutn!!!

Cody Harring

Already watched, Great video as normal! I believe a am the 26lbs you referenced also no firearm or water weight included. Mine was built when I was traveling to customers typical 60 miles or closer. As I mentioned previously mine was for single person to get back to family as soon as possible and is always under the back seat of my truck. For family trips or other longer trips a have additional add on or bags.

Matthew Sinn

Thanks for the POU clarifications Nutn, I understand better now where you're drawing the distinctions between vehicle support supplies and the VBOK. Great part 2, looking forward to the rest. Very much interested in your evaluation of the pre-built FAK. I went the route of building my own because I was always very disappointed with the off the shelf ones - so much wasted space. 350 pcs advertized? Yeah and half of that count is individual bandaids or individual aspirin pills.

Alexander Morton

Hi Nutnfancy! Thanks for Part 2! It was cool to hear that you have some experience with the Beretta 21a. I love these mouse guns, and I own four! I have both the covert .22 model and a 25 auto (Maryland manufacture)…do you have plans of reviewing the new 21a vs. the 950 BS? I have rewatched Paul Herrel’s videos about .22 vs 25 auto, and it would be interesting to hear your POU on these mouse guns in general vs the modern .380 competition.

The Nutnfancy Project

Yep that was you Cody, thanks for reminding me. You've put some good thought into your kit Cody! Sounds about right.

david rockwell

Great to see second VBOK close to first part. Second part is similarly entertaining, informative, and cause for refection of my vehicle kit. If team members are interested in premade FAK and trauma kits, check out darkangelmedical .com (legit gear; solid instructor). Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.

I live in the MN twin cities south metro. I work a lot in the metro so one of my major concerns is getting across the river back south if all roads are down or forcibly held. So I have to think about swimming and keeping critical things dry. It's a 7 to 30 mile journey depending on where I am working... Here's my kit:Black Kelty redwing 50 l water proof stuff sack with light weight sleeping bag, clothes camp stove, flash lights batteries it in. knife - gerber survival knife (becuase it's what I have) Storm proof matches flashlight and headlamp - batteries first aid kit 4 plastic bottles of water and life straw water filter Beretta 96 with holster and extra mags that I keep in truck dark colored gortex rain coat that I keep in truck sleeping bag warm shirt wool socks long johns hat gloves camp stove/fuel and one pot insulated cup/bowl utensils some dehidrated meals snacks instant coffee powdered electrolytes paracord toilet paper

Matthew Sinn

I used to live in Eagan. My condolences... such a shame how far down hill that place has gone. Doggedly trying to convince my parents to get the heck out of there.

Joshua Pulliam

I’m going to have to break out the pen and paper and takes notes for this one! I’m excited to hear more of your thoughts on this concept.

Brandon conley

Good call on eye pro. I put on eye pro often. Even when driving through bad weather. Glass or debris in the eye can put you out of commission pretty easily.

Bluegill097

Such a fun video! Thanks for the detail, I already see things I need to add.

hoplite ⚔️

You mention that you keep water in your vehicle. Do you do anything to stop it from freezing in winter time?

Jacob Leage

Self Reliance Outfitters has a good selection of folding saws. Tuff Saw looks nice, never owned one though. Loving this VBOK series Nutn!!

Rob Miller

Great video series here. Thank you. After 2 parts, I still feel pretty prepared, although you did highlight a few potential holes I may consider filling. Its an important subject to cover even if it only confirms I’m squared away.

Porter3861

Awesome video & loved the high detail. Excellent rant, as well. I always find gaps in my own systems (like the limb saw - might need it even if your vehicle is still an xport option) through your work. Looking forward to the VBOK vids to come.

Charlie Stout

Really enjoying this high detail series! Looking forward to the rest Nutn!

Christopher B.

Connected my computer to the TV with an HDMI cable for this one. Who need Comcast/DirecTV when you have TNP? I'll chime in with a recommendation here. Alliance rubber band company makes some very long lasting X-Treme EPDM rubber bands. Have you ever wrapped an item in rubber bands for long term storage and after a few years the bands snap or start disintegrating? I hate that! RubberbandDotCom, Amazon or eBay.

hoplite ⚔️

Sounds like a good setup. Thanks for the share!

Racing Psychosis

I'm about 2 hours southeast of there in Wisconsin. Its ridiculous how bad the Twin Cities have become since Trans Floyd. A trucker buddy of mine was driving a route up in there during the riots, it was crazy what he was having to do to his big rig to secure it, literally strapping the passenger door shut to the interior of the cab, to cable tying all of his airlines to secure them from being disconnected. I have friends that lived near where the POS rioters would mass up nightly, they and their neighbors would take watches on their homes in the evenings with firearms, fire extinguishers and every garden hose and bucket filled with water that they could muster. They still have not left, must not be bad enough yet.

Dustin

Absolutely love the beretta jetfire integration. Fantastic idea as the wife certainly will be in the car if SHTF and it gives me not only a backup pistol, but more importantly her a pistol so she is up-armed. I need to purchase a cold steel slock master for the kit. I think that will be a very reasonable choice and agree with your logic. Lightweight, durable, baton-able. Thanks as always Nutn.

Chris Marchi

Nutnfacy, you beautiful bastard, I read your book!!!

Corbin McNeal

nutnfancy - dont need 6,000 liter backpack for vbok..pulls out a 50liter lmao

Racing Psychosis

Mine here in Wisconsin, in and out, constantly, never left in for long periods of time.

Hudson

Holy crap - thanks for the shoutout! Keep the great content rolling we love the long-form vids Nutn.

hoplite ⚔️

Thanks for the response. They would freeze for sure overnight.

hoplite ⚔️

Thanks for this recommendation. I was thinking the same thing about old limp rubber bands.

Rob Miller

I buy a case of high quality water. Currently using LeBleu. That gives me 24 pretty high quality bottles for cheap. I refill them and leave a little room for expansion. I have these stashed everywhere.

Sam Stachnik

Nutnfancy the lighting expert

Patrick Cacchioli

Don't superglue the clip on the light. Get some heat shrink of the appropriate diameter and shrink it on. Also makes holding the flashlight with your teeth easier.

Racing Psychosis

On the flashlights, I just pretty much junked all of the Olight stuff. Using Fenix and Streamlights instead. Only olight I have left that actually works is the little 3E EOS, can't seem to kill the couple that I have left, they just work. Olight's clips suck. Anything of theirs with a tail cap operation button imo completely sucks, I lost track of how many I had fail, and finally got tire of it and shit canned it completely. I won't buy anymore of their shit.

Racing Psychosis

Another option, is Gear Ties. I use them instead of rubber bands and zip ties. I even use them in kart racing keeping loose wires and fuel lines to stay where I want them or bundled on the kart. Heck, I've even transported a kart on a wheeled kart stand in the trailer tied down to the stand with large Gear Ties. They are awesome, come in all sorts of colors.

Racing Psychosis

A breaker bar or long handled torque wrench with the right socket does not need the battery of a cordless impact driver. If you need more leverage, carry a piece of pipe with you. Another trick, if you have Aluminum wheels and live in the rust belt, often the wheel hub will corrode and practically weld itself to the aluminum especially on the front of these modern day heavy trucks to the point you cannot get the wheel off the hub with the lugs off. I carry a piece of 2x4 in my truck, with just a normal claw hammer or tomahawk/hand axe work as well. Put the block of wood on the backside of the wheel/tire and hit it with the hammer to break that bond between the corrosion and the aluminum. To attempt to keep that from happening again, put a little antiseize grease on just the hub with the studs.

SIDEBAR: to Wyatt the YHM dude ranch cowgirlz expresso maker: is the YHM Turbo Resonator R2 a good choice for the AK?

Kinoons

The release of the PSA rock has altered my loadouts in my BOKs. I love the 5.7x28for SAWC but the cost of the pistols make it hard to write one off. Now that you can get one for $350ish that’s becomes an option. 23 round mags, extra rounds are light and compact, and good enough ballistics from the handgun make it an easy choice.

SigCrash

What anime is the blue haired lady from?

Joey

Under theft prevention, I suggest putting a very inexpensive gun or BB gun in the glove box. A thief will more than look there first. Then they most likely will leave thinking they did well and scored. All the while your nice gear will be camouflaged somewhere else (maybe with fake poop lol). One of the best folding saws is made by Corona. They are $17-23 for the 7in or 10in and made in Japan! About half the price of silky and do an equal or better job. Check it out!

Josiah Pierce

love these kinds of series Nutn, thanks!

Scott Dunn

Agree on those olight clips!

godfatherUSA

Worst case scenario is an EMP, and unless your electronics/flashlights are in a faraday case, none will work.

Lee Harrell [W5GCF]

I missed this video and others on YT because they unsubscribed me from your Lt. Col. channel. I’ve been subscribed to that channel for 10 years. I’m not even sure when they unsubscribed me. I fucking hate YouTube.

Bravo

“Waste our time we love it” 🤣🤣🤣 classic Nutn’

Another smart way to keep your V-BOK away from prying eyes. If you have a pick up truck and have a lockable tonneau cover and can afford to take up a bit of space in the box. You could use an opaque sportsman tote (ideally waterproof) and just plunk your pack in that, latch it up and ratchet strap it to the very front of the box. Iv found this to be very relatively effective for storing gear. (Diamondback tonneau covers are the most secure but you do have to pay for it)
