I am coming up on filming my Canik MC9 pistol review. All our testing is complete and the gun ran flawlessly. I know of some complaints on the platform dealing with out of battery conditions, mags not dropping free, and so-called drop tests. Again ours ran xlnt and it's a loaner from Gunnies.

If you have a Canik MC9 lmk what YOUR experience is please. I don't want to hear about what this or that reviewer said about the gun, only your experience. I'm not saying these other dudes didn't have issues but I have to primarily go by our testing and in this case, club house data.

I will balance it out in the review though mentioning these issues!

Please pardon my comment. When is the Echelon review coming out Nutn?! Also very well looking to read proper comments. Looking forward to this review.

I absolutely love my mc9. I am sad to say, however, it is literally been a 99/100 gun. The last 4 sessions (trying to complete my pre-carry protocol testing) it will not go into battery ONE time per/100 rounds. I have cleaned it and oiled it a couple times and the trigger is outstanding. It shoots very accurately and I can get groups at 10 yards sub 1 inch. It has had no other problems. What I noticed (and it has loosened up a bit) is the spring is VERY tight, I mean difficult to rack back. That has gotten better. I just don’t have the confidence yet, to put it in my carry rotation. Once I get this worked out, my p365 may be benched. Excellent pistol!

Zero problems out of my MC9. I got mine pretty early on too. G2G in my opinion.

I don’t own one but my shooting buddy does and I have trigger time behind it. I’ve been nothing but tremendously impressed by it to be honest especially when compared with how much it costs. We’ve never had any issues with it at the range and he carries it daily

High detail feature length I hope. Thank you

I have Canik Sf,SFT, SFX PRO, SC, and the newest edition is the MC9. Put 200 rnds thru it this last weekend with 0 issues! I really love it, new EDC. Only problems I have had is with magazines, its a little picky one which ones will lock into place. I tried running the Canik SC mags in and they are particularly hard to get locked into pistol. Other than that, love it and would recommend.

I EDC a Canik MC9 with the Canik red dot. 1.5k rounds, zero issues. All of my other Canik mags work with it (nice 20rd mags to keep around) and it conceal carries really well. Love the Canik triggers, they really punch above their weight!

Mine kept failing to go into batter I sent it back twice they replaced the recoil spring twice and same issue I spent 100 bucks with a gun smith who filed down the ejection spring and the extractor and now it doesn't do it AS much. I've owned about 7 sub compacts for edc and fired 10000s of rounds ( yes tens of thousands) through them and this is the only one I've had a problem with maybe I got a bad one but I'm sticking with my 365 and selling this one and picking up another when they are on sale to see if I got a bad one

Should add I own a tp9sf, tp9sf elite, combat executive, and a s120 I love caniks, but I cannot trust this particular gun with my life

Buck_83

Havent shot mine enough to switch to carrying it, but I have excellent performance and no issues in a mere 100 rounds. Need to shoot it more, wish I could get one with a thumb safety. Wich it had a micro rail instead of full width picatinny

I originally was a SC carrier, wife is a Canik booster because of how well she masters the trigger. When the MC-9 came out I beat the bushes to find one. First box had FTF in our first one but the reviewers said it might take break in. By end of 100 rounds it was reliable with FMJ and mix of HP tested. We bought a second one for the wife and hers ran perfect out of the box. I put Holosun and OLight Baldr S on each but having issues finding holsters. We love the MC-9.

I've been wanting this one since it was released, I have several other flavors so I think I need this one too.

Austin

No MC9 input. Just wanted to say thanks for all the knowledge of the years Nutn!

The Nutnfancy Project

You are welcome, thank YOU Austin (and all) for your kind support of my mission!

Hey Davis, had the same sc magazine hiccup when used in the mc. Found out it’s the height of the base plates that was causing the hard pressing issue. I slid off the base plate and ran the top edge along sandpaper taking off a little bit at a time until the magazine would click in without extra pressure. Hope that helps.

3 caniks here. Mete sfx, sc, and mc. All have had 0 malfunctions. I do experience the mag not dropping free on the mc intermittently, likely due to how thin the walls on the grip are. Light grip helps the mag drop. Hope that helps

Matt

Big canik fan and I've been waiting for this review too. I use my tp9 in IDPA matches and have nearly 5k rounds through it with a ton of dry firing to boot. Only issue I've had was a broken firing pin at about 3.5k rounds which century promptly replaced. Otherwise no jams, stovepipe, etc...nothing. very satisfied with canik in general

Bradford Peck

Canik is awesome way ahead in the competition circuit with its Rival series but even the subcompacts are very good my exp with an elite SC is excellent accuracy and carry reliable though don’t have an MC9 yet. Texture on grip is a little light could be better but fine for carry. Review it Nutn I’m in the market would it replace the elite SC? I don’t know. Don’t like the missing gap in the heel of the 15 rounders mags any ideas how to fix it? Also parts aren’t easy to source like Glock.

Dustin peterson

Mine is a pile. Can’t get through a mag without a round nose diving into the bottom of the feed ramp, or not going back into battery. The magazine also does not drop free. I will stick to one of my other carry pistols, no more canik junk for me.

Bradford Peck

Oh pls compare to Glock 26 or 19

Davis Collins

So good to know!!! Will do this for certain!

Greg Dorn

Had issues with going into battery. Felt over sprung so stored it locked back a few weeks each night and just broke it in and is a really good pistol now.

Nathan Simms aka Darkpriest

Greg I'll give that a try. I need at this point 500 reliable rounds (about 40 mags worth) to trust it

Hold Fast Joe

This is why I have always been reluctant to buy any used firearms. Always hear people selling the ones that don't work.

Adam

My MC9 i carried concealed a short time. Kind of dug into me a little bit and for me I did not care to carry it concealed. Some reason I had problems gripping it. No one else did so I think I just got goofy hands lol. Also had a mag problem, but I found out it was my goofy grip causing them to not fall free. I made an adjustment and good now. 100 rounds no problems

Rob Rizzo

I have one and I love it. 500 problem free rounds through mine and I love that my Holosun 407 is a direct mount to slide with no plates. If Canik really wanted to sell more guns they would make this exact gun in a 4 inch and 5 inch version kind of like Sig with the 365 series. Its slim like a 1911 but so light and easy to carry. And even better it takes full size 20 round Canik mags. Its so good it replaced my elite sub compact as my daily carry

I think it’s cool you’re getting the clubhouse more involved in the project. Salute!

Blizzak454

I'm waiting for an MC9 Mete SFX...... 4" barrel a la Glock 48.... They HAVE to make it. And if so, I WILL buy it.

TNSheep

Rival, that was the one I was trying to think of earlier.

Q

love and hate the fact that Canik doesn't get the kudos they deserve. hate it because 9mm guys i know scoff at them until they try mine. love it 'cause i can afford them. Canik is a real player. great vid - jq
