Thumbnail edits (Patreon)

Often when I'm writing scenes I end up doing thumbnails twice. Once to get the idea of what I want down (in this case, I needed an establishing shot of the banquet hall), and then again to nail down composition and address things that might be too difficult/unnecessary to draw. I like doing thumbnails in big chunks of ten or so at a time so that I have time to come back to them later and realize what needs to be fixed before I move on to final pages.
I knew I would have to come back to the thumbnail on the left because it would be just too much work for a single comic page and not very fun to draw. The version on the right is not as good at capturing the chaos of the banquets as the left one might be if I was suuure I could execute it successfully. But the magic of comics is I don't have to illustrate everything in a single panel and can bring in supporting panels to set the mood of the scene in a way that won't break my wrist or spirit or anything xD
