One Day Build Delay (Patreon)

Hello everyone ^_^

I'm starting to sound a bit like a broken record these days, but sadly I'm going to be delaying the current build for one day more. My new work/study schedule is still knocking it out of me, and after sleeping through most of this evening, I've got a few things half complete that I really want to get sorted before this build.

I'm sorry that I keep delaying on builds lately, it causes me no pleasure to do so, but I really think that the extra day will help. So far, the current build is around 10k words, with some nice new additions that'll add something for everyone, but I really want to get the start of the degradationist brothel complete after having delayed it (and worked on it) for so long.

I know this must be frustrating (it is to me too), and I greatly appreciate everyone's continued patience as I try and get everything back into the swing of things.

I'd much rather you work on this when you're happy than to put of things that are actually important in your life in order to satisfy us. There's a WORLD of adult content out there, we can find other things to distract ourselves with between your builds, don't worry :)

Thank you for your kind words on this ExDee, though I feel I should explain myself a little better on this ^_^ I still very much love writing the game. Further, I find working on it very enjoyable and rewarding to do so, even the parts that are polled, suggested or commissioned (I know people who've expressed worry regarding that in the past). However, I sometimes get frustrated with my progress, especially lately after spending the best part of the last month ill and now having a new work schedule. It's all caused me to slip behind with commissions and polls, which in turn have caused me a lot of stress, even more so as I've wanted to get some progress on some of the main content overhauls that the game's needed for a long time. I've felt better about things this week, though it has been slower going than I would have liked. Right now I'm kicking myself over under calculating how long some of the content would take, in particular the degradationist brothel, which likely won't be finished for a while at my current rate. But, I still love doing this, more than anything the frustration is caused by not being able to get all of my ideas out in a timely manner. Hope that explains things a little better, and thanks again ^_^

I understand where you're coming from, I've seen what you're going through happen to many other creators both high and low profile, especially when they put themselves under pressure to push out new and exciting content or remove and revise existing content "in time". Patreon's delivery model doesn't totally fit for adult content creators because you need arguably more energy to do what you are than you might do for something like woollen animal knitting. We love that you love what you love, but there's no need to do everything perfectly because in a sense nobody is asking you to - you aren't dependent on your Patreon income to meet your bills, right? Lots of love regardless,

Yeah, it can lead to a lot of pressure, and I'm probably a littler harsher on myself than I should be. In theory, I aim for 5k words a week, though in truth I often get frustrated if I don't hit 10k, and even then often feel I've not done enough. I've realized over the past couple of months that I need to slow things down a little at times, and have got better in dealing with it, but occasionally I still find myself kicking myself over not hitting targets. I don't do this full time as my job, though I'd to if possible (and I feel I'm getting closer with that). At least for another year and a half or so, I've got my Comp Sci Masters to contend with too, which also stops me from having to worry about money issues, so fingers crossed I can my game projects to the stage where when that ends I can walk straight into doing this full time. That's the dream at least ^_^ On the Patreon matter, commissions in particular are something that I'd love for Patreon to have a better system for. As, whilst I love having the community input into my work (it's really great, and I love the ideas people bring to me), it'd be so much better to actually be able to have open so many commission slots and manage them better rather than having limited monthly repeating tiers. Though, enough of my rambling. Thank you for your kind comments, hopefully I can get better at managing my schedule as I go along ^_^
