I cried so hard first time watching this show but I somehow cried as much watching this for like tenth time damn... this drama opened my door into kdrama world and it's still there in my favs till this day!! euntak was in fact living angel among humans that didn't deserved her but at the end she found the right people to also makes her happy!

- Man, I was in for a nice happy end with this drama, why are Reaper and Sunny still going on about separating? Just get together and be happy! Who the fuck is there to stop you? - Oh, so the bitch aunt is dead. Well, serves her right. - What the shit just happened. - Yeah idk, I don't buy it that she's really dead. That would be such a weird out of nowhere decision from this show. - Goblin really walked through the desert for nine years just for Eun-tak to die within a few days. That's bullshit. - I mean, I was gonna ask: Goblin is still immortal, right? And if he was lucky, he'd have 70 years with Eun-tak before she dies of old age and he still keeps on living. And now he doesn't have a sword that can be pulled out to allow him to die. Meaning he'd have 70 years of bliss, which is absolutely nothing compared to the inescapable enternity of loneliness that is to follow. And those hypothetical 70 years have been cut off early now. - The entire point of this show in the beginning was that he was getting tired of his immortality and wanted to find his bride so he could finally die, no? Now he's stuck here forever. Even if Eun-tak finds him again in all three of her subsequent lives and she gets to live out these lives to 100 or so, that's still only about 3x80=240 years of a love life. At best. Again, that is NOTHING compared to the hell of immortality without end, that he seemingly has no way out of anymore. Unless I missed something? - And Sunny too now. This final episode is just addicted to tragedy. - „I missed you a lot“ THEN WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU JUST LIVE TOGETHER - Well, at least these two get to be together in their next life. - And here's Eun-tak back again. That's nice, I suppose. I gotta be honest, not a huge fan of this ending. Some characters making really illogical decisions because the writer needed things to be sad and tragic. Feels kinda forced tbh. There was no reason why Sunny and Reaper couldn't just have lived happily together, yet Sunny still leaves because...? Did we ever actually get a reason? If we did, I can't remember it. And there's Eun-tak's sudden death, which was so out of left field and completely arbitrary that it loses all emotional impact for me. And as we see, she comes back in her next life anyway. I already mentioned it, the writer also didn't seem to think about the implication of the Goblin coming back to life without a sword to pull out. There was nothing said about him being able to choose to die if he wants so I guess he's stuck in immortality now? Renders this whole ordeal a bit pointless, don't you think? This show was pretty good but I don't know. It didn't grab me by the emotions as much as other shows like Hotel del Luna, IOTNBO or Flower of Evil. I liked the characters a lot, especially the Reaper and Sunny. But that timeskip and the last 3 episodes felt a bit off. Not as much as something like Death Note after episode 26 but you know what I mean? Quite a few things about the ending felt contrived and I probably would have liked it better if the sword had been pulled out in the actual final episode and it ending with the death of the Goblin. Yes, that would have made for an even more tragic ending than what we got but that is more in line with what the front half of the show has been building towards. As it is, the show tries to have its cake and eat it too by hitting us both with insane tragedy out of nowhere in the final episode but also giving us a hint of a happy end with the reincarnated Eun-tak. I think an episode 16 sword pull could have done something similar but with Goblin and Eun-tak BOTH completely reincarnated as regular human beings, many years later. Like the Reaper and Sunny. Maybe that would have felt more satisfying. I'd rank Goblin somewhere in the lower half of the Kdramas I've seen. My top 5 is still held strong by Vincenzo, Flower of Evil, The Glory, Itaewon Class and Hotel del Luna. Speaking of, Goblin and The Glory were both written by the same author: Kim Eun-sook. Kinda cool how these two shows which are so fundamentally different from each other were both written by the same woman. She also wrote Descendants of the Sun which I've been hearing about for some time. Maybe that'll be a show we watch at some point in the future? Depends on the polls I suppose.

I'm a fan of Kim Eun-sook and have seen almost all of her dramas. DOS was just co-written by her and I would probably rank it below Goblin but above The Heirs. Her crowning glory is Mr. Sunshine. It's not a drama that I rewatch often because it puts your heart through the wringer, but I haven't seen another kdrama that has topped it in terms of writing, acting, cinematography, music. I highly recommend it.

- Why did the Goblin get jealous of Euntak's friend dating a younger guy? Was he afraid Euntak might get influenced by her and possibly do the same? 🤔 - During that whole conversation between the Grim Reaper and the female Grim Reaper, the female didn't say even 1 word. What would her script look like: reaper looks surprised. reaper looks sad. reaper looks puzzled. reaper starts crying 😅 - So, Euntak can see ghosts again, even when her mark has gone? But why though? - Yeah, I didn't know the aunt was a ghost either. Wow, that's rough, because now you can't even get away from her. - That whole scene with the ghost (credited as the Virgin Ghost) handling the aunt was really weird to me. 1. why is she so much stronger than the aunt? 2. what changed so that she was now ready/able to leave/stop being a ghost? 3. what was all that "she is someone I cherish dearly" about? 4. how is 1 ghost able to make another ghost leave with her? Aren't you a ghost if you have unfinished business or something? The Virgin Ghost shouldn't be able to decide for the aunt that her business is finished, right? Weird. - "Until death parts us". It would have been funny if the Grim Reaper jumped between them 😁 - If the Goblin still has his Goblin powers, does that mean he's still immortal too? In that case, wouldn't he outlive Euntak and be alone forever? - Jeez, is a car crash really the only way of dying in K-dramas? - When I saw you bopping along the music (Ailee - I Will Go To You Like the First Snow) it reminded me again how truly amazing the whole soundtrack of this series still is 💗 - "It took him 9 years to get back and it took her 30 years". Well, considering that she had to be reborn first, and then grow up for 20 years or something, it's close to being the same 😋 Final thoughts: what a great series. The ones who recommended this did a great job 😋 But I must admit that the ending could have been done better imo: first you get the episode where Euntak (suddenly) pulls the sword which should've been the end more or less. And then you still get a few more episodes that feel a bit weird, because the show kinda already ended or should've ended.

I agree with pretty much everything you said here, and also for pretty much the same reasons. Well said 👍

What a wild ride it's been! I was glad to rewatch it with you! There are special episodes of Goblin! It shows behind the scenes, ad-libs, bloopers, missing scenes and all kind of stuff that happened during filming! Plus commentary! I hope you can react to that too! It's called Goblin Special: The Summoning (2 episodes.) You can find both on Bilibili (part 2 focuses more on ad-libs and bloopers) : https://www.bilibili.tv/en/video/2049276024

Star Dust

That was a roller-coaster. Ughhhhh.

The Grim Reaper and Sunny are reunited as main characters in another drama afterwards! We thought of the drama as a spin-off
