I waited for this so lomg 😭 It's the most "real" Show I have ever watched... not just Kdrama, but Show overall! It's so underrated... this is definitely a watch that ANYONE from any culture, can enjoy and appreciate. I can't wait to listen to your thoughts and feelings, throughout the episodes!

Oh I love this show! Awesome to see you checking it out! As for Squid Game S3, I liked the first two seasons but the reviews and reactions for S3 have been so horrendous that I didnt even watch it on my own yet because I'm scared it will ruin the show for my similiarly to GOT lol maybe others felt the same :D

By the way... if Squid Game "drains" the life out of you, then you, and anyone who watched it, actually NEEDS the life that When Life Gives You Tangerines BREATHES into the soul, for sure... 😅 💚

Thank you so much 🥹

fun fact: the child actress playing young Aesun is named Kim Taeyeon (like the singer from SNSD) she won best newcomer awards for this role, so yeah the acting on the childrens part is really amazing on this show, you'll see other examples of this in future episodes too.

I’m so glad you decided to watch this show. It has such a beautiful story to it. I absolutely love it. It made me cry damn near every episode

- I'm guessing that one old woman we only see from behind is the older version of IU's character? - And you litereally say the exact same thing two seconds later 😂 - My boy is literally just standing there doing nothing and he gets ridiculed for it. Tf did he do to deserve this 😭 - At this point I'm convinced that Yeom Hye-ran has acted in every Kdrama ever produced bc how do we just keep on encountering her in EVERYTHING we watch? - And I just found out: the actress playing the child version of IU is named Kim Tae-yeon. Taeyeon playing a younger IU, that's hysterical 😂 - So the mother wants the best possible future for her child, she just has a very harsh way of making that happen. - Well damn. Okay. Way to make a statement. - I'm convinced sexism plays a major part to why the teacher doesn't let Ae-sun be class president. - Hmm, I wish she had kicked the teacher's ass instead of bribing him. Oh well.. - Thanks for the gutpunch in episode one, I didn't need that. - I just want to remind everyone that IU is 32 years old and she still manages to play a 17(?) year old character and make it look fully convincing. - On the other side, Yeom Hye-ran is 48 and apparently the mother was supposed to be only 29 when she passed? I get that excessive physical labour ages you faster but damn. This was really nice (apart from the emotional damage). It think this is a pretty good companion piece to contrast Alchemy of Souls. Alchemy is all magic, ancient kingdoms, high stakes. Tangerines is so down to earth. Ordinary people just struggling to get by in a time when South Korea in general was dirt poor. It just feels real.

Ok Ok I'm here for it! That episode was really good!
