- At the first note of Ateez's intro, I thought I heard the beginning of Triple H's intro from back when Motörhead had their theme music made for him. - I knew DG would really like this show, partly because there was a live band to accompany the artists and many songs got rock versions. - The only small flaw of the show was that sometimes the music drowned out the artists' voices, or there were microphone problems. - Beatpella House: They are truly incredible, top 5 best performances of the show. DG, you can react to their work, I'll definitely watch. They are unique because not only are they incredible with their beatboxing, but they are also singers and rappers. - Indeed, sometimes there are songs that I don't like that much on the first listen. But some grow on you over time. Others, not at all. For now, I'm not a fan of this Allday Project song, but maybe with time. - During the first hour of the show, I really liked the rock version of "Dancing Alone" by Kiiikiii, a group I'll be following very closely. Starship always produces great groups. I really liked Cortis and Izna; indeed, "Race Car" is a really cool song. - Lucy was truly majestic. - The covers by IAN, Bang Jeemin, and Wonhee are the reason I love year-end shows; they're little tributes from young artists to their seniors and role models. Wonhee perfectly captured IU's vibe back then. My god, I didn't know she had such a powerful voice. What she did isn't easy at all; many established idols can't even hit those notes. - Yeonjun What a showman! - Lesserafim Probably the best staging and set design of the evening. The remix of the song also had a very ballroom dancing feel. But yes, it seemed prepared in advance; it looked like a "video performance," but it was very cool. - YB x Seugmin I also love rock and metal, and this evening had several very cool rock performances. - Riize Their vocal performances were impressive; I didn't think a song called "Sticky Life" would be so melodic. - NMIXX "Blue Valentine" was the unexpected hit of the year; they won several music shows with this song. But DG, I don't think there will be a sequel to Queendom. But NMIXX would indeed be good candidates. Generally, the show is for popular groups who need either a boost in their career or a complete breakthrough. And NMIXX are very good singers and dancers. Unfortunately, their songs don't always achieve the success they hope for, and in their early days, their concepts weren't very well received by the majority of K-pop fans. - Mihno What a king! He's still so charismatic. - Liz Her piano vocals were exactly what we needed. I'm happy to see Liz shine as a solo artist, a little outside of IVE. She doesn't get the recognition she deserves. I love all the members of IVE, even if Yujin is my bias. - Rei Rei's solo with that Latin vibe was unexpected. She was absolutely magnificent. Yujin is my bias, Yujin is my bias, Yujin is my bias. Rei is... fuck fuck. - IVE I love this version of Rebel Heart with a mix of rock and brass band. My god, since the beginning of the year, I don't know how many versions of Rebel Heart I've heard, but really, a lot! These girls never stop finding new arrangements. Rei stole the show in this performance. She's the one who... Standout: - Aespa I'm not a Rich Man fan, but I love Kill It. They are truly amazing performers, whether it's their vocals, dancing, facial expressions, or stage presence. They "Kill It"! - TXT Like last year, TXT released my favorite male song, "Beautiful Stranger." It's incredible, the bridge is amazing! - Ateez and Stray Kids Once again, it's impossible for me to separate these two groups. They have the same energy, are show-stealers, have incredible songs, and their performances are always very polished with elaborate staging. It's like they're actually in Kingdom!

aespa - no wonder you loved kill it as it was a candidate for title track but they went with Drama !

I watched this after midnight on New Year and as someone who hates this specific holiday it was the best thing I could do. Blasted these stages on my headphones and had a great time lol Happy New Year btw!

Sascha

kiiikiii's first song was Strawberry Cheesecake, the bside to Dancing Alone, there is a MV for it though if you wanna check it out for reference, the song Wonhee covered was Good Day by IU, which is one of THE IU songs and the one that gave IU her big breakthrough all the years back. She recently retired the song at her last concert tour cause she doesnt wanna do this insanely long high note anymore. She saw Wonhee's cover and praised her a lot both for her vocals and the experessions. As you can imagine there were a lot of people hating on this cover before & after she performed it, but no one can say shit anymore after IU came out and gave her props.

SEUNGMIN AND YB KILLED IT!!!!! best collab stage of the night for me. You are so right Metal albums from Stray Kids and ATEEZ might actually kill me though lol ... but I would die happy 🤭 It was Han, Felix and I.N on the 'Genie' OST ... but seriously Felix, Seungmin and Han's voices were made for Rock / Metal. Lol the 'Depressed Pikachu' is a Ditto pokemon ... a Ditto in Pikachu clothing lol. I AM OBSESSED WITH THE STRAY KIDS STAGE.... the visuals... the Hangbok .. the vocals , the choreo, FELIX'S HAIR ... they Thunderous ones never dissapoint!! I can't wait for their Lunar New Year TV special ... they always look sooooo dam good in period attire..... Love Them far too much

„probably around two and a half, maybe three hours“ *looks at the length of the video* uhm... yeah 😅 I mean, out of the 41 videos in the full playlist, you only skipped 6. You basically reacted to the entire thing almost. And when I watched it live, it was a 4+ hour show, including the MC intermissions, new year's countdown and all that. ATEEZ Opening - Hell yeah, live band arrangements! - And let's not forget: Ateez share a lot of the same producers with Dreamcatcher. This just makes sense. - The way San is SCREAMING. - I need all them groups and companies in general to start releasing their award show and Gayo remixes on streaming. There is a huge hole in my playlists and only aespa's Drama rock remix from MMA 2023 can fill it! - What an opening. ATEEZ METAL ALBUM. GIVE IT. NOW. Beatpella House - Absolute insanity. Their talent is just ridiculous. - Le Sserafim is actually the ONE group that really could not have collabed with them here, as they weren't even present during this show. I'll get into the reason when we get to their performance. - That one woman in the audience is really going during GO 😂 - „I wish all the groups could be watching, to see their reactions. Because a lot of them are actually performing.“ Nope. ALL OF THEM are performing! What Beatpella House are doing here is a medley of one song from every single one of the other attending artists. Well, except for Hanroro and YB, they didn't make the cut for some reason. But this is the list of songs included in this medley: ATEEZ - WORK aespa - Dirty Work THE BOYZ - WATCH IT izna - IZNA NCT DREAM - Beatbox KickFlip - FREEZE ITZY - DALLA DALLA LE SSERAFIM - CRAZY NCT WISH - poppop ILLIT - Magnetic MINHO - Heartbreak Hearts2Hearts - STYLE LUCY - Flowering ALLDAY PROJECT - WICKED TXT - Sugar Rush Ride PLAVE - We don't stop NMIXX - DASH Stray Kids - MANIAC KiiiKiii - BTG IDID - STEP IT UP TREASURE - DARARI CORTIS - GO! MEOVV - HANDS UP TWS - Head Shoulders Knees Toes NEXZ - Beat-Boxer ZEROBASEONE - SWEAT RIIZE - Boom Boom Bass BOYNEXTDOOR - Hollywood Action IVE - LOVE DIVE This is the entire lineup of the 2025 MBC Gayo Daejejeon. - From everything I've read, Beatpella House are considered to be THE South Korean beatbox group. Absolute legends of the scene and among the best in the entire world. Generational talent right there. KiiiKiii - Strawberry Cheesegame is the b-side to Dancing Alone. - I'm probably gonna repeat myself a lot today, but give me that rock arrangement of Dancing Alone now! - Would you believe that the adorable short-haired Jiyu is in fact the oldest member of the group? CORTIS - The Mic Drop cover was at KBS in Japan. You know, in that 5+ hour playlist I sent you with around 90 videos 🥸 - I respect the effort of covering Deja Vu but this also makes it quite obvious how much further ahead TXT are with their vocal skills. Cortis can't really live up there. - FASHION ON THE OTHER HAND, THAT IS A FUCKING SONG. GET IT. - I can think of another kpop song that mentions Jesus: ShaLala by Say My Name. A new-ish girl group that features former IZ*ONE member Honda Hitomi. They're straight up saying „thank you Jesus“ in the first prechorus 😆 Hearts2Hearts - Some mic and audio balancing issues on this one? - Very cute and I appreciate them singing mostly without a backing track. However, especially in a case like this, the audio people have to make sure that everything works as intended. Sadly the girls' singing was barely audible at times. tripleS was on KBS! Both in 2024 and 2025. You just haven't reacted to that show and I fully understand because who has time to sit down and film a 5-6 hour long reaction? If you want to do it, you could maybe split it up into two reactions. One for the performances in Korea (Close Your Eyes x AHOF until CNBLUE) and one for the performances in Japan (Cortis until Stray Kids). Or maybe be VERY selective and only watch your top favourites, the special cover stages and the songs/artists that you haven't already seen on other shows? Just some ideas. But I also understand if it's still too much and you'd prefer to be done after the Golden Disc Awards. ALLDAY PROJECT - I still don't like the song itself but I do enjoy the live performances of Look At Me. Does that make sense? - I remember being kinda annoyed at them cutting off One More Time before the outro. Glad that they didn't make the same mistake here. izna - Arriving with their best title track AND best b-side! - I was watching these stages with a few friends over the weekend and one of them called Mai „Yeji's younger Japanese sister“. Kinda accurate tbh 😄 - Racecar was in fact a title track candidate and from what I know, the members themselves really wanted that to be the title track. But someone in the company decided it had to be Mamma Mia for some reason. Which I really don't understand. Racecar is a MUCH better song and it fits the overall aesthetic of izna so much more. - They condensed the song quite a bit here so make sure to give the full version a listen in your own time! ILLIT - „Not Cute Anymore“ but Yunah is wearing a bedazzled necktie that says CUTE in huge rhinestone letters 😂 - Can you believe that some of my friends don't vibe with this song when it is THE BIGGEST VIBE EVER? LUCY - Lucy aren't a super regular guest on these shows but we have seen them at MBC 2023 and KGMA 2025. - I read a post that said this song reminded them of childhood summer and that just perfectly sums up Lucy's entire vibe, doesn't it? HANRORO - I'm not familiar with her but one thing I do know is that she was one of the openers for Coldplay in Seoul, alongside Twice. - This song is called Landing in Love. It's a Hanroro original. But I think I like this duet version more. MEOVV - Finally Drop Top on a year-end stage! - I fucking love this song, holy shit. - I need a Hands Up Remix album because they just keep coming up with new insane remixes for every goddamn show and they have the AUDACITY to not release any of them. What the hell, man? Where's my Hands Up (TMA Hard Techno Remix)? Hands Up (MBC Rock Ver.)? Ian, Bang Jeemin, Wonhee cover stages - Ian is just Karina's little sister fr. - But the crazy thing is: she is a whole NINE YEARS younger than Karina. In fact, even today, Ian is STILL four years younger than Karina was back when aespa debuted. Karina debuted at 20, Ian is still only 16. - Considering her age, I sincerely hope that SM doesn't push her into a too mature direction too fast. Yes, she killed this performance but this is about the maximum she should do for the time being, in terms of concept. - I like Jeemin's cover a lot more than the one aespa did at the SMTOWN concert in January last year. Nothing against aespa but Rum Pum Pum Pum is a very peculiar song and aespa's voices don't really fit it imo. It's not even their fault, it's the song. Jeemin's vocal tone fits it way better. - Wonhee doing Good Day by IU is insane, frankly. IU herself actually retired this song from her concerts because that 12 sec high note was getting too difficult for her. I have seen others attempt and miserably fail to cover this song. And here's a relatively new idol nailing it! - IU actually saw this performance and complimented Wonhee on it. If that isn't proof that you did an amazing job, then I don't know what is. YEONJUN - I don't even have anything new to say about this anymore. Amazing job. Keep going. LE SSERAFIM - This performance was pre-recorded in a different studio because Le Sserafim were actually in New York City, performing on Times Square on New Year's Eve. Quite literally on the other side of the planet, so they obviously could not be in the MBC studio during the actual live show. - I'm not huge on the original song but I REALLY like the Funk Remix of Come Over. THE BOYZ - Showing once again why they won the original Road to Kingdom. - I would actually argue that their new company is worse than the old one. And that's quite impressive, not in a good way. Look into what they did to Ju Haknyeon. They kicked him out of the group because of baseless rumors about him (allegedly paying a JAV actress to sleep with him), which was very quickly disproven. Haknyeon then spoke out about how the company completely failed to protect him from those kinds of lies and slander. And now the company is suing him. Seriously. What the fuck. YB - Give in to the headbang, Daniel! You know you want to 👀 - Stormborn is from the same album as Rebellion. Odyssey. Honestly one of the best metal albums of 2025! Every single song goes so fucking hard. - The collabs they always do. Yoon Dohyun and Seungmin sound so good together! And you still remember their Le Sserafim collab from Golden Disc two years ago, right? 05 Medley - A medley of songs released in 2005! (not people born in 2005 lol) - Jiwoo, Juun and A-na of H2H are covering Anymotion by Lee Hyori. Which was in fact a promotional song for a flip phone at the time, hence them presenting that huge modern folding phone at the end. - Juun, chill - Annie and Woochan of ADP are covering Phone Number by Jinusean. Keeping the phone theme going I guess 😄 - KickFlip are covering Lovable by Kim Jong Kook. Yes, that Kim Jong Kook. Running Man. And the song is so iconic too! KiiiKiii are covering Y (Please Tell Me Why) by freestyle. I was not familiar with this song but it sounds really nice. - Cortis are covering Fly by Epik High. THE hip hop group of South Korea. I was fortunate to see them live twice. Legends! And this song fits Cortis a lot better than Deja Vu from earlier imo. - And finally, IDID covering Rising Sun by TVXQ! They did okay. Out of the three covers I've seen of this song (TO1 on Road to Kingdom, Riize on MAMA 2023 and this), this one does the least to impress me. Tbf, I am quite critical here because I hold this song and the original artist in such high regard. So, solid effort but others have done it better. RIIZE - Sticky Like is a b-side of Fame. Gorgeous song! - DO YOUR THING, SOHEE 🗣 - Obv you haven't seen the KBS Gayo but you wanna know what they did when Riize did the footwork in Fame? COMPLETELY CUT AWAY FROM THE STAGE TO SHOW A RANDOM AUDIENCE MEMBER. The fuck. NMIXX - I yearned for Nmixx performing Reality Hurts on one of these shows! But it's fine, I'm gonna see it in person anyway 😎 - PAPILLON THO - Sullyoon wants to hurt us physically. - Queendom 2 already exists, I think you mean Queendom 3 😆 But I like how you think. Who else could be there besides Nmixx? Maybe Meovv, H2H, izna, Sunmi as the solo artist? IVE and Le Sserafim if I wanna be completely delusional 🤡 Or Kara! They're still very active and would be a great representation of a 2nd gen legend. I just hope the concept isn't completely dead after the most recent season of Road to Kingdom did so poorly... - I still need you to react to the full Blue Valentine album btw. This isn't just a suggestion anymore, it's a full on request. And don't skip the two new versions of O.O, just because you've seen the original debut! The songs on the album are different! ZEROBASEONE - Star Eyes might be my favourite song on the album. And I love this orchestral arrangement here. - Wait I didn't even notice that the orchestra was all children! MINHO - MC stage! - Love me a group where EVERY member is also killing it as a soloist! - You can tell he LOVES this. The stage life. LIZ - She's covering a song from the OST of My Mister. A drama with IU that I've seen being requested here quite often. Team 20's - THIS is the collab stage of the idols born in 2007! They just turned 20 years old, according to the traditional Korean age system. Idols featured here are TWS Kyungmin, H2H Yuha & Stella, KickFlip Donghyeon, IDID Seonghyeon, NEXZ Hyui & Yuki, ZB1 Yujin, NCT Wish Sakuya & Ryo, izna Jungeun & Sarang and MEOVV Narin. - The Song is Journey for Myself by BUZZ, originally released in 2005. BOYNEXTDOOR - Not just Hollywood Action, I'm actually perplexed about the severe lack of I Feel Good at all these shows. Their best song this year and they only performed it at three of the seven award shows and Gayos they attended in 2025, while If I Say I Love You has been at all of them. Nothing against that song, I just like I Feel Good a whole lot more. IVE - Bro is reacting to Gotcha as if he hadn't already heard it before on KGMA 🤠 - There's the realisation! - Rei stop it pls - Ok, real question: why did it have to be Rebel Heart again? I feel like the most natural transition from that interlude would have been into Attitude. - 🎺🎺🎺 ILLIT x Pikachu - I think this is the theme song for the current season of the Pokémon anime? aespa have also done one of these before. - BRING OUT THE PIKACHUS - That's a Ditto! A shapeshifter that can perfectly replicate any Pokémon (or even human) it sees. Just not the face 😅 - 30th anniversary of Pokémon! The first games released in Japan in 1996. TREASURE - They just turn everything into a party, don't they? - „Band ver.“ as if the entire show hadn't been all band versions already 🤠 aespa - Kill It! My favourite b-side from Whiplash! Gives me Savage/Drama vibes, which makes sense too because afaik it was written around the time of Savage's release and once considered for the title track position instead of Drama. TXT - The crazy contrast of Yeonjun solo vs Yeonjun in TXT. - They do ethereal so well. ITZY - Focus isn't even a full song. It's just the album intro and they make it so epic. - I don't know what „DB ver.“ means but apparently it's more rock and traditional elements? Sign me tf up! ATEEZ - „30 years from now I'm gonna tell my kids this was Saja Boys“ 🤣 - Just a little taste of a Lemon Drop - I don't know what prompted them to do their Arriba+Django set from the previous world tour, including the bar, chairs and tables, but I'm not complaining 🙂‍↕️ - In fact, I love that Ateez keep switching it up and perform different things on every show this season. - Shoot me, Yunho! Stray Kids - Magic! - What a DIVINE performance NCT DREAM - Some intro flourishes from Ridin, Hot Sauce and Go? - I'm not huge on Beat It Up as a song but I do like their dedication to the concept. - Chiller is so cool. Pun completely intended. Ending - Yup, that's Hwang Minhyun. Former member of Nu'est, one of the MCs of this show (with Annie and Minho) and the actor of Seo Yul. - Look at Ateez and TXT jumping around in a circle back there. Happy to be of service! Golden Disc is coming on Saturday and that will mark the end of the 2025 award show season.
