Yes, that part of Eun Yu's (Se kyeong) backstory was first revealed this ep. It's to give more depth on her character and make us see more of her struggles and understand what caused her depression. Also to give a hint on why she happened to learned sign language. Back when I first watched this drama, I've been really wishing the same thing as yours. That Eun Gyeol will realize that his 'mission' is not about preventing his father's accident. Master even directly told him durong the call this ep, that he should focus on living his life...

From now on let's make this a contest, whoever can curse evil stepmother the most wins? I think that sounds great and will make sure we'll all stay sane while watching this drama ^^

We just entered my favourite part of the drama with this episode. The scenes where all our characters come together and bond are my favourites. And I agree with you, Cheongha is also my favourite character, every scene with her is a highlight for me, Shin Eunsoo (the actress who plays the character) did a fantastic job imo with all the nuances she added to her expressions and body language. I dont really know how close it comes to realistic portrayal of a deaf person but I was just a big fan of how she interprated that role.

- Bro what? Was he dating five girls at the same time?? 🤨 - Oh, I for sure thought it was gonna be Eun-yu pulling away. Huh. - Well okay then - „The BEST thing she can say is no“ 😭 - Forbidding sign language is not „your own way of educating her“, it's just a complete withholding of any education whatsoever. I know I talk about my dad a lot on these reactions but it keeps being relevant. Sign language was also forbidden at his boarding school. The result? The man wasn't even able to talk until he was 11 years old. - Whether or not regaining hearing through technology is possible really depends on how the hearing was lost in the first place. If the problem lies in the outer ear, you can often use regular hearing aids, and for issues with the inner ear, a cochlear implant may help. In my dad's case, the ears themselves worked completely fine but the nerve connection from the ears to his brain was completely severed from an accident when he was an infant. There is no way to restore that with technology. - „Use your grief when you perform.“ Okay but don't be surprised when she has a mental breakdown on stage. - Ah, the Song of Storms from Ocarina of Time. You travel into the future, learn this song from an NPC, then you travel back into the past and teach it to that same NPC that you learned it from. So what's the true origin of the song? Who really composed Beethoven's Fifth? - So nice to see the bond between Yi-chan and Cheong-ah forming. - Ah, we've finally reached the point where the show gets its name from.
