Apparently, this episode was inspired by yet another true story that, sadly, did not have a happy ending, since an organization like this does not exist in real life. I believe episode 3 was also based on a real event, as are many episodes & dramas that deal with such sensitive subjects. This was perhaps the best episode of the season so far.

Major, major pause warning.

Oh my, I can barely see the screen through all my tears. This episode hit so close to my heart. The minute I saw that classroom full of colors, I was like, "Oh, preschool. It's the parents this time." As someone who worked in preschool and now works as an elementary school teacher with special needs children, I had to clench my fists and take a deep breath before continuing this episode because I knew it would be difficult to watch. And boy, was I right. I've always said that, most of the time, the hardest part of our job is dealing with parents. You can give your whole heart to the children. You can sacrifice your health, your free time, your energy. You can spend your own money, buy supplies, and create the most beautiful environment for them. Yet there will always be parents who never see your efforts. Who will only see what they want to see and not love and care you try to show. I've been in a similar situation myself. A parent accused me of abusing a child, which was not true. I remember coming home from work and just lying on the floor, sobbing, asking myself what I had done to deserve this when I gave my all every single day. Imagine anxious, socially awkward person with low self respect working as a teacher and encountering parents like this. It just destroys you. It's not the kids who make this job hard, it's the parents. And it wears you down. The demands, the late-night messages, the conflicts, the expectations. Being terrified of each time your phone notification goes off becomes the new normal. Over the years, I've realized that there are fewer and fewer parents who treat you as an equal adult and human being. It never stops hurting - the distrust, the comments, the apathy, the stares. Slowly, it starts killing something inside you. And directors and administrators are rarely on your side because everyone is afraid of parents. Afraid of complaints. Afraid of situations spiraling out of control. As a teacher, it often feels like you have no backup. And I'm not mentioning all the other things. There is bullying between colleagues, competition, workplace drama and etc. And once again, it's the adults who make this job much harder. It's my sixth year working with children. I've considered quitting this job. Not because of the children. Not because of the job itself. But because of the parents. Yet, being able to show kids how beautiful and wonderful life can be, keeps you going. Seeing their eyes light up when they discover something they love, when they become interested in something new, when they achieve their goals, when they trust you - those moments keep you where you are. The bond you create with kids - it's something else. It's such a precious one. You just want to make them happy and show that world is full of adults who will be there for them too. So you stay. And you hope that one day the parents will see your efforts. The children see them. But many adults, blinded by their own judgments and walls, never will. No matter how far you go, no matter how much of your heart you give, it never feels like enough...

You forgot to add this one to the collection.

This episode absolutely infuriated me so much, how helpless the teacher would have felt at that point of time. But when the parent got a taste of her own medicine, she still did not realise her mistake. Its sad to hear that its inspired by a true story with a not happy ending, hope that the system has improved for teachers.

I did a bit of a response to your comment in my outro for episode 7. After all, I didn't want to leave a reply saying "thank you for commenting" because I was afraid it would feel too "empty," but I do thank you for sharing, and I appreciate you!

- I was hoping the noose would just rip open but Han-rim stopping her from trying in the first place is better. - MVP mum! - Shit man, what are you gonna do with these kids? The intimidation tactics used on older teenagers won't work here 😅 - I have friends who are kindergarten teachers. That would be an absolute nightmare job for me. - I see. U-jin's mother is going to be a problem here. - This is exactly what my friends are always telling me. The children are great, they love them. It's the parents that are impossible to deal with. - Strapless bra? We're crossing SEVERAL lines here. - What the fuck are you talking about „sexual curiosity“? These children are SIX YEARS OLD. This woman is BEYOND weird. - She should just block her. Going on her personal Instagram to leave disrespectful comments is not ok. Block away. Or just set her profile to private so she can't see it. Also, if that mother is so concerned about her son seeing something he's „not supposed to see“ on Instagram, it is HER responsibility to monitor his internet usage. Especially a kid this young should not even be on Instagram at all. The platform is 13+. Parents have an obligation to make sure their kids follow that rule. This is not on teachers. - This show really captures all the angles, huh? EP1: Student-on-student bullying. EP2: Same thing but with actual criminal connections on top. EP3: Student-on-teacher bullying. EP4: Teacher-on-student power abuse. And now in EP5: Parent-on-teacher harrassment. - Good to see that at least the other mum is a reasonable person. - At what point can you just start calling the police on a woman like this? - And the dad looks to be an abuser. Hey, lady, instead of blaming the teacher for everything, maybe start looking at what might be happening inside your own four walls? - The issue is, the police absolutely HAS to investigate every single report of child abuse. Even if only 1.6% get prosecuted, we cannot allow the real ones to slip through. The only filter to know if a report is truthful or not is a proper investigation. It sucks that people like U-jin's mother abuse the system like this but I genuinely do not see another option there. - Why is Deputy Bong suddenly talking about lizard people 💀 - Aww yess, Hwa-jin giving her a taste of her own medicine, I love it. - Ehh, a work phone can be useful because teachers can just turn it off or leave it at the school once their work hours are over. - „My family works at the ERPB“ johncena_areyousureaboutthat.gif - Holy shit, the kid genuinely has so much more empathy than his parents. - And here's the unrealistic part: the parent actually facing consequences for their actions. If only it really worked like this.
