I watched Hospital Playlist a few times, but this was the only time it really sunk in. When Seok-hyeong said, ‘I don’t know what I am feeling. I dunno if I am sad or relieved. I don’t know what face to put on and show.’ My mom just passed away last month. She survived breast cancer for 14 years, but she developed colon problems last year and rapid weight loss. She was diagnosed with colon cancer last May 2026, but she decided against doing chemotherapy again in favor of palliative care, and eventually went into hospice care. Being a healthcare worker, I was already seeing the full picture last year—the heaviness of it all—and now, am I relieved that she no longer suffers? I went back to work, appearing normal, but I really dunno what to feel yet.
