Thanks Olivio. Great tips. One question..when do you use for example Gaussian blur from effects and when from live filters?

the Gaussian blur is a layer effect and has it's limitations as such. The Live Filters have more Blure modes and also can act as a filter for multiple layers or groups and you can paint a mask into it :)
