Content warning: suicide, sexual abuse

The last 10 pages to conclude this scene! "Rookie dinner night arc" is now done!

Thank you for all your comments, I enjoy reading them so much! I hope you like this one as well!

The next update will definitely take longer now, as I don't have the character art finished. I need to do new linearts first and also have to FINALLY concentrate a bit on Dokomi convention preparations, or I will stand there next month, feeling butt naked XD!

Hab irgendwie Herzrasen … nimmt mich echt mit. 🥲 Hast also alles richtig gemacht ❤️

Tav

Oh no. I have so much anxiety about who’s gonna find that photo 😬

Ann

I really like this new rendition of Reuben. He feels more relatable than in the old version~ +He is so kind and likeable. But that photo is gonna cause so much trouble no? Hopefully it gets eaten by deer, or someone non judgemental finds it

Emelie Höbel

Joining this patreon was the best decision ever 💕

Tephic

Reuben genuinely cares and it makes me love him so much

Setha

P64, First bubble "to embarassing FOR you" ;)

Lonsklonsk

Susanna Lavea

That's sooo nice to see.... also... going to check how much is understandable in that photo... it clearly shows Crush but maaaaaaaybe is not proof of anything...?? 🤞

Tom G

Poor Carter 😣

Saleb

I'm losing my mind. The fucking photo, the handholding, the bonding time its too much 🥵 Can't wait for the next chapter, but take your time with it! Also fingers crossed for your preparations 🧡

suzukibeane

Yessss, this is the top tier Reuben content I need.

Mary Lynn

Thanks for all the fast updates ❤️ health is always the first priority tho

Jeremy

Great scene. Thank you to Reuben, he cares so much 🙏 But the photo! Nooo

Gossipig

I almost screamed at the photo, the man has been through enough!

Bez

Reuben is such a great captain. Carter needs someone like that to see him. Scott could do that too, if he manages to get out of his own head.

Lethal Butterfly

"Drowning is not as peaceful as you think!" very Ruben response 😂 Also I GASPED out loud when the photo fell. I'm so scared for Carter 🥺 Surely, he'll notice it's gone in the morning and go looking for it, right? Unless... He doesn't even remember the photo debacle 😱

Zordon

I hope Scott is the one who finds the photo or the deer eats it

Okay so thinking on the photo: what's the *worst* that could happen? My initial instinct would be to say that Matt finds it. Between him and Lee, he strikes me as the manner, more reactionary one. But I don't think that's really the worst case scenario. Because as much as Matt would try to hurt Carter, he'd be nowhere near as effective at it as what Lee would be able to do without even trying. Lee would post it online, he would vlog about it, Carter's secret would be out to EVERYONE and that would be way more psychologically damaging to him. Ofc if either one of these bullies found it, the other would probably discover in short order, but still, I think Lee's actions are the ones to really worry about here. Conversely, what's the *best* that could happen? Maybe Scott or quiet, preceptive Popeye finds it and returns it to carter without a peep. Better yet, maybe Carter notices it's gone, goes looking for it, and actually finds it himself before anyone else does.

Vielen lieben Dank für so viele Seiten und Updates in so kurzer Zeit! 🙏🏻☺️

Time

I really enjoy how Reuben handles the situation, the dichotomy of his icy exterior with the warmth with which he handles people he's close to with is depicted very well. He's an excellent contrast to Scott, whose outside matches his inside so much that he bleeds when nervous. Thanks for the 3 updates so close together, best of luck on your Dokomi prep!

Diego P

It's going to stress me out so much the fact that we don't see who picks up the photo

I’m literally praying this happens please. I won’t be able to handle anything bad happening with that picture 😭😭😭

F. Casanova

Reuben coming to save the day and <3

aerifia

I LOVE Reuben so much. I very much appreciate him doing and saying everything he did to Crush. Might have just saved that poor boys life. NOW FOR THE PICTURE… I screamed

SpaceSmores

NOOOOO THE PICTURE NO NO NO GET IT BACK!!! That's really bad....... but other than that love this ep and I love Reuben

MAX

Its so cool having such back to back updates of my favorite comic!! [:

MAX

(spoiler) I bet lee is gunna get the photo since he was the one that caught carter in the og

ollisnake

"I made sure not to use this hand" cracked me up instantly

Thingymabob

Becoming a Reuben stan over here.

JaySevun

You're spoiling us again with your many updates, thank you!

Rebekah Hargrove

Thermodynamic equilibrium has been reached. Warm hand and cold hand. <3

cherry

🥺🥺 hold…. hand…..

patty lazuli

HAND HOLDING AAAAAH,,,,,, this bonding moment has been my favourite so far <3 i love reuben's character so much!!!! i’m delighted he was the one with crush at this very sensitive moment. but also this ending! noooo……… please let my boy crush catch a break 😭😭😭

patty lazuli

i love your comic so much!!!! thank you so much for all the quick updates, and all the hard work. hope all the preparation goes well, and you manage to have some time to rest in between everything ^^ <3

patty lazuli

alsoooooo, do i imagine things or the second time they started holding hands (after reuben pees), they had their fingers interlocked???? but then changed??? 🫣 (prolly seeing wrong, lmao)

Carter

Ruben and Carters relationship reminds me of the meme, “Why are you hands cold” then the dude who goes on a rant about cold hands. They’re so cute

Olivia Hughmanic

Finally Reuben and Carter crumbs! I am foaming at the mouth

Lemonydraws

God, as someone with BPD Crush is scarily good representation

>>110048550

Yes, he‘s really the type to show it through actions, because he’s not that great with words

NanaYaa
>>110049331

Yes, standing alone the photo does not that that much, but in the context, that only one person had a Polaroid camera, that Carter is wearing the team jersey and that it lies on the way from the team dinner puts it at least into a time and place context that’s hard to explain xD

NanaYaa
>>110049635

Sweat little hand holding bonding as a treat after and before the drama 🤫

NanaYaa
>>110050373

Finding balance is hard, but I’m trying to at least not die for the comic 🤣

NanaYaa
>>110051036

Yes, Reuben can be a good captain! Just that half the team does not respect him yet 🤔

Vixen

WHY IS NO ONE ELSE PANICKING ABOUT THE PICTURE 😭

astr.ii

THE PIC CARTER THE PIC FNXKSLJDBEBFNDCMSKS BABY

astr.ii

i love reuben and carter’s conversations so much because reuben has a tendency to explain what he means (because he knows he gets misunderstood often) and carter has a tendency to make assumptions about what others are saying. they kind of balance each other if that makes sense?

Frog

I really love Ruben character. He's so sweet and caring but also straightforward. And the fact that he didn't touch carter until carter did the first move. I love it and i'd bet so is Carter. Also the fact that he wasn’t afraid (?) and embarrassed to hold carter's hand was really helpful and important for carter's mental health. We could see the background lightening the moment they're holding hands.

Bro, I just KNOW the dude w/ dimples and his buddy are going to be the ones to find it and blackmail him for it 😭😭😭 or at least someone on the team that isn’t our (somewhat) safety net like Scott. While I wouldn’t want Scott keeping such a non con photo, I’d much rather he have it as JO material than Carter going through the same public trauma by media….

Nadira Bennini

i asbolutely adore Reuben's character, he's so honest and just, like, a nice and decent person he doesn't get overly involved i.e intrusive or pushy but he's still clear and direct and i love how he explains things with facts to make sense and be understood but also clearly shows that he cares and shows his emotions without being overbearing, that's what i meant to say :D i also love their conversation and dynamic although i'm looking forward to when they become closer and can talk more and understand each other better and maybe support e/o too! anygay, i love reuben aaaah he's probably my favorite character tied with Carter cuz i adore him too but we hadn't gotten a lot of Reuben lately so it felt refreshing to see him in this chapter <3

Nadira Bennini
>>110569968

i also love his autistic coding, other people have pointed it out before and it makes me really happy (+ what i meant by "explaining with facts" was that he's described what he saw with all the details that make carter seem unwell and in a different state than normal and explained how that informed his judgement and he didn't leave room for overthinking and interpretation which is a big part of having BPD/trauma) anygay, i like how he was written and i love this comic

Nadira Bennini

it felt nice to hear for Carter bc someone was actually paying attention to him and how he felt and not dismissing his self destructing behaviour, here's someone that cares, that's present with you and that wants to help but also respects any limit you might have, i hope i meet someone like Reuben someday :3

Abby N

Ahh the morning is gonna hit hard for carter 😭

Maora

Ohhh nooooo how much unlucky can be Carterchen? q.q I hope the person the find it, dont make shit!!! But the handholding scene <3 <3 <3 Reuben is soooo cute and funny. He he! He give Carter the hold he needs. And omg Yaa... the colouring is so love!!!

Hannah Cox

I really loved this chapter (who am I kidding I love all of them😭) but I’m also an absolute sucker for angst and running out of Crush and Reuben content suddenly ended my recent writer’s block so I thought I’d put it here since the fic👉👈 I wound up writing takes place directly after here. I’m not looking for followers or anything though and I’m really just trying to share this with everyone not really self promote anything!! so it’s just in its Google doc form instead of uploaded anywhere, though commenting is turned on! Enjoy I hope! For YAA and fellow stans💖 https://docs.google.com/document/d/18Lt9IZDR_w3Y2tI4rEAh2iM8NlzFKik3FuJxkIaKk6o/edit
