Perhaps most importantly, "die Kipferl" (kifli), a crescent-shaped bread roll wouldn't exist today. It was first made to celebrate the liberation of Vienna, to feast on the crescent moon. It turned out to be a very practical shape of bread, a perfect breakfast. It's still a staple product of bakeries from Austria to Czechia, Hungary and even Ukraine.
